Do you recommend downloading the desktop application as an ADVANTAGE, or is just as good to simply go online, create an account with Bitwarden, and then download & install the browser extensions?
@gjoseph1628 I use both the app and the browser extensions. Sometimes it's easier to find the login details in the app and then copy them over (especially on mobile devices) and other times easier to just use the browser extension.
Thanks for sharing this video. I have been using this for long time. This video helped me to understand it in a better way. Let me ask one thing, how reliable of safe it is. If we lost/hacked the master password, everything is gone. Its my doubt only, please correct me if I am wrong. Please keep upload informative videos like this. Thank you.
You are correct, if you lose your master password you would indeed also lose access to your saved passwords in Bitwarden. Therefore it is a good idea to periodically save your passwords elsewhere such as in KeepassXC. I might create a video on how to use KeepassXC in the future.
Does using the desktop APP automatically fills password son browser and captures passwords from browser? Or is the browser extension needed? I don't see the need of desktop app. In that case.
@Hadzoable Thanks for your question. One could easily get by using only the browser extension. I also use the desktop app because I utilise Bitwarden for more than just passwords plus I can access my data while offline. With it I create notes that I can access without having to open a browser. For example, I have a bunch of terminal commands saved and various account details for things like amenities etc. I also use the app on my android and ios phones so I don't have to open browsers or be connected to the internet to access info.
What happens if you have five or six Google accounts, each one for a different purpose, and you want to manually add each of them to Bitwarden? Do you need to struggle to sign in to any one of those accounts you choose? How? Will Bitwarden unreliably give the desired username and password when you try to login to the desired Google account?
@gjoseph1628 Like you, I've got multiple Google accounts for different purposes. I don't use Bitwarden's autofill feature so it is very easy to log in to whichever account I require.
With Bitwarden, am I able to have another person enter their password so they don't have to give it to me directly? I am a bookkeeper and I'd like to be able to use this with my clients in this way. LastPass offers this feature, but I'm not a huge LastPass fan.
@Catherine Pabon I posted your question to the Bitwarden devs on Reddit and they responded very quickly. Feel free to add to the thread if your question wasn't fully answered. www.reddit.com/r/Bitwarden/comments/xzjm2a/can_a_client_add_a_password_that_i_cant_see/
It's my favourite password manager. Using it on both desktop and Android
Thanks for the detailed explanation.
You are welcome!

Can I add a picture to a secure note?
@1128Triton Nope, unless you host the image somewhere (eg. imgur) and put the link into Bitwarden.
@@StaempunkTV i believe you can with the paid version
@EfrainDeLaRocha Thanks, good to know.
Nice explanation. Too complicated. Why aren't the companies coming up with easier method?
@edkirkpatrick1231 Thanks for commenting! I imagine the Bitwarden developers are trying to simplify the process as much as possible.
missing password sharing, organisations, collections. the rest is self-explanatory anyway
