Hey buddy, I am also close to closing clients for my social media marketing agency. Can you please suggest me which type of contract would do the work. Thanks in advance.
Of course. So the first part is just saying that it costs more if you have a tight deadline depending on what other projects you have going on. It’s paying for priority. The second part just means that they are still liable for other costs that pertain to the project like printing costs of the piece or web hosting or media cost etc. that’s not covered in contract (money exchanged between them and you).
Not a problem. Here is a reply to similar question: So the first part is just saying that it costs more if you have a tight deadline depending on what other projects you have going on. Thanks for this info! I have a question though... what should you do if the client is located in another city, therefore can’t physically sign? How would you do it electronically?
Excellent question. I usually ask them to print, sign, and scan but digital signatures can be legally binding as well. They should be able to digital sign utilizing most pdf viewers.
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Davion Dean Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
That’s why I like to add in that piece of getting half the money upfront (Ernest money). That way you don’t get completely burned. If it’s for enough, you might choose to take legal action. Remember to never share final files until final payment is submitted to you as well. Obviously, seek a legal experts advice but those are just some tips that I’ve had to implement.
I’m not a lawyer so definitely don’t want to steer you wrong. I would do this minimum so that you essentially have a signed agreement covering some basic terms. But I still recommend doing more research to make sure you’re covered even more.
I'm not really good in english, but may I use your style of wordings and terms here for my personalized contract? Mine's really short and didn't have any fancy words in it 😂
Yes if you have a signed contract/agreement to execute work you should be protected in some way. Obviously, the more detailed the better. With that being said, I’m not a legal advisor so more research is always a good idea so that you are as protected as possible.
@@ilovelearning2 I’m so sorry. Looks like he took it down as this video was posted a couple years ago. Sorry for the inconvenience but hopefully you can build your own using the video.
Please, I need to know the following: I have verbally agreed with client on project (though I dont have clear specification of what he expects me to do). The very second day I told him I need a contract and he promised to creare and send me. But afterwards nothing from him. Should I start with the project anyways or should start only after contract is received ?? I am really confused, please freelancers help. Thank you ))
Do not start the project until a contract is signed and you have clear direction on specs and what work is to be done. Typically, you as the freelancer should provide the contract once a written description of the deliverables and project details is received.
Comment on his page and he said he might put both up. In the meantime, they’re not that different layout wise so you could use it as a base to create yours.
You need to download zip file. Why??? And there is no Agreement Templates. Today no use of any Invoice template. Payment gateways already have that. Plz add value ✌️
A signed estimate is a contract/agreement between a client and the worker for a certain work to be done for an indicated amount of dollars. It should cover you. But always do my research to be even more protected. This should be good if you’re just looking for a basic contract. Have at least this.
I downloaded the link and it came with three files. The only one i could open was a pdf, which i obviously cant edit, The other two were in files i couldn't open
Roscoe Maher unfortunately they are built in indesign so you would need that program to edit it. You might have to use it as a template and recreate your own in a program you do have. You should be able to copy the text from the pdf. Hope that helps.
If you guys would like to copy the terms from this video for yourself this where they're pulled from: nickkidd.net/blog/how-i-screwed-up-my-designer-contract Might be easier then re writing yourself :)
This is just a basic contract to give basic protection. Still acts as a binding contract without a lawyer. Definitely still seek legal advice for giant jobs that are for a huge sum of money. I have never used a lawyer on any of my over 100 freelance projects but definitely continue to seek out info on how to best protect yourself. Use this as a minimum, a starting point.
@@artsblogs for sure. That’s what I used to make it. You should have most of the format there and then just have to do some fine tweaking based on what you would like to include.
I highly advise hiring a qualified attorney when it comes to drafting out a legal binding agreement between two parties. I strongly recommand not to use free templates as many of them are poorly structured that miss many important clauses.
Thanks for the shout out Kev. Always making killer vids! Check out my story on what happened when I didnt have a great contract here: bombpopdesign.net/blog/how-i-screwed-up-my-designer-contract

Hey there this was super helpful but can you explain first sentence of point no. 4? It just seems little confusing to me.

Great video love it but how to make client sign contract? when they're in very place.
How you and client both sign it and exchange?
They can sign it digitally using a program like Adobe Acrobat or they can print, sign, and scan.
Thanks for this info! I have a question though... what should you do if the client is located in another city, therefore can’t physically sign? How would you do it electronically?
Many ways to esign. Still valid if they esign and send it back to you. Keep all emails as well where contracts have been exchanged.
This is so helpful and EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much for sharing.

Good day. I am a freelancer, and can I just create a contract myself and send it to my clients? Would that be considered legal in any way?
Yes if you have a signed contract/agreement to execute work you should be protected in some way. Obviously, the more detailed the better. With that being said, I’m not a legal advisor so more research is always a good idea so that you are as protected as possible.
