I have to say that I'm jealous of your site as it is GREAT!!! As for the "new" Lisa, you were always an inspiration and you still are... Thanks for sharing!
Wanna encourage you to create for you! I enjoy what you chose to share - cos it's you, your unique take on the world, and the connection that matters. Go Lisa!!
The road you are going down is what you want to do, that's the most important thing. It's a bonus when others like it as well, Keep it up and looking forward to what comes our way. 🎉
I follow very few channels, but i do follow you, glad to see you back. We are all given a gift, but few open them. Do what makes you happy, and not try to please others, we'll never please everyone. Your right, the experience is the reward, we have a beautiful world outside our door, but few see that part of life.
Welcome back. All power to you for taking time and space to realign. I have missed you here on the Tube as I really enjoy your photographic wanderings and musings, especially those in our almost mutual backyard of the border ranges. Your new website is very nice, and it is clesrly a vehicle for you to do what you enjoy doing, which is more than just photography. Keep doing what brings you joy.
Thanks so much for the support Geoff! A new wandering is just uploading - not locally unfortunately - I hope I'll be back out in the next couple of weeks 👍
Missed you gal!! Great to see you back and that you're doing well. Yes, do what you like and makes you happy. Love your website and keep up the great work.
So many of the photography vloggers I follow have expressed similar feelings to yours when it comes to creativity and how it relates to their RUclips journey and goals. Some drop off and never come back so I'm glad you are not one of those and am glad you have done the introspection needed to make it all work for you and, ultimately, for us to enjoy. I don't vlog but do share my photos on my Facebook page and must confess to being caught up in the wanting validation part. I have learned that so many of my friends love to view my stuff but don't like other aspects of FB so won't ever put a like or comment, but will let me know in other ways and that's just as rewarding. It's taken a long time, but I am leaning to 'like' myself and appreciate the journey more as you mentioned. Self pride is the best and is priceless. Actually, posting comments on RUclips is one way I have found to be creative because I, too, like writing more that speaking! So keep putting stuff out there to help like-minded people be creative!
You make an excellent point about the people who might enjoy your work but don't like or comment. I think most of the time we have no idea when we have a positive impact on another person - it goes unsaid, and too many of us take silence to mean that nobody cares, when many times that's not the case. I tend to watch a lot of stuff on RUclips on my TV, so it's not easy to like and comment, so often I enjoy something without leaving any indication that I did. You've reminded me that I once wrote a short poem about just this thing, as it's something I keep forgetting...I might make this the next poem I share on my website and newsletter. Thanks so much Juanita, and I'm glad to hear you're learning to take pride in yourself and your work.
As a fellow creative I get where you are coming from, the only people that seem to gain on here are the ones that tell you how to improve your channel. Also I think that the creative motivation peaks and troughs. I came back from a trip to Canada and Alaska with lots of images and video, I still haven’t produced anything yet. You have a great channel, I love watching your stuff keep going. Thanks.
Yes it does seem to be that way on here. And I'm definitely with you on those peaks and troughs! For me, I tend to lose motivation after holidays because there is so much to go through and edit, which isn't nearly as fun and enjoyable as being out there. The shear amount to edit can end up feeling overwhelming. Thank you so much Alex for the encouragement!
Great to see you back! I think if you do what you love then your work will shine. Trying to force it often dulls your creativity I think. While poetry may not be especially my thing, I admire the passion that you display and I am looking forward to what comes next. 🙂
I think you've hit the nail on the head Peter! I know with my photography that it's always better when I just let it flow, and I'm quite good at not forcing it...I just need to bring the same mindset to videos etc. Thanks so much! 🙏
So good that you are "back" Lisa. It's true what you say regarding validation: I've had to learn with my photography that I need to follow-through on my intentions regarding the images, and just please myself. (The same with my writing - I'm not going to change what or how I write to please others. That's a fruitless exercise at best.) You are amongst several whose work I use as inspiration for my photographs, and it's worth noting that there are some quite distinctive differences between the work of each photographer. Oh, and printing my photos is terrific: seeing them occupy physical space is very rewarding. If you do delve into writing more, and want someone to edit or cast an eye over your work, feel free to ask. I've garnered a reputation for thoroughness.
Inspiring others in their own work, or just to get out taking photos, is my favourite thing to hear about😊 Thank you for the offer re editing writing - I may just take you up on that when I finish the book I've got in progress (whenever that will be!) Thank you so much for your support Mick!
@@LisaFrostPhoto it's a genuine offer, Lisa. So please feel free to take me up on it. If you're contemplating a novel have some resources I'm happy to share with you.
Welcome back my friend. I'm so glad to see you back (not trying to validate. LOL!!!). Do what pleases you and just let the chips falls where they may. I find that I'm not making videos so much anymore, but I've been focusing on the photography. Maybe it's easier for me in that my channel doesn't have so many subs, but that's all good. Keep chasing what makes you happy! Cheers!
Good to see you back , great to hear your thoughts on this whole social media thing , which I don't play by , life's too short for that . Before social media all we had was ourselves and the people we know, and if you had a body of work somewhere, then inviting your immediate circle and their friends was all there was and that was enough , I never dreamed in a million years that it would be possible to have a reach further than that. I'll check out your website too 😊
Great to see you back Lisa! For me a comment on one of my images has a value of 10,000 likes ;-) Because then the other person has taken the time to look at my photo. Maybe I'm too old for the "like-stuff" but I value a conversation over likes. Your website looks great. It has a very nice elegance to it.
Congratulations on your new web site, thanks for sharing Lisa!
Thanks so much Paul!
Nice to see you back. Look forward to your creative work, what ever that may be. You and Danny are great creatives. Rock on.
Thank you so much Roy 🙏😊
