One of the highest optioned 442s! About 35 options, some I've never heard of. #s match and heavily documented. Ground up restored to factory specs. It looks and functions like a new car.
Documentation- 2 build sheets, order form, pre-delivery check list, invoice, window sticker, protect-o-plate, glovebox pouch, manuals etc. It also has complete owner history. It was bought new for a 16 year old girl, we have a letter from talking about the car.
EXTERIOR: Outstanding fit and finish, better than new. Every inch is laser straight, panels fit precisely. No rust or damage. It has 1970 only sport mirrors and inside hood lock. Gorgeous factory Twilight Blue metallic without a vinyl top. It is laid out evenly and polished like glass. Jambs are detailed. Really, this paint is amazing. Correctly painted on silver stripes match the wheels. The bumpers fit really well and are rechromed. Emblems are new. Stainless is all straight and polished. Rare optional chrome on top of the doors. Grills, lenses, weatherstrips are all excellent. Windshield was replaced. Restored wheels. Reproduction Wide Oval tires still have the nubs on the tread. Extremely rare Night Watch headlights, they stay on for one minute after the car is shut off.
INTERIOR: Excellent throughout, unabused. Full of options too and they all seem to be functioning. Of course the upholstery, door panels, headliner and carpet looks like new. The knobs, switches and trim all look new too. It has power windows, locks and seat. It even has power seat back release. In between the bucket seats is a mint console with the Hurst dual gate shifter. On the floor is a set of reproduction floor mats and mint set of deluxe seatbelts. On the tilt column is cruise control and a sport wheel. The dash area is mint. It has optional clock and speed minder. It also has an Am-Fm stereo and 8-track player. Correct mesh rear speaker tray with window defogger. It even has the Oldsmobile vanity mirror. Lamp group includes a light on the mirror and glovebox light.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # match Rocket 455-365 hp motor. It is restored to concourse condition. Detailed down to the stickers, Delco battery topper, spring clamp cables, GM clamps and hoses. Every component is restored. Complete down to the radiator flaps, hood insulation, heat riser tube etc. Correct open face alternator, washers are hooked up. Features include factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes, under hood light. The air blows cold.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Restored like new. Complete with restored jack assembly, lug wrench and a spare. Optional rubber Olds mat over a new correct gray felt mat. Excellent metal with a neatly applied spatter paint with a clear coat. Under the trunk lid and jamb paint is as nice as the car. Weatherstrip and decals were replaced. Optional trunk light and power trunk release.
UNDERSIDE: Under this car is very proper and tidy. The floors appear to be 100% rust free original metal. It has the ride and handling package which includes sway bars and boxed rear control arms. It also has heavy duty springs and a rare dealer installed Jac Pac Delco air shock system. Suspension and steering were rebuilt. Correct type dual exhaust with the trumpet tips going through the bumper. The fuel system has been replaced including the tank. Disc brakes in front, the e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is very clean. Original Turbo 400 automatic transmission with its 1970 tag still riveted to the side. The driveshaft was restored. In back is a 12 bolt posi with 3.08 gears and the W-25 finned aluminum cover.
I love this car. I've been doing this my whole life and I'm going to tell you this one is exceptional. Fit, finish and function is awesome. Everything I tried works down to the night watch lights, seatback release, 8-track player, light on the mirror and on and on. The list of options, amount of documentation really sets this 442 apart from the others. The factory colors are highly desirable. I even love how the car sounds, deep and lopey. This could be in the world's best collection or in your garage. Whoever gets it will not be disappointed.

I had a Levi's denim jacket with a '442' patch on the back. I was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America for a few years.
I still have the patch. Love that 442!

Everything about this Olds is beautiful, including the way they incorporated the dual pipes into the bumper, with flared tips, for my money, the nicest looking muscle car of the error , and I had a 69 GOAT, and was jealous when guys drove by in a 442

It's blowing my mind that a girl's Dad went out and bought his daughter a 442 with a 455! I've had a few just like this and even though it's not a W-30 it's no slouch by any means! He must've really loved his daughter and trusted her driving skills. Really nice car!

All I can say is Jay this car is screaming your name, this is undoubtedly the most optioned 442 in Oldsmobile history, everything fits, functions and is so well taken care of, I could be wrong but it sounds like it's got a mild service cam, you can't duplicate the sound these cars make, it's like Harley Davidsons sound. I Don't know how much it's selling for but it's worth every dime!!

My very first car was almost a 1970 442 4-speed convertible... Back in 1978... And it needed some work, used and abused & size 60 slicks on the rear.....But I couldn't convince the mechanic to sell it to me because he was a Oldsmobile collector....lol

The heck with the critics Jay! I don't know of a single car guy from that era who ever pronounced it four four two ( 4-4-2.)
It was always pronounced four forty two (442)
Regardless of how you pronounce it though, its an exceptional piece of machinery Jay.
One of the, if not the nicest 70 442 I've ever seen!
    Won't last long.

I ordered one for my 70- 442 in 1976, I have it to this day. Been in storage since 1989. a little over 70 k on her. I found a front-end damaged W-30 CAR AND THE HOOD WAS CRUSHED BADLY. I BOUGHT ALL THE PARTS I NEEDED OF THAT CAR FOR $150.00 To answer your question, I've been told it only came with the W-30, or the W-31 cars from the factory. The 1972 W-30 was a dealer packed option that you could order. Not sure if a W-30 cam motor was installed at the factory & then the car shipped, withe dealer installing the hood, wheel wells, HD Clutch, and 3:90 rear end... Who knows!! I've owned my 70 since 1976, and heard so many stories, at the car shows, I STOPPED GOING!!
