Hi Tim, good to see you uploading footage… and a lovely video again. Sorry to hear about Jon’s RV but glad he escaped without injury. Look forward to the next update 👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you. It doesn’t seem right if I do not have a video in the editing process, I just don’t have the time to turn them out at the same rate (and am not able to do so much flying) but hopefully we will get back to normal again soon. 😊
Just wanted to add my best wishes to John after the mishap. If it can happen to a man with John's experience it can happen to any of us. A very sad loss of a lovely aircraft, but nobody hurt. Thanks as always for the content Tim. 👍😁
Hi Tim shame about John's RV but he walked away from the accident which is all that matters eh? Thanks for the update and another view of the beautiful countryside surrounding you. I completed my bi-annual this week so now have another two years of scaring the natives down here to look forward to! I shall look forward to your November update ....😎
Thanks for the catch up Tim, glad to hear you are making progress with your chores. Sad to hear about the RV but glad John is OK. Looking forward now for the November fix.
Thank you Gordon. Slow progress with the chores but we will get there in the end! Not getting as much flying as I would like but there will always be some Nayland update for me to cover. 😊
Good to see you getting some flying, I have had so little this month with weather and work doing their best to stop me, did manage to sneek an hour. So sorry to see John has had a prang in the RV, I do hope all the insurance and payments get sorted as soon as posible, so he can get a something to play in. I hope you are getting there with all the admin and will be able to relax soon.
Progress on the house sales is slow and painful at times! We hope to complete on dad’s house during next week but the buyers on our house stalled because their buyers dropped out. The insurance has paid out for John but as you know, that doesn’t always mean you can find an aircraft to replace it! 😊
@@JodelFlyer I feel for you both, different losses but both with their own pains and problems. The problem for John is even if another RV4 comes up it will probably be more than he got and even then he may not jell with it. I hope he find something he likes and I hope thing move forward for you. Keep safe and well.
Thank you for watching and leaving me a comment. Life is very hectic here with all that is going on with the house sales etc but I will take a look at your channel. 😊
OMG hopefully John is OK and not too shaken up, scary stuff. Just goes to show, you fly out of that little strip all the time but it can easily bite you, sometimes it takes an incident like this to remind us strip flying is rewarding but not the safest. Great video Tim.
As you say Terry, we can all get caught out at times. John is a very experienced pilot with well over 5000 hours and only goes to show that the strip can still can bite! 👍😎
Thanks Tim for the video. Really sad to hear of John's RV, that was a lovely aircraft. Hopefully John's OK after all the drama, and glad no-one hurt. Have a good month, and looking forward to seeing John's new toy, once he has found one!!!
My condolences to John for the loss of his RV. It served him well and was quite a feature of this channel, with your trips to the continent. I could tell how much he enjoyed that aircraft and hope he does not blame himself for what was just an accident. I'm glad he wasn't written-off too. I enjoyed the underwing camera again. The autumn colours of the trees are quite noticable on, what I call, the 'bomb aimer' vertical angle. I'm glad you've had some time to take in a few leasure flights. (I just noticed the video started auto-replaying while I'm typing my comments, so that's two views from me in one go this month) All the best.
Thank you Robert. You a right, the RV4 has featured a lot in the videos over the years and it will seem strange without it. John had owned it for many years and it was a very special machine for him. The search now starts for a replacement but there is not much on the market at the moment. I have not had much time to fly as there is just so much to do at the moment with all the different solicitors and estate agents! 😊
I flew in to the strip the day after John’s accident and you could see he was totally broken. Ive never met the man before but he and others took the time to help me with a problem when it was probably the last think on his mind. Sorry to hear your story and see your aircraft but you can find another aircraft. Good luck and hope you enjoyed the biscuits!
Of course he is upset about the RV4 but it was good that John was unhurt. I am trying to keep people up to date with what is happening at Nayland and that includes the good and the not so good! 👍😎
Lovely to see this latest episode Tim . Very sorry to hear of the mishap with the RV4 , thankfully John is OK . The RV4 is replaceable , John definitely is not , we must thank our lucky stars for that . I hope the interment of your Dads ashes went ahead , it’s a very sad occasion . Nice of you Tim to close the video with the landing of the RV4 . Take care and looking forward to the next video . Thanks Tim .
I thought it only right to use my old RV4 ending for this video. John was fine. A bit shaken at the time but not hurt. The search has started for a replacement but there is not much on the market. It was good to finally settle dad’s internment. I wanted to be able to bury him close to mum (and we finally did) but the rules had changed since she died in 2007. Hope all is good with you both. 👍😎
Hi Tim, good to see you back and enjoyable content. With all the madness in the country at the moment it's nice to go flying again and escape for a while. Shame about John's aircraft, what ever happened to the Beagle he got, did I miss the updates on that aircraft? Oh well like most good things this vlog seemed short and sweet and I look forward to the next one, Cheers.
With all that is going on with selling two houses and buying a third at this time of financial uncertainty it is not easy but I have managed a couple of flights so I can at least ensure I have a monthly update for everyone. What aircraft were you thinking of when you say the Beagle? John has been involved in a number of purchases but I don’t remember that one? I know that as an LAA Inspector he had a Bulldog endorsement on his engineers ticket? Thanks for watching Steven and leaving the comment. 👍😎
@@JodelFlyer Hi Tim, it was in a vlog you done where you flew John to an airstrip and he was test flying a blue and white Beagle high wing aircraft maybe a Terrier, looks like a Cessna172?.
I think that was The Beagle Airedale I filmed at Headcorn but it was not John flying it but Mike is one of my viewers and he invited me there to have a look at the rebuild which he had just completed. It is a lovely machine and I am sure John would be pleased to find anything to fly at the moment. 😊
@@JodelFlyer Yes your right, sorry got confused! I've see a couple of blogs of two men saving aircraft in North America and one shows the amount of abandoned aircraft just left sitting in their hangers, maybe something like that here, a fascinating topic.
Thanks Tim for a quiet relaxed compilation of taking pleasure from flying. Such a shame to hear of the sad demise of John's RV in a dramatic incident, but pleased John is OK, at least he will be able to watch many hours of film you have of him enjoying the RV. I hope he is back in the air sooner than later. And may your dad now RIP and you have a place to visit and remember him. Take care Tim
Thank you Mike. Yes, John was devastated about his beloved RV4 and although the insurance has now paid out, there is nothing really for sale at the moment and certainly not an RV4! Dad’s house sale should go through at the start of next week so that will be one small step towards completing the tick list which is taking up so much of my time at the moment! 👍😎
And a half term treat for Angus and I! Hope all the logistics has gone as well as could be. Lovely to see this drop into my RUclips list. So sorry to see the impact on the RV but glad John is well! Wonder what he will get next.

Up for the first time in a month today 🤣 it's the 1998 Rules Of The Air again. Condensed version: If it's not to wet it's to windy, if it's not too wet, too windy or unstable the aircraft is unserviceable. If everything is fantastic for flying you will have unbreakable commitments elsewhere 😂
