Your tutorial was easy to understand and I was able to successfully make a rasta tam. I did have a discrepancy where I used red heart yarn with the I hook and my tam was small. I started over using the recommended hook size for the yarn which is J hook and it turned out perfect. I also successfully made a brim following your instructions. thank you so much for your video.
Thank you for posing this video series! A friend of mine asked me to crochet a mega rasta tam for him, so it has been greatly helpful. I just have to say, I love it when your son comes in the room at the end and his little face comes on the screen. It got me giggling. It was a great, cute way to end the video. :)
Thank You for taking the time out away from your family to teach us how to create this beautiful team. Can you later on show us how to add the adjustment string and it's placement?
Good day thank you for sharing your work. I have made my frist rasta tam following your instructions and love it. Your tutorials are easy to understand blessings
Message from Harriet is very helpful: You just weave it in and out of the last row of double crochet. For the drawstring, just chain 200 and make knots at the end after wearing it in.
Thanks for the tutorial :) I ended up up with more than 60 stitches at the end and had to do 2 rows of decreasing LOL but it still turned out great! And you even kept telling me to count my stitches 🙄
I am so happy that ur video walked me thru the whole project and my finished piece is awesome! Please post more of ur videos. .I love it! Thank u soooo much
Hi there thanx for ur awesome work...just wondering what size needle u use for this whole thing as in vid 1 u start off with a 5.5mm then u have a dif needle for part2 then u use a 6mm for vid3...also what ply is ur wool I am using an 8ply but urs seems to be thicker...I am in new zealand...thank u love ur work.
Hi lady I am confused with the reducing as I only get 4 stitches and you said five please explain as I already come so far with no flaws thank you much love
I made the hat exactly as you instructed. It was a gift for my cousin to give to her friend that has locks that come to the back of his knees. He does wrap his locks around his head. After I finished it looks so small to me. So, I made a different style - a slouch. It is long in length; as I was taking into consideration his length. But he hated it, so much so that he wouldn't even try it on. so, I am back to making your style and I am finished another one with you colors and I just do not think his locks will fit inside this hat. I do not want it to have a brim, so I didn't add it. How would I make it larger?
Believe it or not the hat has a lot of stretch in it my husband's dreads are also very long and thick and it fits him fine but i did use a j hook instead of the I
I would love to make a smaller one so how do I do that? My grandson want me to makes one n the only way I can think is lower the hook to g or h. So can u please please help me . thanks
I didnt see in your video how you added the drawstring? How long of a drawstring do you recommend? Im figuring you just weave in and out of the double crochets
tiffany alston yes you just weave it in and out of the last row of double crochet. For the drawstring, just chain 200 and make knots at the end after weaving it in.

Tororoa Cherrington I used an I/9 - 5.5mm hook. You should use the same hook throughout. If I changed, it was a mistake. sorry about that.

What row number did you change color for the blue and black tam please thank you.
Dang, you are good at that. Are you in the zone?
I would love to make a smaller one so how do I do that? My grandson want me to makes one n the only way I can think is lower the hook to g or h. So can u please please help me . thanks
Smaller hook size. Depends on the circumference of his head. It's best to measure his head to be certain.
is it 5 rows of each color; is the green 6 rows which total is 16 rows together
Its 5 rows of the color yarn.
Erica S. great Tk u
