    Thanks! I’m about to attempt making a meal composed almost entirely of recipes _and_ ingredients with which I’ve never worked (lamb and leeks being the two main ingredients!) With lamb leg being $24 a pound these days, I don’t want to mess up the meal with sandy leeks (which I now know I would have done because I wasn’t aware of how dirty leeks really are, so thanks for that!) Here’s hoping my husband’s 40th birthday meal is a success! 🙏🥳🤞

    Wow sure learned a lot about leeks. Happy to know about getting the grit out, could have ruined everything.
    Big pot of Scotch Broth coming this Friday. I'll be using your four way cut for the leek, if it comes out good ye Broth will be a regular thing.
    The aroma will have my long deceased father hovering over the pot for sure, cursing how he's not able to hold a spoon of his own.
    Next on my list is Cock-a-Leekie soup. 😂 He'll be trying to materialize for that one!

    Well I've always just rinsed sliced em and bake em in the oven with with onion carrot tomatoes etcetc spray of oil ,peri peri salt and chilli flakes that's the badger..gonna try this se what I've been eating for years😂
