Great video. Very helpful, thank you. My T5 transporter now has an external USB port that's out of the way and doesn't disconnect the phone every time I knock the plug when using the touch screen. I was lucky when I got down to the board, there were 2 additional unused USB headers on the PCB. Made the soldering job a bit easier.

Ganesh sir very much professional work, great. I read your TeamBHP ownership review in which you have mentioned how to replace the fuel lid actuator of your VW Polo. Kindly make the DIY video of that replacement as I also wanted to replace for my Skoda Rapid. Thanks.
Hi Navjot, yes it’s a simple replacement. There’s also a neat trick to implement something on it in addition which will help so many of them in an emergency. I’ve to click that part as well. Will upload it as soon as I finish the installation. 🙂👍🏻

Hi. You can buy one from Aliexpress and have it shipped to a friend or relative in Dubai or Singapore (or some other country). They can carry it for you or ship it from there to your place. Just be sure not to buy the RCD 360. Look for a noname unit which has the SD card, aux jack and USB port.
Hey Ganesh love your DIY videos. What do you recommend to get for a 2015 polo? 330 or 340? My requirement is just apple car play/maps And what would be the best way to source this in Bangalore/Kochi?
A 330 plus or 340 has a larger screen. Get a unit which supports CarPlay and has the PQ quadlock connector not the MQB type quadlock connector. A lot of dealers are selling Chinese units which has a fake ‘Made in Poland’ sticker and the MQB quadlock connector.
Can we assume, an update in near future to make those RCD 340 g plus wireless android auto and Apple car play capable. Your DIY is visually appealing and so satisfied.
Hi, the problem with wireless CarPlay adapters is they are very fussy. A lot of users have faced issues with these adapters and they are very expensive too. Something like 2-3k is understandable but not 15k. Never thought of this upgrade thus. Thanks for the comment man. Appreciate it. 🙂

I heard that if it has not been done that way then head unit asked for error code? Q2. At the time of reinstalling the same should the ignition to be kept on before attaching the socket? It may ask for error code?
Yes stock infotainment systems which were installed from the factory comes with a 4 digit code. Your service centre can tell you the code. My unit doesn’t ask for one since I sourced it from Aliexpress.
I want to move USB port in front of shifter on my TDI, ...is it basically the same steps, except of course the new USB port on the consul? Great job, thanks...
Hi Mario, it is routed behind the unit and through the centre tunnel to the co-driver side. There’s a big gap if you peek your head through the footwell towards the driver as well as co-driver.

Currently I am facing an issue where stereo does not power off once the key is removed. I saw in one of your post on team-bhp using the fuse tap on slot 16 but it doesn't work. I’d suggest taking the car to a good audio installer who knows his job. This looks like someone who doesn’t know how to connect the unit properly.
I was looking for a rear USB solution for my Vento for a long time but all of the other solutions I found needed a retrofit kit. Thank you for coming up with a simple solution. If yes, did you notice any tearing/cracking of the wire in the long run? I have a feeling that the wire might tear when it rubs against the perimeter of the hole over a period of time.
Hi, I drilled a hole to route the cable from the unit. I used a file to remove the sharp edges and tied the cable to the PCB using a cable tie so it can’t be pulled. It’s a simple trick but works well.

Though I am not professional to do it myself, I am looking for some one or service center who can do this in bangalore or kochi. Also I want the usb port to be added just beside of cup holder as in your video. Could you pls help me.
Hi Suhail. Service centres won’t help you with this. Your best bet is to get the unit out and take it to someone who does professional soldering. The service centres which do repairs of audio video equipment. You can find many in Cochin who will help you out. Just show them this clip and they’ll help you. As for the USB port, if you want it to be installed on the console, you’ll have to cut a hole and insert the USB socket. Connect the wiring harness which will have 4 cables to the unit. It’s simple. Let me know if you have any doubts.
Hi Deepak, I am not sure what your benchmark of sound quality is but for a stock music system it sounds quite okay. But you cannot compare it to an aftermarket unit from say Pioneer or Alpine as they get better quality DSPs in the unit. See if you can adjust the equaliser in the unit and tune the settings to your liking. Good luck!

When I did the checking, what I did was using the delay timer circuit, I connected the RCA output to the TV’s input to check if the signal is coming properly. I used a long cable to test this.
@@GaneshBalan I am getting the camera output display in android HU. I only swapped the HU to RCD340. So the connections are correct I believe. I have an aftermarket parking sensor module which takes input from same reverse light positive and ground. Do you think that’s interfering?
@unnikrishnan7913 the aftermarket parking sensor may be the culprit. Can’t be sure unless you disconnect that unit, connect the reverse camera and check. Please check that. Also long press the power button to reset the head unit once. I’ve noticed that sometimes after VCDS coding, it requires a reset.
Hi , I am unable to remove antenna wire from back of rcd 320 . It seems to have a plastic clip which needs to be pressed. Can you guide ?
Hi Shashi, to remove the antenna connector, there’s a plastic tab that needs to be pulled out not pressed. Pull it out and pull the connector out.
ME: Is there anything that u can't do or don't know sir🤔.⁉️
Gannu: Yes lifting a train 🚂 engine with both hands.
🤣
Gannu bahi how to identify genuine RCD340Gplus plz help me out
Hi, if you’re referring to factory fitted units that are not taken out of the Polo/Vento/Rapid and the Chinese ones - look for the Aux 3.5 mm jack, USB port and SD port (not the microSD port). The part number from the System info should read 6RD 035 187 A/B/C/D/E.
I have rcd340 unable to access carplay help me
Does your RCD340 have android auto and CarPlay functionality? Is this a stock unit taken out from a VW/Skoda car or did you purchase it from one of the sellers?
Hello Sir, This is really amazing. I want to add a rear usb to my RCD340 VW polo 2018 model.
@@GaneshBalan Thank you sir.
No problem Suhail.
I mostly listen to music through both Apple Car Play and Bluetooth!
You’ll have to adjust the system’s equaliser first. Do a manual setting. If it doesn’t help, you’ll need to install a four channel amp.
Hi sir i hope you reply back. I am from Thrissur i want to meet you. Is it possible ?
Hi Prasanth. Call me Ganesh dude. I’m from Palakkad and I work at Chennai. We can meet some time whenever both of us are free and are available. 👍🏻

Hello rcd 340 sound quality poor
Hi Deepak, I am not sure what your benchmark of sound quality is but for a stock music system it sounds quite okay. But you cannot compare it to an aftermarket unit from say Pioneer or Alpine as they get better quality DSPs in the unit. See if you can adjust the equaliser in the unit and tune the settings to your liking. Good luck!
