What I love about your videos are the spectacular locations and the beautiful photos you capture. I also enjoy watching you and Danny having such a good time. 🙂
So sorry for the slow reply Jay - I've been taking a break from youtube whilst redoing my website so haven't seen comments. Thank you so much! While I've enjoyed the videos, I took way too much footage and overwhelmed myself - next time I think I'll be focussing more on Danny and I vlog style, so hopefully you should enjoy that! The rest of my videos from last years trip should be out in the not too distant future, now that I can focus on them and Danny has helped edit most of them.
That is so very wonderful! I also enjoy Danny's contribution to the video. He's quite the cool bloke! I also just found out that I missed your last video ( I think). Thanks so much for letting me tag along with you guys on this adventure. I hope that I wasn't too much trouble. LOL!!! Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much Jon, no, no trouble at all - tag along any time 😄 Yes I love having Danny along too 😁 Snowdonia was a lot of fun as well...and we got the most interesting weather there!
Thanks for a wonderful clip, Lisa. It's a real pleasure to share yours and Danny's journey through some spectacular parts of England. I happened upon Henry Turner's channel during one of Melbourne's many Covid lockdowns and have been subscribed ever since. Loved all the images, but the mill house with the water wheel was wonderfully evocative of a bygone era. I can't go past the "plushie coo" - my youngest daughter fell in love with them, learning the correct terminology when she visited Scotland a few years back.
Thank you so much Mick! So sorry for the slow reply - I've been taking a break from youtube whilst redoing my website so haven't seen comments. I'm so glad you've been enjoying the videos - embarrassingly I still have 3 to put out, though thankfully Danny has actually done most of the editing of them, so now that I can focus on videos again it hopefully won't take me too long to get them done. The old mill is one of my favourites from the trip too...so much so it's made it onto the front cover of my calendar for next year!
@@LisaFrostPhoto no need to apologize, Lisa, I thought other things were taking up your time. So glad to hear you'll be putting out a calendar again. Excellent news.
Wow, Lisa! This vlog is absolutely stunning! Your photography skills continue to amaze me, and the way you capture the beauty of the Lake District is breathtaking. The RAF fighter jets were an exciting bonus - what an incredible opportunity! And Danny's humor added the perfect touch of wit and charm to the video. His commentary had me loling ! The two of you make a fantastic team, and I love how your passion for photography and exploration shines through in every frame. Keep sharing your talents with the world, can't wait for the next episode.
Aw thank you so much! Yes the jets were amazing - such a lucky bonus to the day! My biggest problem with Danny's great lines is whether I'm recording when he says them 😄 I do love having him along. I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos ❤️🙏
It's definitely a wonderful area, and there is so much to do there - we barely scratched the surface! Henry's videos are a great source of inspiration for where to visit. Thanks so much!
You two are a delight to watch thoroughly entertaining and engaging and not to say accomplished photographers with an eye to a view . I hope you enjoyed your holiday and please return . Don’t get me started about the dog deposits so apologies for that .
Thank you very much for your kind words! We had a fantastic time, and I really hope we do make it back sometime because we barely scratched the surface! It must be very frustrating having to live with the dog deposits...it's something that thankfully isn't very common to see here.
So much to take in a few short days. The jets were cool - we experienced similar when we were at Girrawheen a couple of decades ago. Took us a little by surprise. Haven't seen it since. Sad Lake aka by its real name, was definitely sad. . . . . lots of beautiful autumn colours in there. As for the dog poo bags - I'm with you, seriously people, why!!!!!!!!!!! Geepers. .. . . .
So sorry for the slow reply Denise - I've been taking a break from youtube whilst redoing my website so haven't seen comments. Yes the entire trip was a whirlwind - too much to see and do and not enough time! I should be back into the videos now that the site is done (it was a mammoth task!) Thanks so much!
Hi Lisa, Thanks for another brill video. As for the dog dollops, its endemic all over the British Isles. Crazy thing is the clowns that do this kind of thing think they are being environmentally sensitive by bagging it. Like my old dad used to opine " This Country's gone mad".
Thank you so much Stephen - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! What a shame some people actually think they're doing the right thing bagging it and leaving it behind...hard to teach people who think they're in the right. While we don't have that problem here I think Australia's probably as mad in our own way!
So my best calculation would be we walked over 100km, with over 3400m of elevation gain. And that doesn't include the walking (and stair climbing - we went to the top of a lot of towers) at all the castles. For the super fit outdoor types that probably doesn't seem that much over 3 weeks, but for me, it was a lot! I very much doubt I've done that much in 3 weeks before. I completely ran out of steam towards the end of our very last day out (in the Peak District). Next holiday needs to be a bit more relaxed! 😄
54 minute video, didn’t feel like it to watch. Epic work Lisa, so much time would have gone into editing this one, much appreciated. Quite a few good LOL moments from you and Danny, lookout Fototripper! Your photos were great as usual but I think I enjoyed the story telling, rants and general banter the most in this video. Can’t wait for the next instalment. Cheers. As for the wrapped up dog presents, that was unbelievable, surely that can’t be common practice over there. Lazy b*stards!!!! Clearly they haven’t been taught the final step of actually putting it in the bin. I won’t get in there itself. Rant over.
Thank you so much Brad! Yes Danny is great for comic relief...my biggest problem is actually recording all the times he comes out with stuff 😄 I'm so glad you enjoyed coming along with us! And re the dog poo - unfortunately we saw at least 1 bag pretty much everywhere we went. Given how many people are out with their dogs it's certainly only a small minority of people who do it, but it's really not nice to see. I'd not thought of it before but the lack of bins in public over there may contribute to the problem.
Great video and really enjoyed the journey along with you. As a uk resident I can say that unfortunately the dog poop bags are a huge issue - some people hang them in trees! I just don’t get it either and it’s irresponsible and quite frankly disgusting. My rant over 😂 On a more positive note, beautiful images, great scenery and good company watching you guys ramble. You must walk so many miles!! 😊
Thank you so much! Wow, hanging them in trees is taking things to an entire other level! Yep, I'm completely with you on your feelings about it. I worked out that we must've walked over 100km, with over 3400m elevation gain, over our 3 weeks (not including castle ramblings). For me that is a lot! I completely ran out of steam on our last day of the holiday...I need to plan a slightly more sedate holiday next time! 😄
Hi both, I have deffo watched this video and deffo made comment. I came to the channel to see if you had released any new videos.. as this was the last one I clicked and could see no comment. Over the past year or so I have had problems making comments on peoples video and then finding them disappear? I don't know why this is happening so apologies if you think I have not watched... etc. Lots to catch up on and 2024 is turning out to be a orrible year in so many ways. Hope you are both ok. atm Al
Hey Al, sorry for the slow reply - I've been redoing my website for months and haven't been into youtube studio. I'm so sorry to hear it's not been a good year for you. I hope the second half is a big improvement. Yeah youtube's comment moderation leaves a lot to be desired. I've seen people's comments disappear too, and I always check if they're being held for review but they never are - they're just gone. Who knows how many I don't see. I've had that happen to some of mine too, and they're always so innocuous - no idea what triggers it. Danny and I are both good. I should be back to making videos soon now that my website is done. I hope things get better for you! ❤️
Hey John, sorry for the slow reply - I've been redoing my website for months and haven't been into youtube studio so haven't seen comments. No, just decided I needed to put all my attention on redoing my website. It's done now so should be back into the videos soon!
Nice job, Lisa, despite the light being challenging to non-existent. Thought 1: perhaps, although it's highly unlikely, the bags of dog poo are going to be picked up on the owner's way back to their car and they're not all lazy environmental vandals. Thought 2: the reason we don't see the RAAF practicing like the RAF is we can't afford the fuel. Thought 3: I hope you had fun cleaning all that foreign mud off your boots before you came back to Australia.
Thanks so much David! Yes, we'd been so blessed with the conditions and light in Snowdonia that the more normal conditions here weren't so easy. 1) Yes I wondered that too, so up until my rant didn't say anything. But the bags in the carpark had definitely been left there (the smell when we opened our car door was horrendous!) and I'd have thought most people would do a circuit of Buttermere like we did, so wouldn't be coming past again. I think most walks we went on we saw at least one bag somewhere, but Buttermere was by far the worst (probably because it was the busiest). 2) Haha - completely possible! We do actually hear the RAAF at our place sometimes - particularly at night - but I've never seen them. 3) Oh wow, getting the mud off our boots...and gaiters, and rain pants...was a mission! The bath at our last place certainly got used for more than bathing 😄 I don't think I took any video of it, but I should have!
So having visited Henry's hangout you must be wondering how he remains the most upbeat character on all of RUclips eh. I thought us Aussies were pretty dumb but the bagged up dog crap is a bit beyond it.
