Suspension needs Attention, on a Budget. 1986 Chevy Van G20
Просмотров 10 тыс.Год назад
I take my 1986 Chevy G20 and replace some of the front end parts with known good used parts. Usually i would replace with all brand new parts, but we're on a budget. So I picked up the used parts from the local junkyard for 5th of the price I would have bought on amazon. I'm trying to keep cost down to a minimum if I can. Thanks for watching the video hope you enjoy.

Turbo Rebuild, Borg Warner will it fit? 2012 Dodge Challenger LS Swap
Просмотров 256Год назад
So I bought a used rebuildable Borg Warner S400, T6 Flange,96x88mm turbo on Ebay for $250 with an extra $100 to ship it, and also bought a rebuild kit for the turbo as well. I know I said that I had a 96x75mm turbo but I put down the wrong turbo size, it's actually a 96x88mm turbo. Just to Clarify.

Super sick bro
That’s all tight and lots of new parts on mine and I still can’t sell it for $4000.
Impressive work on that old g20. I have an 88 Beauville that I'm camperizing. Not as rough as yours though.
Have done something similar many times and never once had issues, just use common sense, Take your time
I just removed the air pump tube's from my 85 GMC. All 6 of the tubes unscrewed from the manifold. I couldn't believe it.
Where is the shade tree
Out front it’s massive and I’m blessed because of it. But also I have a garage so that helps to
I bought a 1982 chevy g20 its Smurf blue the previous owner was paralized and his wife drove him around in it it had a v6 but he didnt think it was fast enuf so he had a shop put a 350 in it and 300 miles onto the new engine some1 ran into the dr side fender so it sat and he ended up passing away so his wife n son put it up for sale wen they used it they had a little top put on it for $3,000 so his wife could stand in it becus it had a hospital bed and a wheel chair lift in it personally i wish it didnt have the top id rather it have the original flat roof but i bought it cus new engine and it has a posi rear it has th350 trans so i bought it and welded a new fender on cus there welded on from the factory i put a new muffler n exaust pipe on it and i had to put a new headlight bezel on and 1982 musta been a 1 year only for that style headlight bezel cus it took me forever to find a set but i did in virginia at a old junkyard but i fixed it put a new water pump on engine cus from sitting it developed a small leak so i just put a new one on and thermostat i got rid of the hospital bed n wheel chair lift cus the lift was old n the wiring was rigged it went down once n got stuck i had to jiggle all the wiring around n finally got it back up so i ditched it but it runs like new the engine has maby 500 miles on it if that,,ive owned it for 1 year now n i only use it to pick up engines and stuff n i drive it to work once n a while but it really would make a good van life van. Ive been debating on selling it cus i dont drive it that much n its a shame to leave it sit thats why i drive it to work at least once a week but i have alot of projects going on and i might sell it just to fund another 67 impala i got. Anyway nice van! When they run good there cool to drive they have a captains chair not a driver seat 🇺🇲
Did the flex plate get ruined?
This is everything my dad never did with me that I now have to teach myself. I watch them in my ambulance in between calls. Thank you to you and your wife for your time and effort!
I can see by the comments that this isn't a video for those guys whose mommy cut the crust off of their bread
Hahaha love that description!!
This video was a year ago did you finish
Great video. Question when doing duel feed Mod. Does a particular checkball have to removed? I was told #9 to remove
What type of motor mounts, headers did you use
What headers are you using bro
So what's that little plug wires on the side you said be careful with, I can't figure out what mine is. Got a 85 g30
Doesn't work, the pcm, ecu wiring is a nightmare.
What type of license do you need to drive your can? Class wise
I run my G20 two electric fans no shroud because with fan shroud hard to even see the engine never over heats
Nice job. That’s a lot of work. I’m doing the same thing with a 58 Apache and 2005 Tahoe. I was wondering how you were going to hinge the hood? Are you planning on cutting clearance for the stock hinges? I have my videos up to where I had to do rust repair on the Tahoe firewall. Thank you.
Was it a v6 or v8 challenger?
Fun project!
Love the engine sound @ start up !
This will work if you are in an apocalypse type scenario if every machine shop in the world ceased to exist
Why pay 200-500 a head when you can do it at home for 25 to 50 dollars be realistic sometimes people don't have that kinda money
@@user-lr6ks3xn6rI can afford a machine shop but I'm still gonna do this, be just fine!
Spoko, Kolejnym razem zanim zaczniesz to pomaluj powierzchnię czarnym nie zmywalnym markerem, będzie widać górki i dołki gdzie zbiera a gdzie jeszcze nie.
What's that pass side header off of? I'm doing a 5.3 in a 08 magnum
Music is louder then your voice
really good video. doing my first trans rebuild on a 4l80e. got the walkout bushing and the bearing and shim kit in my shopping cart, case was pressure washed and im waiting for warm weather to paint it and continue the rebuild.
Please just take to a decent machine shop, this is stupid.
Thanks I appreciate the advice. While your at it let me know more thanks
Nice video. Tanks 😊
That big ole tree casts amazing shade
Again liking the content. However I thought I saw a lift in your garage. If that’s true why you didn’t you put it on the lift? Keep going on the project. You’re doing great!!!
Yea I do have a lift but they were taken by another project
I appreciate the content you’re posting. However, I have a couple of questions: 1) Why did you buy an additional water gauge when the factory provided you with an oil and water gauge? Wouldn’t it be easier (and cleaner looking) to reconnect the oil and water gauge in the instrument panel and get rid of the external gauges and the “electrical spaghetti” that would come with it? 2). Wouldn’t it be easier remove and replace the inline fuel filter around the frame rail on the (typically) drivers side? It has sitting for 5 years. Safe to assume that it hasn’t been replaced. Keep up the great work though. I’m enjoying what I’m seeing!
Very nice build. But, in the battery and inverter compartment you need to put a fan in one or both of those holes you drilled. Those components generate a lot of heat especially the inverter and you have to pull that heat out of there. Just having the two ventilation holes is not enough. Heat rises so, you have to draw the heat out. You have a nice setup but if you don't install those fans to pull that heat out you'll regret it and you'll be buying a new inverter. You guys did a hell of a job. The interior is excellent. Safe travels..
Totally get that but if anything I figured the fan on the inverter was adequate at the time. That or I completely forgot to put one in, and I did pan on putting one in there, must’ve forgot
Bro! Yes!!! I like how knowledgeable you are, very helpful. Thank you.
Its wontt a 59 anymore.
Been looking for someone with a video for this for awhile. Much appreiated and great vid! 😊
Yea same I couldn’t find anything on RUclips that actually showed anything. Just a bunch of talking if any.
Awesome trick getting that broken bolt out 😮👍
Be careful with that style fuel filter there a fire Hazzard should have bought a plastic clamp on style 😮
Those filters are bad news. They eventually leak

Think you can LS swap my Cessna 172?
Make sure u dont block the oil flow of that port if u do it will Starve the crank bearings there is a video on line of a guy that did it and he is telling it so others dont do that !! If you have 2 much flow to the turbo your oil psi will be low also !!
Yea I bought a truck once with low oil pressure and the guy said he put a high pressure oil pump on it. It ran with about 15 psi but then I looked at the little piece above the filter and he put a diy block off plate that was pretty much making it a restriction. It’s either suppose to have a cooler line or that little piece just like in the video
Good idea only thing that would be better is making the sanding surface bigger so the head can be turned sideways to get a cross hatch pattern an help get a more uniform flat surface.
I get that. But had to work with what I had. And I was making sure I was turning it side to side to make sure it was getting a cross hatch. May of not looked like it but I was turning it as I was going to
Any progress
Hopefully I will be working on it soon. But I also have another kid on the way so we’ll see. If anything I’ve been trying to do the at least 1 hour on your project a day. That way I’m at least making progress little by little. Right now I’m trying to finish the challenger project
OLÁ. Pelo que vejo, não sabes nem o que estás fazendo.
I just did this on my truck. By the time the repair and body work is done its not worth doing. It would be more cost effective to buy a door. Time is money.
Yea that’s why I out it off for so long. And honestly getting one with no rust either would have been way better
Can we get an update video on this truck? I’m interested in seeing how you tie in the late model dash to the 58 cab. Also did you retain the 58 wipers or adapt to the Tahoe? Really interesting videos so far but need an update!

Love the video and what you’re building here, but why do people film like this? The video is the size of a postage stamp on an otherwise blank screen
Take an old treadmill an electric one, get you a thick piece of flat steel the same length of the treadmill run your belt that you get made over the top of the steel and run a hose pipe over it or a garden hose with water and maybe put a little soap in it. You could use a parts washer pump and recycle the water if you wanted too it works great. just do not get carried away and cut way too much off of a head you need to mic it first. Whatever it is, you are resurfacing just make sure you do not cut too much off of it because it will do it really quick and that also depends on what grit sandpaper you are using.
Well how else do you make a Chrysler fast and dependable...
lol nice 😂
