This channel is creating a whole new genre of videos on RUclips all by itself. There are many therapeutic YT channel out there. Most of them use storytelling/narration as a major component to create that feel of calm. But this channel does it purely using visuals and sound. Cheers to you man. Lots to learn and pick up from watching your videos. Love from India ❤❤❤
“You can stop watching at this point…” no, I can never just stop watching your videos! I was very glad to see a new one pop up today (also, I wanted to thank you for introducing me to Haruki Murakami’s works in an older video, I’ve been really enjoying his novels this year)
I don't know how you get this soft lighting/tone in your videos, but it is really relaxing, and triggers nostalgia. Reminds me of the late 80s - early 90s Korean and Japanese TV and cinema..., or that's the best way I can describe it. Your videos make me want to be there.
8:12 'You can stop watching at this point...' ----> my immediate response to this was 'No..... no, I don't think I can stop watching this magnificent vlog'
No! Please don't make this your last video of the year! I love all of your videos, even the ones that weren't travel-focused. Thank you so much...coming from California!
Such a wonderfoul trip you had there, Ryo, that place is beautiful. Love the sight by your car and you put a relaxing and chill music in the background, we have similiar tastes. Thank you as always for this videos, my friend. God bless you.
My day always starts on a positive note when I see that you've released a new video. Each one is unique and full of heart. I'd never heard of Chibafornia (what a name!) before. My plan is to live in Japan for a couple of years one day and your videos are kind of an inspiration to me. So big thanks and I'm looking forward to the next video, whenever that releases.
Fantastic Ryo! Now that things are getting back to normal in Japan we will definitely be able to visit again next year and catch up with family. Your video was amazing especially the drone shots.Thank you for this video.
Ah yes, watching your videos is truly the best way to start the weekend! That Umihotaru seems like an interesting place to stop and take in the views of the sea~
I live in California and it does look like some of our beaches here. But the sand looks colder. California sand will burn your feet! My hometown of Santa Barbara has a dolphin statue and the artist made one for Toba City too. I hope to see it myself one day. So, that's another connection to California. Thank you for another great video! :)
I was thinking Chibafornia was supposed to be modeled after Venice Beach in the Los Angeles area though. When I saw the pictures of Chibafornia it does not look like any place in Northern California where I am from Note I lived in San Francisco and Sacramento in the past but now I live halfway from these two places.
Nice video! Exactly 3 years ago I was also driving a rental car in Japan. I thought it would be difficult, but it was very easy and relaxing because Japanese people drive very calm.
You did an incredible shooting! I loved so many framing and I found the video very pleasant to watch! Btw interesting topic as well, I hope I'll be able to visit Japan sooner or later! Greeting from Italy👋
I haven't seen you for a long time. I love your videos. Very calming. Thank you for taking us on your road trips. I hope you will make many videos. I was amazed you can see the Tokyo Sky Tree. Did you stay at a hotel? Would have liked to have a tour. Greetings from Canada,
Ryo-san, the extra dose of your sarcasm has spiced up another great work of yours, enjoyed it very much! I'd rather be a K-Car in Chibafornia for おにぎり with 干物 than a Mustang convertible in Santa Monica with a bacon burger right now!!! お疲れ様!(五味)
Hi, i really like your videos First time i watched your video was when i was in college, now i get a job. Thank God I found your channel again. I remember you posted a video abt your daily life and i like it, but i guess you deleted/made it private. But that's okay, your videos are always good
I've been on the other side of Tokyo Bay many times and never visited Chiba. Next time I'm in Japan I'll have to come over to this area and check it out.
Referring to the expressways and streets as "up" and "down" is really interesting. Really highlights the experiential differences between the two. Also, does anyone know what building that is in the background of 1:55? Looks super interesting.
Thank for your vlog. I really like ocean beach scenes. Is this your last vlog this year? I read it in your Korean translation. Hope to make Korean friends translate your Japanese soon. Have a good weekend!
I really enjoyed your previous style and pace of videos. Some I watched again and again. Would you consider having a second channel for your older content?
Yes, we are okay. The typhoon didn't come to Tokyo, unlike the forecast. And I heard that another typhoon is coming tomorrow. lol But it's small one so no problem! Thank you!
I remember seeing some older videos of this style titled "day in the life of introvert japanese man" or something similar but I cannot seem to find it anymore. Anyone know what that channel was called?
Man! I love your videos. The atmosphere is just too peaceful and relaxing. P.S. - This is quite different than California. Today's California, you'd see crazy drug addicts doing their "business" all over those palm trees :P
Could you please tell me how you shot videos in car? Maybe with a three pod? Or GoPro attached on the windshield? Many thanks since i want to shoot some videos when driving too.❤
Ryo, I was wondering if you could send me the names of the songs from your lofi and piano playlists you used to have on your channel. I have 5 of the songs so far. Thank you!
Hey, I am following you since the COVID 19 lockdown I have some questions to ask if you please: - Why did you change the name? (sorekara melancholy was cool) - Is it me or you deleted your videos when you make tea, food, and stuff? I really enjoyed thos videos to be honest and that motivated me to cook myself as a "sorekara melancholy man" like you Thanks for all, and keep going. I keep watching your vids from Iraq
Hello ryō-san, i recently on a bridge of haruki murakami. I have a love hate relationship with his works. He is my third japanese author. He is so popular in international market besides he gets lot more hates as well. Please can you tell your pov on murakami and his some famous works. Sorry for my poor english from non native speaker.
Tough question. First of all, I would say that he is a very good writer. most people don't even notice this because he uses very simple vocabulary and expressions, but his writing ability is outstanding. It is as if the scene comes to life before your eyes. To understand this, it is better to read his essays than his novels, but unfortunately not many of his essays have been translated. And he is a great storyteller. His stories are thrilling and drive us. We all have "something" in our past, and reading his books makes us feel as if we are reading about that "something". There is also a sense that many of us are struggling with something big. It might be government, company, or family. We don't know what that is specifically, but reading his books creates an abstract empathy. I think he is disliked because his novels are not instant food. His work forces the readers to think. He doesn't offer answers. Thinking is both pleasurable and painful. Then there is inevitably the matter of taste. Novels cannot be divided into good and bad. It is not bad if someone doesn't like his stories. But I don't think we need to think so much about like and hate. If you like his novels, that's ok. if you don't like him, that's ok. That's it : )
@@sorekaratravel4533ruclips.net/video/m_dWzcCZUII/видео.html I love slow pacing and little details with great narrating which haruki murakami offers. My first haruki's novel is 1q84 . In above link and in so many videos they are saying he is poor in writing female characters(i don't think so) and sexist. I feel his female characters are interesting on their own way but the way they analysing his works, it makes uncomfortable my impression on haruki murakami. So please can you take your little time and click that link, and please share your pov on this issue.

Agreed! But he does use narration to tell some of the story. :)
Try Kominka Life if you like this style!
Hi Ryo. Been waiting for your new video. I've watched your videos multiple times. Hope new video coming soon. Eagerly waiting.

Some of your shots look very inspirational for a cinematic Anime Movie. The colors and the perspektiv you choose are very cinematic too. Good Job!!
I'm so happy to see your new video! Ohisashiburedesune... You inspire me
The stream of shots was my most favourite part of the video so there's no way I'd stop watching!

This road with these palm trees reminds me of city pop album covers.

Thanks for sharing. Nice view for Chiba. Are there buses running from Tokyo to Chiba the same route you drove?
Huge fan of your channel 🙂
it just needs a beach on the other side of those palm trees to look even more like california

I live in California and shibafornia looks much better. Go to Northern California someday it’s much better. Southern California sucks. Love your video
Cool cool
Nice to see you
Man, you didn't have to delete those old lofi "morning routine" vlogs 🥲.
I used to watch it from time to time, if possible, please upload it back 🙏

This building is the entrance to the Tokyo Bay Aqualine and is used for ventilation.
The title got me.
Thank for your vlog. I really like ocean beach scenes. Is this your last vlog this year? I read it in your Korean translation. Hope to make Korean friends translate your Japanese soon. Have a good weekend!
Yes, probably so, but not sure. haha

I really enjoyed your previous style and pace of videos. Some I watched again and again. Would you consider having a second channel for your older content?

Hello wanted to ask how you got the drone footage? Beautiful vlog btw 💗
I just let the drone fly!
Ryo, are you & your family doing okay? The news of the typhoon is worrisome!!!

Have you considered doing a vlog in the town of Tomonoura? It was the inspiration for the Studio Ghibli movie Ponyo!
It's on my travel list, but a bit far away so not sure when I can go : )
Could you please tell me how you shot videos in car? Maybe with a three pod? Or GoPro attached on the windshield? Many thanks since i want to shoot some videos when driving too.❤

I might be wrong but looking through the video I believe Chiba prefecture is very similar to Ghibli movies..
