I have bought suction cups & different tools to fix the gaps. For months I have been unsuccessful and was about to call a flooring company that I am sure was going to cost a pretty penny. I watched your video, talked to my husband and said let’s try it. Boy did I get a good work out on my legs but it absolutely worked!!!! Thank you so much for this Video!!!!
You sir are a magician. Can’t believe i have had a gap for so long and it was that easy to fix it. Worked like a charm!! I swear there is nothing a duck tape can’t fix 🙌
@@SkyManagement Putting that in the vid would be good because a lot of people are going to do this to boards that aren't directly under the base board. Explaining that would keep comments like mine off your video in the future. 50% of the people watching this will assume that this just "works" and then they're going to think you're full of shit. Just include that information and save the hassle for yourself.
Good point. If you have cheap laminate floor with a painted on design or the like.. it may. If you have good quality floor / vinyl this should not effect it at all.
@@SkyManagement I have a customer who ruined a top of the line Core Tec removing tape using your method. Quality doesn't matter when you do things beyond spec to a floor.
If your gap is in the middle of the room, sometimes you may have to do it a couple of times until you get the gap to the edge where its under the baseboard.
@@SkyManagement Sorry you keep getting the same comment. Common sense says you just do it again and again until you reach the wall. No need for a video on how to fix a second gap, Just rinse and repeat. Thanks.
Kicking it would work in some cases but if it has a lip on the edge that is catching you will end up smashing the locking lip. Sometimes it helps to apply various angles of pressure while then giving it the boot. Thanks for watching :-)
@@SkyManagement I don't think it's glued, but it's just too tight to move it this way. Maybe I should try gorilla tape? I told the landlord, but he doesn't care about his own house, he's a funny guy. Anyways, thanx for the response 👍
That never works on tight floors which is almost always... You take a rubber mallet and hit it on the floor in the direction you wanted to go 95% of the time that tape trick will never work
Here's a quick way to move the gap in your floor.
There will be a edging around the floor so that’s where the gap came from and will go back to (normally )
😂
For a second there i thought you were just gonna put duct tape over the gap and be like "fixed!!"
Same lol

What's the point of the tape if you gonna kick it?
JUST KICK IT !
I didn’t see any point to the tape
And now you have a gap on the other side! Good job!
Yes! Thank you! it is on the side where it can be covered by the base board. You are welcome :0.
Now it’s on the other side congrats!!🎉

🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@nathanielburcroff6077 great way to try and pin you lack of common sense on him. Lmfao. If anyone assumes that it’s there own fault not his 😂
This really worked. Thanks so much.
Little glue in the joint will help otherwise you're going back every year
Thank you for the information, been looking.👍
Yes you fixed one Gap but what about the other end?
It worked great !! Thanks I’m subscribing now !!
Wow! It works!
Omg muy fácil excelente trabajo 👍💪💪
Lol the outher side ? 🤣
Yes! Thank you! it is on the side where it can be covered by the base board. You are welcome :0.
Wow. This is wonderful
saved me. tnx a lot bro
😂😂 it’s a joke I hope😅 I think the kick will be sufficient!
Cool 👌
Trying this when I get back home 👍
Guys, just FYI, this works for teeth too.
No need for the tape. Works just as fine without it.
I just use the shoe. Works every time. Then come back later and fix the plank at the end so it won't happen again.
That is easy. Much more helpful to show how to prevent it. It will only move again
Does it create a gap on the other end?
You need to glue it as well, otherwise it’ll just open up again as the laminate plank will move with wear … it hasn’t been installed properly…
Can I use this method to close the gap in my cortical cells?
Just kick it. Forget the tape.
How about the other gaps you create behind you?
What about the othwr end now
Opposite side òpen?
Why do the boards do this in the first place? Every install of laminate flooring that we’ve had done in our house has done this at some point in time.
What about the gap which will appear at the other end?
mine surprisingly didn't have the gap on the other end... but i understand if i did, I'd have to go till the base board covers it
this helped. thanks!
Didn’t you just create a gap on the other side of that plank?
Until the tape takes finish off. BEWARE

withe heavy shoes, the tape is not needed.
Now let’s see the other side that you pulled away from😅
How do you fix the new gap you just made at the other end of the floor panel?
That's what I was wondering
It's even quicker without the duct tape.
gap is nice and tight, but dont look at the other side
Easiest way just give it a little kick by the grip of your shoe
Ok now u have another gap on the other side 😮😮😮😮
Donnie stevens
Its called a pull bar 😮😮😮😮😮😮
WD-40 and kick it
Not a permanent fix.
Until u walk on it again. It always separates again on me
You forgot the glue so it doesn't open it up again!
So you’re making a gap on the other side?….
Not sure what the duct tape did.
Yeah and he opened another gap on the other side of the floor lol
You probably could've just kicked it. How are you going to secure it? I'm guessing there's a gap on the opposite side now

not always work well that way.
Don't need the tape
😂🤣🤣
That's not pemanent.
The tape did absolutely nothing 😂 just fucking kick it in place
Just kick it

On the other side......
What about the Other end? 😄
You don’t need the duck tape
*Duct* tape. It's not an aquatic animal, it's a strip of fabric with adhesive.
I laughed so hard at this... more than I should have... Thanks :-)
Doesn't work permanently I have three gaps won't stay closed
3rd
Rubbish. Firstly lay planks properly with right distance between joints.
This is BS, if the floor is too tight this will not work. I've tried it, doesn't work!
Sorry to hear that. It does work on certain types of floors. Yes. If your floor is glued down it would not work.

Subtract the duct tape Even though it did make it intense
What about a gap on the side of the vinyl
What did the tape do?
Coulda done that without the tape
What about the gap on other side now 😎

I have suction cups .... faster and easier :)
