  • How to play funk guitar. So you're playing in a band and its the sax solo or keyboard solo. Here's a simple chord vamp that doesn't fill up too much space. Believe me , your other musician friends will love you for it. Keeping it really simple but staying out of the way giving other musicians room but still helping the groove is essential.

    There's one technique you're using that you don't seem to discuss - The sharp twisting of the plectrum from up to down which gives a real 'snap' to the note. I've been experimenting with this technique myself. It's surprisingly powerful...

    This dude is kinda a beast with the funk, knows all the appropriate inversions and everything else! I am surprised that I am just hearing about him. I hope that he can include some additional lessons in the future!!

    I think this is important - what pick do you use? Your attack is really interesting because it isn't scratchy or percussive at all. Not sure if that's pick, pedals (is there compressor) or player!

    hi Rob sorry if I disturb you,
    I would like to ask you for advice for me, and it is the following:
    with my band I play love Foolosophy, the version you played on abbey roads, the one with the final cut.
    I was wondering if you use delay in the central solo, and what kind of settings should I set since I have a boss dd20 as delay.
    I hope I'm not out of place.
    Greetings from Sicily.

    Hey Rob - Suhr or PRS Silver Sky? Whats your favourite?

    • @RobHarrisGuitar
      @RobHarrisGuitar  3 года назад +1

      They’re both amazing guitars. I use them for different sounds. The Suhr is a little more old school and the Silver Sky is a bit mire hi fi to me

    In Matt's guest appearance, ruclips.net/video/m5Ojqaqdnb0/видео.html i wonder what the chord change is. You are vamping on a Am7 xx7555 but then i dont know what you do for one beat at 07:42. Would you be able to tell us? I love your channel and you are so humble. If you click on the link you will see what i am talking about. Thank you
