Her “learning over time what got her burned” is exactly why an attorney is needed. She’s advocating learning by trial and error which costs money-money which could have been saved and damage to the business prevented by putting a proper document together in the first place.
Yes lawyers cost money but they cost way less than what you might be sued for if you find yourself in court, and you don’t want to be unpleasantly surprised in court when the judge doesn’t rule in your favour because your contract is invalid because you didn’t get the right advice.

Disclaimers. Confidentiality. Intellectual Property Rights. Taxes. Liquidated Damages. Exemption Clauses. Warranty. Force Majeure. Most-favored customer clauses. First-refusal clauses. Applicable law. Duty to disclose all material facts. Termination clauses. People don't always need a lawyer or insurances, they do help.
I completely affirm & uphold the all said hereto, ie if you would be so reckless doing business without full comprehention what-is-what, you should one day find yourself kicked out from whatever you dream.
I LOVE how you explain these things without using words I need to look up in the dictionary! ^_^ (Unlike every single other video on the topic I've found thus far.) So basically write a contract that includes details and specific information about the business, and what is expected of u and the client in a lot of detail. Then give it to a brutally honest person to find loopholes. Do that a few times with a few people without making any business deals. U find the loopholes before loosing money.

A contract is nothing more than a written handshake. It's value comes from defending it in court., simple words in a contract can trip you up. Both parties may interpret the language in different ways. Never hurts to have a lawyer vet what you have created. The time to defend your document is before you get sued.
If you get decent legal advice from the start you won’t have to defend your contract at all unless either party breaches the terms of the contract in some way.

There is so much more to contracts than what this lady is saying which the average person wouldn’t know, like what constitutes a legally binding contract, applicable legislation, whether or not your contract is legally binding. You definitely want to cover yourself. The simpler the contract, the more complicated the lawsuit can be.
