What's your recommended bulk film to use for a model y and also where is best to buy?
If you are looking for bulk material, we do sell rolls to our viewers. 👍🏻
We use SunTek and Filink.
Does PPF affect the sensors of the car?
I've never found PPF to cause any problems with sensors. Only once did ppf cause a parking sensor to bug out a little, but it was definitely a problem with the freshly repainted bumper. I've installed PPF on thousands of cars over the years. I've even left the matte ppf over the sensors. No issues at all. 👍🏻
What's your percentage mixture for your tack solution?

I get it. I found myself welding for the first time a few weeks back. It was me and a splattery sparkler. I did look extra cool in my brand new welding shield and gloves, though... 😎🤦🏻

Is it necessary to use heatgun in ths process?
A heat gun only gets used during the last process of the installation. The heat sealing process, where all of the edges of the PPF get sealed down. 👍
Did you cover the chrome insert on the bumper with ppf protective film? or left open?
We did not cover any chrome on this vehicle. PPF dose work well on chrome, but this car was paid for by a dealership (brought in by our customer), and their packaged doesn't cover chrome. 👍🏻 Are you a PPF installer? If so, do you cover most chrome during your installs?
@@EncorePPFtint No, I just have a 2023 GLC, I gave it a PPF cover and they didn't cover the chrome part on the bumper either, and I was surprised why, I thought covering a bumper meant covering all the parts that came with it. Thanks for the explanation .
Most of the time, when we quote PPF at our shop, we only quote for the painted surfaces. Chome would not be quoted over the phone, and most of the time we are not covering it. Did they cover the grill as well?
@@EncorePPFtint Thanks for the explanation . I think many who are looking for a PPF are a little schizophrenic and want to keep the car in perfect condition, which of course includes all the parts that will show chips and scratches.

what is the Tac you keep mentioning, is it the soap water or the Alcohol to make it stick better
The tac is the alcohol mixture. 20% alcohol to 80% water. The slip solution is the soapy water. 👍🏻
Learning a lot from your upload. Still shit scare when cutting ppf over painted edge…. What OLFA model knife are you using and do do cut your blade (to use brand new portion of it) very often ? Thank you !
I'm going to make a video very soon about how to practice cutting PPF. Find a bodyshop and ask them for a crashed up painted pannel they've removed. You can also blow up a balloon, lay some ppf on it, and practice cutting on that. I understand what you are saying, though. The idea of cutting across PPF on paint is scary at first!You do get used to it and more comfortable with some time and practice. 👍🏻
Link below to the OLFA knife I use. It's just the basic one. I'm constantly snapping blades off. Multiple times on one bumper normally. With practice, you'll be able to feel the blade bitting into the PPF a little as you pull it across the surface. Listen for the squeak. You won't always get the squeak, but it's a great indicator that you're making a good cut.

Yes, but I have not recorded a video of me doing one. :( 2021 was before I was recording videos of my installs.
