@@Tay04723 there are some that are fine, but i would steer clear of the turbocharged V8’s except for the new S68 and perhaps the last gen of the N63 and S63 if you’re okay with some preventative maintenance. I wanted a 5er, but the F10 M5 and G30 M550i scared me away. The B58 will handle nearly the same power on stock motor anyways. Plus you could make 700lb-ft of torque on the stock turbo if you just want it to push you into the seat
I'm extremely undecided between 3 cars: - 540i 2018 - m340i 2020 - m3 f80 2015 - m5 f10 2015 I intend to do Stage 2 in any of these 4 that I get, the twin-turbo V8 might not start due to the very expensive maintenance and problems that may arise. And so I'm really between the 540i 2018 and the m340i 2020, I love space and technologies, they say that the ZF8HP transmission of the 540i is second generation, while the m340i is a third generation ZF8HP, I don't know in practice where the difference would be difference between them. So I would like you to tell me which of the cars I should buy, I intend to do stage 2 and then a stage 3, either the 540i or the m340i ?

What do you recommend to me?: 1) ECU remap 2) decatt downpipe; 3) pure 800 turbo 4) super sprint or armytrix exhaust system; 5) what else ? Thank you very much for your answer.
@@lambokiller99 sorry I was not clear enough. I meant I would like to remap the ECU with pure turbos in Belgium 🇧🇪 and do everything with them , including pure turbo 800. I was only curious about how much power can handle the B58 remaining in a safe zone.
@@tommasoscarlino4672 B58 can handle 700whp on stock motor and trans if you tune it properly. 2021-2023 DMEs are locked and can't be tuned at the moment so you would essentially be stuck with a JB4 or Racechip.
Ask around and see if anyone is able to unlock your ecu, they’ll likely ask for vin. Once that is taken care of, you can move forward. Until then, Jb4 is the best piggyback on the market and you can do your full bolt ons and run a hybrid turbo with the Jb4

You should be fine until around 700whp on a 540. I was scared of bmw V8 reliability so I stayed away from M550s

If you want a nicer interior and higher build quality buy a 540, if you want a sportier feel and a smaller space get an m340i.

You have a locked DME that hasn't been cracked yet. Best you can do is get a JB4 and catless downpipe.

In Finland there is the possibility to crack the ECU and do the remap, also for new models (pure turbo said to me )

Stage 3 for b58 is always a turbo upgrade. I recommend pure 800 or 850. Or if u have the budget, a daw turbo

B58 is fine transmission may not last long
