Awesome van! I love travel vans, I used to have a 1999 Chevy conversion van with the fold down back seat that becomes a bed. Loved it. Now I hope to make a smaller version out of an AWD Chevy ASTRO.
Found your video because I'm buying a 1996 Dodge van to use for people hauling, and was looking for other peoples experiences. Seems like a solid reliable van.
You might need to add a vent to the outside for the battery box, just to vent the hydrogen outside and not let it condense too much. Good idea to seal it from the cab, but it should have a source of fresh air as well. Just to be safe from fire.

I have a very 1998 ram mark III high top conversion van, and mine has dual air conditioning and dual heating. The air is so cold you could hang meat in that van. That house a/c looks sketchy, like over time vibrations will mess it up. Nice job with the van. Mazeltov.

Sorry for the late response! He actually purchased one online and welded some pieces to it so that he didn’t have to put holes in the roof. I believe that is aan older video!

Where did you get the swivel seat base??
Very nice build. But, in the battery and inverter compartment you need to put a fan in one or both of those holes you drilled. Those components generate a lot of heat especially the inverter and you have to pull that heat out of there. Just having the two ventilation holes is not enough. Heat rises so, you have to draw the heat out. You have a nice setup but if you don't install those fans to pull that heat out you'll regret it and you'll be buying a new inverter. You guys did a hell of a job. The interior is excellent. Safe travels..
Totally get that but if anything I figured the fan on the inverter was adequate at the time. That or I completely forgot to put one in, and I did pan on putting one in there, must’ve forgot

Quick question. I'm working on the same model car but it's 2001. There's a vent with what I think is a battery or something that's in the same area where you put your batteries in yours. Did you have something like that? And if you did, how did you remove it?
Are you asking how I removed the batteries if I had to? If so I had the bed come up and then that area was sealed off with a small little vent out the bottom of the van just to be safe and not have any fumes go up into the van
I had this awesome dream to have a cool offroading camper cool man cave on wheels. Then my girlfriend decided to make it cute. Now I drive a Barbie dremahouse when I go camping. LMFAO! His expression at the beginning told the whole story. Priceless example as how women tear down a Man's dream.

I built them from scratch and used ones from pep boys but we don’t have them selling parts anymore. They don’t sell them to go over the high top vans, hence why I made it from scratch
So... I gotta 92 d350 dodge van.. the big brother to your van ....possibly going to do a van build... and this is the second van I've seen with the window unit ac...I was curious to know what is the run time for the ac on your power supply?
I would think a generator or plugged into campground electric. No way batteries can run a window ac

@@THATGUY-vb1jf not my van but I know I have a 13500 btu rv ac and it takes 2 Honda 2000 inverters ran parallel to run it. They take a lot of power
How long g did it take to fix the van. How long was the project.
About 4 months non stop after work getting it done, but I also had 90% of the tools

I bought it from dirt cheap, a place where they sell returns and close outs from other stores, it was probably lowes or home depot originally

well my advice would be to get a 2500 version or get a slightly bigger rear end, the weight tends to slow you down. Abe.
@@thatguysgarage323 my biggest worry is taking out the interior and figuring out what to do with all that wiring. It has lights lining the back ceiling, an electric back bench/bed, an old tv and VCR.
@@debraproctor6396 I personally unplugged all of it and tucked it away never had any issues out of it.
Tip: unplug a few wires at a time but then go start the vehicle to make sure it starts and runs.
