For the M you can change the 3.0 CSL to anthing you want (as long as its a real M car) and if you go into DZM_variante and set it to S63 it shows an RPM The M Sport also shows the M stripes next to the speed limit info
@@legacydriven Miscommunication sorry about that. What I mean by as long as it’s a real M car is like M2, 3, 4, 5, 8, X3 M, X4 M, X5 M, and X6 M. Don’t think you can code M340i with the M layout. You could try tho!
@@samuelfreericks168 So the map is a separate variant of the cluster as it can be adjusted via Idrive. Thank you! 🙏 and I believe the HUD interface is customizable but only in expert mode while coding using Bimmercode. I may be wrong, but I believe this is the case. Also, I don’t think the M layout via HUD is available for all models. So it definitely depends on what model you have. Hope this helps 👍🏼
How do you turn off the trip calculator display on M340i? I accidentally hit it and all I can do is get it to toggle through the diff calculations, but I don’t know how to turn off the trip calculator and make it go away so that it goes back to the standard instrument cluster display.

Hi, I believe the M340 should offer pressure monitoring within the Idrive 8. Does yours not show? I know only M cars offer tire temps, but pressure should be standard within the instrument cluster.
Hmm. 2022 is still ID 7, correct? Or is yours ID8? Also, the 3.0 showed up on mine simply because it wasn’t a full M car so it displayed as standard. It should show under one of the M displays…. Unless an update has changed this since the time of filming this video. That may be the case!
Thanks for the tip man. Just a quick question, at the end of the video when u said have the car running u mean by having the engine running and everything on just being on park. At that time am I still able/is it necessary to press the start/stop button 3 times for diagnostic mode?
Good question. So to clarify on that point! I was referencing having the battery at a sufficient charge prior to starting your coding session. If you know your battery is in good shape (newer and/or charged fully) or it’s been on a trickle charger, then you have no concern as the coding software these days are way faster than it used to be. IF your car has been sitting for a while, or, weak battery then I was saying you may want to drive the car for a while to place a charge on the battery. Diagnostic mode should be entered when engine is off, in park, and battery at a sufficient charged state. 👍🏼
I am wondering. I would just want the layout to change to M sport mode gauge only when in Sport mode. Like when you put it in sport plus the screen is totally different on a M car.
Well the screen will change to a visually different layout in each mode, depending on what you select, the same as OEM. The difference is that this allows you to access an array of different options not provided in the OE screen, but available for your model (or other models)
Not that I’m aware of, no. This is not interfering with any diagnostic or engine coding and does not change how the car performs. It’s simply a visual alternative that you’re unlocking within the controller that was not provided by BMW from the factory for your specific car BUT is BMW compatible given it’s their layout.
@@peterpetru1032 understood. So that is based on driver assistance package. If you have that, and the accompanying sensors you should be good. Otherwise, I don’t believe you can code this in with Bimmercode. Hope this helps!

Great video. Question, after coding in the different instrument clusters do you think the fuel gauge is correct? I have a 21’ 330i and I coded in the M performance 160 cluster and I’m not sure if my fuel gauge is accurate anymore. I noticed the needle dropped a bit from the position it was in before the coding. Also the digital range number dropped as well. In my case it went from 311 miles to 260 after coding.
Thank you 🙏 and interesting observation. I never noticed a difference with my fuel gauge, however, I do know that the visual graphics are different from layout to layout so it may just appear lower but in reality the fuel level never changed. If that makes sense?
Hi, so the M340i has the auto start/stop button in the center control panel which is the easiest way to turn off that feature. Alternatively any of the sport modes automatically deactivate auto start/stop as well. Regarding eco pro mode. I’m not sure that is possible via coding. It may have to be done through expert mode inside of Bimmercode. However, anyone using eco mode most likely wants to utilize auto/start stop.
