For a second I thought you were one person and tried to add two versions of yourself in the same frame lol. Nice to know the channel and its amazing how original this content is. My mom used to watch these films all the time on tv here in Brazil... I thought they were very boring and badly made but i was about 8 or 7 at the time.
For his movies in the 1960s my favorite is "Follow That Dream." A close second is "Wild In The Country." But Gladys Presley didn't die just before the filming of the latter. She passed away three years prior. The character of Wayne in "Loving You" was played by Ken Becker. He played the same kind of role in three other Elvis films. But in "Loving You" he was 26 years old --just four years older than Elvis --certainly not a 38 year old. The yoga scene in "East Come --Easy Go" was detestable to Elvis. He flew into a rage in his trailer afterwards. When he was asked to do "Old MacDonald's Farm" --he said something to the effect of "Has it really come down to this?" The song "Hey, Hey, Hey" was one of his worst movie songs. A runner-up would be "Dominick" which he was supposed to be singing to a bull. Elvis objected, so he sang the song to two girls which would have been puzzling to any viewer.
Elvis is a great actor he can fit to all genres. his movies are great for entertainment too. movies are mainly for entertainment purposes, isn't it? what the hell those critics are complaining about. even now Elvis movies are still entertaining to the younger generation like me. good or bad movies depend on viewers' taste, not those envy individual critics.
This was a fun little ride. Let me preface this by saying that I like Elvis movies because I like Elvis. My personal favorites are "Follow That Dream" and "It Happened at the World's Fair," and I don't think "Girl Happy" gets enough credit for being what it is -- an escapist Elvis farce. (But I don't think I've seen it in the 20 years since I've been married, so there's that.) I haven't watched some of the early dramas with an adult eye in a long time, but I have heard that despite its low Rotten Tomatoes score, "Change of Habit" has gotten more positive critical reviews as time has passed, in part because it was one of the first movies that tackled autism even if what we know now isn't what we knew then; there were some pretty heavy themes going on there, and the soundtrack is quite good. I've always thought that "Tickle Me" was the worst movie, but growing up it was also one that I had seen least. The movie that is a struggle to watch is "Double Trouble"; the whole Weir Brothers thing turns me off. Other thoughts: Although people want to rail on Elvis, there were some decent directors and producers who should probably shoulder some blame. "Flaming Star" was directed by Don Siegel, and Hal Wallis made Oscar-winning movies with the receipts of his Elvis movies. After a certain point, the scripts never rose to the talent of the star. Story I heard was that "Charro" was supposed to be a much more gritty western, and Elvis and "someone" were talking about how the script had changed so much and Elvis asked why? "They wanted an Elvis movie," he responded. To which Elvis said, "Screw 'em, let's just get this thing over with." BTW, Elvis bashing the dude's head against the jail cell bars is probably my favorite Elvis scene; it makes me giggle when he gives the guy a headache. You can find Raquel Welch taking a shower. I think I remember seeing Terri Garr, too, but don't remember where. The movies aren't 70 years old (yet). C'mon Dudes, you're teachers, and some of us are holding on to our youth like there's no tomorrow. Like someone else mentioned, you have to understand that these were made in a different time, so the lens you look at them with has to allow for that. These were largely '60s beach pictures and Frankie Avalon could have just as easily been the star. Elvis will typically be criticized for not being a great actor, but Frank Sinatra wouldn't have made those roles any better. The thing that bothers me is that the mid- to late-60s movies have tainted Elvis' legacy in Hollywood in much the same way the last two years of Elvis' life tainted his concert legacy and made him more of a punchline than he deserved. "Vegas Elvis" was pretty awesome until he became so physically miserable and his health and appearance went south. By the way, there was nothing regrettable about your list. It had to be done, and you guys treated it fairly. Keep up the good work.
I agree. I'm not from the US, I'm from the Philippines so we don't have a preconceived negative notion of elvis. I'm a new fan since the film and I'm on an elvis marathon. So far his 70s output and concerts were good, he was thin up to 74 and chubby in 75 but just got very overweight in the last 2 years of his life but his health was deteriorating rapidly and that 2 years does not represent the 8 years of the 70s. I've watched all but 4 of his films and found a lot of really good films, a lot of fun rewatchable films, and a lot of ok films, and really just 1-3 bad ones, kissin cousins being the worst imo.
I am a big Elvis fan and I read some comments criticizing this video. I just want to remind everybody that Elvis hated most of these movies and once said that it made him physically sick to play these characters. I have all the movies and agree to this video in most part. Nevertheless, I enjoy them, because I love to see Elvis soooo much. To me he is the greatest entertainer that ever lived ❤❤❤😘😘😘💋💋💋
The highlight of Clambake is watching Elvis walk around the boat shop, singing You Don't Know Me. Elvis should have had that song instead of Ray Charles. Nothing against Ray, but Elvis sings it much better.
@@H8L920 Even though I also very much like Elvis' version of "You Don't Know Me", Eddy Arnold actually recorded it before Ray Charles did. It was written by Eddy Arnold and Cindy Walker. The song as been recorded by many singers.
The lady in the Yoga song is the lady who played "The Bride of Frankenstein". That movie was from the same year Elvis was born. Her name was Elsa Lanchester.
My Favourite's are '"Loving you", "Jailhouse Rock," "G.I.Blues", "Paradise Hawaiian Style", "Roustabout" "King Creole" and one of my guilty pleasures is the awful, dreadful and dire "Tickle Me" which I only watch to look at the beautiful Jocelyn Lane.
I'm currently making my way through as many Elvis films as possible after seeing the new Elvis film and absolutely loving it. I was so excited to see King Creole at the top of your list as I think it showed off every inch of Elvis' talent. I would've personally put Jailhouse Rock a bit higher as it's a personal favourite of mine and it was such a turnaround to his usual personality and showed off what he could do so well. As for Easy Come, Easy Go, that yoga scene RUINED that film for me. It was so incredibly painful to sit through that I couldn't even believe what I was watching was actually in the film. Really enjoyed hearing your rankings!
Now in my 60's, it was always a blast going to the theatres to watch the Elvis movies. They bring back movies to the theatres from years past. Why they don't they bring back an Elvis Festival. I think alot of people would love to see them on the bug screen again.
There is a Elvis Festival in Bad Nauheim Germany annually around 16 August. In their program they always pick an Elvis movie and show it on big screen. I love this 3 day festival in this beautiful small town. Elvis lived in Bad Nauheim during his military service. They even have a statue in his military uniform. ❤❤❤😘😘😘 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 🇩🇪 🇩🇪
My top 6 favorite Elvis film that I find rewatchable: jailhouse rock, loving you, wild in the country, king creole, roustabout, and flaming star. If we make it top 11, I'd add: live a little love a little, fun in acapulco, kid galahad, charro!, and follow that dream
You don’t know Elsa Lanchester when you see her? By the time she played the yoga instructor in EASY COME, EASY GO (1967), she’d had a 40 year career as a star of the stage, the screen, and the recording industry. She was part of that first generation of singers to become known as “recording artists”. Most famously, she was the original BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1935).
Great discussion! Thanks for doing this. Been an Elvis fan since I was 9 years old as the movies were often on weekends during the day (early 80s). It can be hard to rank because, for example, Stay Away Joe is in many ways his worst movie but there are some excellent scenes and Elvis looks so cool and comfortable in his skin. Note when he is at the party and casually grabs a match out of his friends shirt pocket to light his cigar. Elvis looks great in this and is having fun. Too bad it’s such a bad movie. Girls Girls Girls is another one where Elvis looks fantastic and has great energy but the script is very light and he deserved better. I actually enjoyed Clmabake as I love the prince and the pauper premise, chemistry with Shelly Fabares, Bill Bixby (who I grew up with watching Incredible Hulk, some good songs, and an overall heartwarming story). Having said all that, here’s my stab at a ranking: 31. Easy Come, Easy Go 30. Double Trouble 29. Kissin Cousins 28. Speedway 27. Frankie and Johnny 26. Tickle Me 25. Harum Scarum 24. The Trouble with Girls 23. Paradise Hawaiian Style 22. Stay away Joe (because of Elvis energy and look) 21. Spinout 20. Charro 19. Clambake 18. Girl Happy 17. Girls Girls Girls 16. GI Blues (love the soundtrack tho) 15. Jailhouse Rock 14. Fun in Acapulco 13. Live a Little, Love a Little 12. It Happened at the Worlds Fair 11. Roustabout 10. Loving You 9. Viva Las Vegas 8. Flaming Star 7. Love me Tender 6. Kid Galahad 5. Change of Habit 4. Blue Hawaii 3. Follow that Dream 2. Wild in the Country 1. King Creole
Charro looks like a 1960's TV show, in part, because it was directed by a guy that had directed/produced the TV shows Gunsmoke, Rawhide, and others. Also, CBS Television was involved with National General, the company that produced Charro!
They're all good. Movies Because without ELVIS Being in them. You have No. Movie and. That's all That matters to me Just. Seeing cool. ELVIS Entertain us. THE KING
After seeing elvis 2022, my husband and I are also on a quest to watch every Elvis movie! We are working through the list a few every week. I know some will be pretty bad, but I am determined to watch them all. We have decided to sprinkle the bad ones in throughout the good and average so we are not left watching all the bad ones in a row! We were also very pleasantly surprised with Wild in the Country and feel King Creole was his best and just a good allaround movie. Did you know the director also directed Casablanca. Once you know that you can definitely see the similarities! I personally love Viva Las Vegas for the songs and dance sequences and chemistry with Ann Margret. That one can send you down a ‘what would have happened if he chosen Ann in stead of Priscilla’ rabbit hole!
MY FAVORITE ELVIS MOVIES: 10. LIVE A LITTLE, LOVE A LITTLE (1968) 9. CHARRO (1969) 8. CHANGE OF HABIT (1969) 7. VIVA LAS VEGAS (1964) 6. BLUE HAWAII (1961) 5. G.I. BLUES (1960) 4. FOLLOW THAT DREAM (1962) 3. JAILHOUSE ROCK (1957) 2. FLAMING STAR (1960) 1. KING CREOLE (1958)
The point was to show off Elvis which he deserved. Because of Parker, Elvis couldn’t follow his dreams. Any criticism of Elvis is not warranted at all. Elvis forever ❤️❤️❤️
Loved this review! Absolutely agree about King Creole being his best, and I do think that is a must see movie if you’re watching 50s movies. The one I think you got the most wrong was The Trouble With Girls. I actually would have put it in the top third of the list. Really fun video, thanks 🎉
I like King Creole best also. The rhyming movies, Double Trouble and Harum Scarum were the ones I rated the worst. Elvis was so cute I still watched them.
Judy Tyler that was his leading lady in Jailhouse Rock was killed with her husband a few weeks after the finished filming the movie driving cross country back east. Elvis was so upset that she was killed, I don't know if he ever watched it totally or even watched it.
iI know Elvis ddnt even bother to watch most of his own movies......thats what makes me appreciate his movie...because he didnt like them. I love King Creole and Flaming Star....but mostly the scripts just killed the movie. I think fans like I am would have watched Elvis tying his shoe for 90 min honestly . He was just great to look at.. Please be easy on Elvis. He is now becoming famous all over to a new generation. Dont destroy him.
A few things... 1. In Roustabout Raquel WELCH (not "Welk") was one of the girls in the outdoor shower scene. I don't remember Teri Garr in that film but I do remember her in a non speaking role in Viva Las Vegas. She was one of the dancers in the C'mon Everybody sequence 2. Future superstar Kurt Russell famously appeared in It Happened At The World's Fair as a kid who kicked Elvis in the leg! 16 years later Kurt would actually play Elvis in the 1979 miniseries of the same name. 3. Among Elvis' leading ladies were Carolyn Jones (Morticia Addams from the Addams Family) in King Creole, Barbara Eden (I Dream Of Jeannie) in Flaming Star, Bond Girl Ursula Andress (whos dialogue was dubbed by another actress) in Fun In Acapulco, and Donna Douglas (The Beverly Hillbillies) in Frankie & Johnnie. Most actresses served time in only one Elvis film each but Shelley Fabares from the Donna Reed Show was in three! (Girl Happy, Spinout and Clambake) 4. You are correct about Elvis not wanting to rewatch Loving You because his mother was in it. He also never watched Jailhouse Rock because his co-star Judy Tyler was killed in an auto accident shortly after principle photography wrapped and 3 months before the film was released. 5. The original title of Love Me Tender was The Reno Brothers but it was changed to capitalize on his latest single which was featured in the film. You guys briefly mentioned his leading lady Debra Paget. That very same year of 1956 she had a memorable role as the slave girl Lilia in the The Ten Commandments. Elvis reportedly developed a huge crush on her and allegedly even proposed but she wasn't interested. 6. Yes, that was the legendary Bill Bixby in Clambake and Speedway. Long before The Incredible Hulk he starred in the 60's comedy series My Favorite Martian and the early 70's comedy/drama The Courtship Of Eddie's Father.
Stay Away Joe is the worst out of the 31...but although Clambake is said to be bad, I like it much better than Harem Scarum, Easy Come Easy Go and Spinout.
“King Creole” is the only Elvis film I have on DVD. If it reminds you of James Dean, that’s probably because Dean was supposed to play Danny Fisher and Elvis replaced him after he died. It was helmed by Michael Curtiz, who directed “Casablanca” as well as a few other classics. The cast included Walter Matthau; Carolyn Jones (aka Morticia Addams); Dean Jagger; and Dolores Hart, who eventually left Hollywood behind and became a nun. Too bad she wasn’t cast in “Change of Habit”! I’ll probably pick up “Viva Las Vegas” at some point.
for me KING CREOLE. FLAMING STAR. BLUE HAWAI. WILD IN THE COUNTRY. TICKLE ME. VIVA LAS VEGAS. CHARRO. CHANGE OF HABIT. FOLLOW THAT DREAM. JAILHOUSE ROCK.LOVING YOU
12:19 "Did she sing"? "Not that I remember, I don't think so". This quote defines the lack of substance in the entire so-called and highly suspect "exhaustive" review.
The thing that bothered me about “King Creole” is you don’t get to see him perform “Hard Headed Woman” the hit single from the soundtrack. You only hear the end of it going into a bar…
That seems to be the case for a decent number of these. They’ve got great songs on the soundtracks that Elvis doesn’t perform in the movie. Like, was Night Life in Flaming Star?
KING CREOLE was originally going to be a James Dean movie. It was based on the Harold Robbins novel A Stone for Danny Fisher, which is about a boxer as opposed to a singer.
Frank Welker didn't voice Shaggy on Scoobie Doo. He did the voice of Fred and later did the voice of Scobbie. Shaggy was voiced by the great Casey Kasem of American Top 40 fame. Casey also did the voice of Robin on the original Batman cartoons.
All of Elvis movies WHICH HIS fans enjoyed to them they made them happy, not groovy or weird but. GUESS HE NEVER KNEW IT, But I. Know when he did concerts he loved his fans and he always said I. Just want to help you feel better for an hour OR two, DUH. Who else would say that to his fans. HE GAVE HIS ALL TO HIS FANS AND WAS A VERY GENEROUS MAN TO EVERYONE. HE GAVE SO MANY THINGS AWAY AND BOUGHT EXPENSIVE GIFTS, BECAUSE HE WZS A GIVER HE KNEW HOW IT WAS NOT TO HAVE ANYTHING AND HE WAS BLESSED MORE THAN HE EVER HAD.
@@randyharris3175 For his first time in acting, he was good. We must remember he had no lessons and was very young. It was a good way to introduce Elvis to his fans.
Agreed with GI Blues. Very boring except for two great songs. Disagree with 'Love Me Tender'. The only movie where I find Elvis annoying. Otherwise a decent list. One complaint: You find too many things "a little weird" which bothered me because 1. not everything you said is weird is actually weird, and 2. you are judging past behavior based on how people are trained to think in today's pc world. Not a fan of 'presentism'. In fact, I could argue that people back then were more 'normal' than today!
You know I actually agree with you about how many things we called weird- I think that’s just because it was unscripted and off the cuff, but I wish I’d been able to be a little more descriptive
All Elvis movies are good fun,,,and he looked Great on screen,,,film songs are great,,,,I'd like to see every film in HD,,,they shud all be on Netflix....
I have seen every movie Elvis made. but you named some I forgot! BTW Wild in the Country is my favorite. I saw it when I was REALLY young (I am 71) and still remember it. In Viva Las Vegas the song What I Say was written by Ray Charles and Elvis had to fight Col. Tom to get the song in the movie.
I have them all on dvd and blu ray I was born after his death as well, they are a product of their time and shouldn’t be judged in modern eyes Before Elvis movies you had the talking horses singing cowboys type of entertainment that made no sense it’s just entertainment for family’s to enjoy The elvis films weren’t made for Oscar’s and awards they was made for elvis fans and it was the only way most of the world could see him so he had to sing in them not every song is gonna be great but the films stand up purely based on Elvis alone
5 minutes into this video, you kept saying "us" but I thought the other person meant an unseen collaborator of the channel, it wasn't until you stood next to each other I realized you are two different people, or this is some "Kissing Cousins" style film trickery, idk I'm just starting the video.
HE WAS A GREATVA TOR AND THE GREATEST SINGER EVER OF ANY KIBD OF MUSIC ESPECIALLY GOSPEL, WHEN PLAY IT NOW YOU STILL FEEL HIS ANNOINTING ON THE MUSIC HE SANG FROM HIS HEART AND SOUL.
I appreciate all of the Elvis mov, ies, Back in the day, that was the only way one was able to see Elvis. Some are better than others, my favorite is Kid Galahad, Jailhouse Rock and King Creole. I have a silly weakness for Girl Happy.
@@arveespelien1116 it's one of my faves because it was on TV in the early 70's when I was a nipper at Christmas and my Dad had bought himself a cassette recorder and he put the microphone to the TV and recorded it,so we heard the songs over Xmas!
Well, regardless of how we view the movies that Elvis hated doing, none of them never went under! EP still made his money from them and there still around!
I love to watch Elvis movies, they are a combination of drama, comedy, action, romance, and musical and I don't care what are others talking about. other says, Elvis should have done serious movies what? all movies are not serious, all are scripted and designed to please or entertain viewers period.
The rage reduction theories of the 1960s were very progressive at the time of Change of Habit. You can't judge the film from today's perspective. But, you're right; the movie is better than most people give it credit for.
super weird comment section. a lot of all caps, and a lot of cranks offended at the idea that some of these throwaway movies from 60 years ago haven’t aged too well.
Yeah, whenever we write something Elvis-related, we tend to get a decent number of older commenters who really don’t like Elvis stuff to be criticized, even mildly
@@Rewiretube well you seem to deal with it well. keep it up. i’m new to your channel and i enjoyed this video. i’ve only ever seen blue hawaii so i might try to check out a couple of others that were high up on your list. thanks
I have seen every Elvis film, most more than once. Most of the later ones are only worth one watching. My Favorites: 1) King Creole 2) Girl Happy 3) Loving You 4) Change of Habit 5) Kid Galahad I didn't like Jailhouse Rock as much as most people seem to. I love this 3 day festival in this beautiful small town. Elvis lived in Bad Nauheim during his military service. They even have a statue in his military uniform. ❤❤❤😘😘😘 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 🇩🇪 🇩🇪
Must’ve been an amazing experience to watch Elvis in theaters! Hope one day they Re show some of his films
@@sabinekoch6208 Very interesting, I had no idea. Was Elvis out and about in the town during his military service?
My top 6 favorite Elvis film that I find rewatchable: jailhouse rock, loving you, wild in the country, king creole, roustabout, and flaming star. If we make it top 11, I'd add: live a little love a little, fun in acapulco, kid galahad, charro!, and follow that dream
Lance Le Gault was the double for Elvis. He played on the A-Team and was the Army leader after the guys. He was in several movies with Elvis.
Also played tambourine on the '68 Special.
We really only know her from Bride of Frankenstein, which is one of my all-time favorites!
Liked both of your reviews. Agree with your Number One.🎯
Having said all that, here’s my stab at a ranking:
31. Easy Come, Easy Go
30. Double Trouble
29. Kissin Cousins
28. Speedway
27. Frankie and Johnny
26. Tickle Me
25. Harum Scarum
24. The Trouble with Girls
23. Paradise Hawaiian Style
22. Stay away Joe (because of Elvis energy and look)
21. Spinout
20. Charro
19. Clambake
18. Girl Happy
17. Girls Girls Girls
16. GI Blues (love the soundtrack tho)
15. Jailhouse Rock
14. Fun in Acapulco
13. Live a Little, Love a Little
12. It Happened at the Worlds Fair
11. Roustabout
10. Loving You
9. Viva Las Vegas
8. Flaming Star
7. Love me Tender
6. Kid Galahad
5. Change of Habit
4. Blue Hawaii
3. Follow that Dream
2. Wild in the Country
1. King Creole
Charro looks like a 1960's TV show, in part, because it was directed by a guy that had directed/produced the TV shows Gunsmoke, Rawhide, and others.
Also, CBS Television was involved with National General, the company that produced Charro!
Cool factoids! We didn’t know!
They're all good. Movies
Because without ELVIS
Being in them. You have
No. Movie and. That's all
That matters to me
Just. Seeing cool. ELVIS
Entertain us. THE KING
Enjoyed watching. Brought back lots of memories. My favorite is Wild in the country.
I like Viva Las Vegas and Speedway... same plot
The chemistry with Ann Margaret was great! If you find you liked one we didn’t or you didn’t like one we did, you’ll have to let us know!
I LOVE THEM ALL! I HAVE 18 OF THEM!
The bass player in girl happy is Bing Crosby's son
That’s cool!
Gary Crosby.
MY FAVORITE ELVIS MOVIES:
10. LIVE A LITTLE, LOVE A LITTLE (1968)
9. CHARRO (1969)
8. CHANGE OF HABIT (1969)
7. VIVA LAS VEGAS (1964)
6. BLUE HAWAII (1961)
5. G.I. BLUES (1960)
4. FOLLOW THAT DREAM (1962)
3. JAILHOUSE ROCK (1957)
2. FLAMING STAR (1960)
1. KING CREOLE (1958)
The point was to show off Elvis which he deserved. Because of Parker, Elvis couldn’t follow his dreams. Any criticism of Elvis is not warranted at all. Elvis forever ❤️❤️❤️
Girl happy was one of my favorites
PROTIP: Don't try it
Elvis was an amazing singer and actor. There’s that.
Thanks for doing this! I know it was a bunch of movies to go through (some very bad) but now I know which ones to avoid and which ones to watch
My kids love Charro and Girl Happy.
Girl Happy was a lot of fun!
I enjoyed both as well actually
iI know Elvis ddnt even bother to watch most of his own movies......thats what makes me appreciate his movie...because he didnt like them.
We both teach lessons about Elvis in our classes to spread the gospel of rock n roll
Personally, 'Follow That Dream' is his best.
love your reviews on the films very funny
A few things...
1. In Roustabout Raquel WELCH (not "Welk") was one of the girls in the outdoor shower scene. I don't remember Teri Garr in that film but I do remember her in a non speaking role in Viva Las Vegas. She was one of the dancers in the C'mon Everybody sequence
(Girl Happy, Spinout and Clambake)
I liked clambake a lot too but kissin cousins was the worst for me
Stay Away Joe, Seedway and Girl Happy are very bad. Blue Hawaii, Girls Girls Girls, Rostabout, Wild in the Country and G.I. Blues are fun
JAILHOUSE ROCK.LOVING YOU
Elvis movies were more great and believable than the Frankie and Annette movies or Gidget.
Because Elvis was in them.
In Wild in the Country, Hope Lange played the older woman. He feel in love with her and ends up helping and saving her.
12:19 "Did she sing"? "Not that I remember, I don't think so".
This quote defines the lack of substance in the entire so-called and highly suspect "exhaustive" review.
Lol dude, we had fun watching a lot of movies and talking about them, it's not that serious.
@@Rewiretube Now that's a more fitting title. Congrats!
@@asinger2968 Thanks for the watch!
@@headwhop26 Cheers!
Great video guys. Funny though, some of my favourites were at the bottom of the list lol.
Which ones were those?
The thing that bothered me about “King Creole” is you don’t get to see him perform “Hard Headed Woman” the hit single from the soundtrack. You only hear the end of it going into a bar…
That seems to be the case for a decent number of these. They’ve got great songs on the soundtracks that Elvis doesn’t perform in the movie. Like, was Night Life in Flaming Star?
But at least you do hear a little snippet of “Hard Headed Woman” as background noise… that just seemed to add insult to the injury.. 😄
@@Rewiretube No... Night Life was recorded for VIVA LAS VEGAS, but wasn't used in the movie.
You’re right! We love Casey Kasem in those old Batman cartoons
He loved his fans, we loved him back 100 times over.
Surprised you didn't know much of the iconic actor Walter Matthau.
Unfortunately we were only like 10 when he died
elvis movies are very enjoyable ... lots of fun, girls, action, and songs !
Some of them are a bore fest, but i agree with you, some are very cool for a laid back afternoon watch
Elvis didn't like his performance in Love Me Tender fact.
@@randyharris3175 For his first time in acting, he was good. We must remember he had no lessons and was very young. It was a good way to introduce Elvis to his fans.
@@H8L920 Yes but he didn't like his acting in the movie. He talks about it.
Guys remember Elvis wanted to do serious movies and was a great actor, but who I call "Fake Parker" came up with the movies.
TODAYMS MUSIC ISN,T EVEN MUSIC ANYBODY CAN BE A MUSICIAN JUST RAP. AW THE GOOD OLD DAYS.
Gi Blues one of his most sucessful movies way off 25
I ,LOVED CHARRO MOVIE, SORRY GUYS THESE WRRE ALL GOOD MOVIES WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE FROM. NOW ?
All Elvis movies are good fun,,,and he looked Great on screen,,,film songs are great,,,,I'd like to see every film in HD,,,they shud all be on Netflix....
I have seen every movie Elvis made. but you named some I forgot! BTW Wild in the Country is my favorite. I saw it when I was REALLY young (I am 71) and still remember it. In Viva Las Vegas the song What I Say was written by Ray Charles and Elvis had to fight Col. Tom to get the song in the movie.
the obsession with women measurements was actually not odd then. Movie mags ALWAYS mentioned the measurements of actresses.
Understandable! Some of them are quite forgettable! lol
@@patmanchester8045 Oof, not a fan of that. I guess society's just less numerical about it these days
Gi blues is his best movie I think
I have them all on dvd and blu ray I was born after his death as well, they are a product of their time and shouldn’t be judged in modern eyes
Before Elvis movies you had the talking horses singing cowboys type of entertainment that made no sense it’s just entertainment for family’s to enjoy
The elvis films weren’t made for Oscar’s and awards they was made for elvis fans and it was the only way most of the world could see him so he had to sing in them not every song is gonna be great but the films stand up purely based on Elvis alone
Paradise Hawaian , Rostabout, Tickle me and Easy come 👏👏
“Was Elvis Racist” video brought me to your channel but being teachers got me to SUBSCRIBE 👍🏾
Thanks for the sub!
@@Rewiretube no problem 👍🏾
5 minutes into this video, you kept saying "us" but I thought the other person meant an unseen collaborator of the channel, it wasn't until you stood next to each other I realized you are two different people, or this is some "Kissing Cousins" style film trickery, idk I'm just starting the video.
Lol glad we could accidentally give you that experience
HE WAS A GREATVA TOR AND THE GREATEST SINGER EVER OF ANY KIBD OF MUSIC ESPECIALLY GOSPEL, WHEN PLAY IT NOW YOU STILL FEEL HIS ANNOINTING ON THE MUSIC HE SANG FROM HIS HEART AND SOUL.
44:14. Who is Racquel Welk?? Lawrence Welk’s super-hot daughter?
Loved Charro. Geez Guys!
bill bixby was in 2 elvis moves - Clamway and Speedbake
Up to 16 ,I'm getting worried,
Tickle me this high
Tickle me was elvis in a scooby doo cartoon
Live a Little, Love a Little was like the Rock Hudson and Doris Day type movie.
I appreciate all of the Elvis mov, ies, Back in the day, that was the only way one was able to see Elvis. Some are better than others, my favorite is Kid Galahad, Jailhouse Rock and King Creole. I have a silly weakness for Girl Happy.
Girl Happy is pretty silly, but I liked it!
Gi Blues was one of his most successful movies.
I realy enjoy the movie GI Blues.
@@arveespelien1116 it's one of my faves because it was on TV in the early 70's when I was a nipper at Christmas and my Dad had bought himself a cassette recorder and he put the microphone to the TV and recorded it,so we heard the songs over Xmas!
I've seen Stay Away Joe about 20 times. Not a great movie, but a fun watch.
Well, regardless of how we view the movies that Elvis hated doing, none of them never went under! EP still made his money from them and there still around!
To me ai would put Gi Blues in the top 5.
I really want you to do a video fantasy like movie yesterday about Beatles not existing I wanna know a world if Elvis Presley never existed
I love to watch Elvis movies, they are a combination of drama, comedy, action, romance, and musical and I don't care what are others talking about. other says, Elvis should have done serious movies what? all movies are not serious, all are scripted and designed to please or entertain viewers period.
Yes Nancy Sinatra sings in speedway
I am the biggest Elvis fan of all time and even I wouldn't do that. So many of them were not even worth watching.
Yes, FRANKIE AND JOHNNY is technically a remake of 1934's FRANKIE AND JOHNNY, because it's from the same producer, Edward Small.
In Wild in the Country I believe he almost killed his brother.
I just had to look up the yoga song. WOW. 😬
Another bad song that Elvis hated was singing Old MacDonald had a farm....I think it was in Double Trouble (??)
The rage reduction theories of the 1960s were very progressive at the time of Change of Habit. You can't judge the film from today's perspective. But, you're right; the movie is better than most people give it credit for.
elvis was a salior in easy come easy go you said he just got out of the army in the film also fun in acapulco he was a trapeze artist not high wire
Plastic in Viva Las Vegas? Guys, come on! Geez!
Through it away
To me, JAILHOUSE ROCK was the best, EASY COME EASY GO the worst. Very interesting video, though. GIRL HAPPY should've been ranked higher.
Please time stamp or post a list of these somewhere (comments or description)
5:54 #31-21
18:24 #20-11
34:10 #10-6
42:44 Top 5
51:43 Numero Uno
I liked all but a couple of Elvis movies
super weird comment section. a lot of all caps, and a lot of cranks offended at the idea that some of these throwaway movies from 60 years ago haven’t aged too well.
My Favorites:
1) King Creole
2) Girl Happy
3) Loving You
4) Change of Habit
5) Kid Galahad
I didn't like Jailhouse Rock as much as most people seem to. The body double in Kissin' Cousins was Red West.
The Bass player in Girl Happy is Gary Crosby, Bing's son.
NO LANCE LEGAULT
Kid Galahad is probably my favorite tied with King Creole
