Steering wheel column fix, is it worth the hassle? 1986 G20 Chevy Van

This is a 1986 chevy van g20 and I take a 1995 chevy van steering column and install it in the 1986 van, but it's not all that easy. I had to take both and make one good column, which was easy said than done. Thank you for watching

I have a 95 G20. I am going to put a new one in. Do you think I will need to have the wheel upside down before removing the old one and when putting the new one on again for my year too?
