I think it's a matter of where exactly you're coming from. There are Germans who live in Japan and have hardly any problems, apart from the fact that they may have language difficulties because they are not stopping constantly learning. But social norms are similar in many ways, but not in everything. There is also a difference whether you just visit the country or whether you actually settle there. I could even manage with a mini apartment because I basically don't need more than a TV, a hotplate and a bed. As I said, I think it's a question of origin and social rules and laws. In any case, I like it very much and it rightly has a good reputation - no matter what the complainers say.
Actually making friends isn't so bad. Japanese people are reserved but I get this - I'm a not so standard Westerner and I've been reserved pretty much all of my life - so how did I get on? The important thing is be friendly and be prepared to reach out [when the occasion calls for this - obviously don't intrude into someone's world just because you feel like being a k---head!]. Be pleasant, be polite. So yes many Westerners are lacking in manners most of the time - so in Japan if you learn the vibe and pick up on respect and good manners, and ditch the 'me-me-me' mindset, it's a good start. 😊 kk back to my homework

I'm glad to see others have similar issues in other countries it is not just Japan. I think that happens everywhere in big cities. Rural and urban areas I think are a bit more calm and traditional. Most likely you will find them drinking coffee at their desk and not working for the first half hour... until the boss comes around and you pretend to be checking emails. I would never go taking orders for people. That is silly to me. You hired me to work, not be a waiter.
I took this with a selfie stick. There were no staff members there. I'm impressed with myself that I was able to take a video in the middle of Miley's Bar, even though there were so many customers there.
So when you go out with Ganko, Bulma, and Bikichan, what order do you sit in? I assume if you are first to the office and last to leave, you don't need to yell anything at the door to an empty office
