Lots to work on with Laura's classes if you are an improver like me. Clapping on the even beats or on the 8th beat while dancing 8 count. Switching from two bars of 6 count with two bars of 8 count, back and forth. Onward. Thanks Laura.

Love the concept! Love your videos! I would love to have RUclips chapters in place to jump to certain sections for easier rewatching in the future!
I would love see the musical goal written out on the screen as well! ☺️🙏🏾☺️

YES! Chapters - an easy fix. I'll get on it. Also, the musical goals would be good too. I'll make sure to add that for next time

Thanks for the video, Laura! And glad to see new videos coming out of your new house.
Some friends usually ask me, then how do i find the beat 1. And I have no clue to explain. Do you usually get this question?

I do get this question, and I haven't found a great answer for it yet. I'm working on putting together a video, but it's definitely tricky because there's no ONE tell. It's such a dissatisfying answer, but the best thing - I think - is to just listen to music, try to find the one, and then keep trying.

@@LauraGlaess Nathan Diaz in SF created some videos to help people find the one 10 years ago. He found it useful for students www.youtube.com/@NateDiggity/search?query=find%20the%20one

I find that on some songs I’m able to find the eight and one without a problem, for example on Taint Like That (beautiful music, BTW). But I had more trouble with Broadway. You said clap on the eight and at first I thought you were clapping on the four or six. Oh well, patience 🙂
BTW, love the bikes in the background. I’m really into road biking and mountain biking.🚴‍♀
Anyway, “Do that dance! Dance, dance, dance dance!” ❤

You're totally right - practice practice. It'll happen.
Yay bikes! I love it. My favorite way to get around if I can.

`hello... I love your channel its so interesting I'm trying to learn about swing for and essay I'm righting its really from the beginning I am trying to learn... I was wondering is swing choreographed? or is it just improvisation or both? :)

It can be choreographed but this dance is rooted in being more improvisation! There's a foundation of basic steps on how you move in this partnered swing, which is Lindy Hop, but after that it's mostly improv with skills in solid partner connection and groove to the music! Also some famous solo impro from the earlier generation of Lindy Hoppers have become well known moves/routines we do today in the community so one can feed into the other (trickerations is one of them!)- Hope that helps!
