    Key sprayer - I built this tint keg myself. It's called a "Cornelius keg". You can buy them on amazon and then get all the parts there as well. They also sell them already put together. Don't pay more than $310 for a preassembled keg (unless it has a filter and a brass spray nozzle). Here is a link to some on ebay.com www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...
    Pump sprayer - Here is a link to the pump sprayer I use in my videos. I'm not sure that this is the cheapest price but it is the correct product. 44tools.com/poly-ii-sprayer/

    Hi, my name is Brent and I have been an automotive window tinter since 1998 and have been installing paint protection film since 2004. In 1998 I took a 5 day class to learn the basics of window tinting. Then I started tinting cars and learning as I went. In 2004 I bought a roll of paint protection film (clear bra by 3m) and taught myself how to install it. I am now the Owner of ENCORE Window Tinting and Paint Protection Film in Stockton, CA.

    The wires allow you to hook it to a 9v or 12v battery. This will pop open the frunk and allow you to gain access to the 12v battery to jump-off the vehicle, or at least supply power to the vehicle’s 12 volt system.

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  Год назад +1

      Interesting, that makes sense. Without a mechanical lever, there's no way to open the frunk when you don't have power. I was pretty far off. 🤣😂 Thank you for the information. 👍

      The ramps are "Race Ramps". I don't remember where I bought them. It's been many years. Raceramps.com or even on Amazon. Awesome ramps. They are very lightweight, which makes them easy to move and store. Great for changing your own oil as well! 😁

      I guess it depends on what you consider lower end cars.
      I would definitely work on cars you have available to you as you start to learn the whole process and how to work with the PPF.
      Make sure you have enough lighting as well. That's very important.

      Is it ok to apply if it already has rock chips?

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  Месяц назад +1

      Yes, you can apply ppf over paint that already has some damage to it. It's no big deal, but do understand that ppf sticks best to new undamaged paint. So something you will notice is that installing ppf over some paint with some miles on it is that the edges that take more stretching will pop up more and take more work to keep down. So, if you run into that, it's normal. 👍🏻😁

    51:12 Brent,how do u go about trimming that corner spot? What part needs to be trimmed? Is it overlapping the issue? If so, Do you just score the top layer and tear away the excess?

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  Год назад +1

      Yes, I will score the top overlapping layer and tear that away. You shouldn't leave PPF overlapping. In the video, you can see that the top layer is bridging the gap from the paint to over the first layer of PPF. The air gap between the two layers is going to look bad (silver), fill with dirt, and fail (lift) with some time. 👍🏻

The material is PremiumShield NexGen, which is now owned by Eastman. The material itself is going away at the end of 2022. So we'll be switching over to an Eastman brand or be on the hunt for a new brand. 👍🏻

    • @EncorePPFtint
      @EncorePPFtint  3 месяца назад

      I am a big fan of both ways. Kits have gotten so good. Kits are normally faster as well.
      I think it's important to know how to do both. Bulking really helps you understand ppf and its limits. You can install things with fewer seams and releaf cuts.

      It is not required. I remove the tow hook covers because I like to wrap the film into that area so there are no visible edges to catch dirt over time.

      I'm not sure if PPF would be helpful with rust. It would depend on the situation. I'm sure that things would not rust under the PPF, but rust could creep in from the edges.
