Seeing how you are with your kids made me tear up I like to think of myself as a man but, every time I see your kids on screen and how you are with them takes me back to times with my dad i'm only 16 currently but, lost him when I was 7 so seeing that while watching mechanic videos and such just brings joy to my day keep uploading man and keep up the good work!

One is being used as an outdoor storage shed. (tried to trade mustang and C10 for it. Wasn't hapoening). The last one was restored and in primer and he wanted. 60k to restore his Charger. One day...

Your kids are awesome by the way 👍😁 so I've been doing upholstery for a very long time it's what I do for a living I wish I live close to you to show you the correct way every upholstery seats next time you could try putting in the year the make and model on eBay and put OEM seat cover and then you take the seat that you have you take it apart pulling the old fabric off and then putting the new one on that's one way of doing it if you don't know how to use a sewing machine but I will give you an A for effort 🤯 thank you for all the videos you guys do it helps a lot when you need to relax and clear your head 👍👌✌️
Jeremy Lutzz i did upholstery on the back seats on my 1966 thunderbird but used zip ties instead of the metal rings. You think the zip ties will last for a while?
@@iandeharo3733 yes they will hold for a while but eventually they will break the metal rings are called hog rings and they're not that expensive I think the zip ties will break due to the heat what I mean by that is if you park your car in a parking lot during summer and so on

I had a truck just like it years ago no rust minor issues still ran great I gave it to a friend in need and he still has it and drives it everyday. They don't make trucks like they use to. I’m supriced that the floors aren’t rusted threw on there. I’m 16 and my dad got me a 86 Chevy and we are doing a full restoration and making it like a general lee with the 01 on the side. Looks good, if you want a dirt cheap/free way to lower it you can cut 1 coil off the front springs amd remove 2 leafs in the back on each side. Thatll drop it down a decent amount, thats what i did with mine. I also just installed some carpet for cheap. I used indoor/outdoor carpet from lowes and used spray adhesive to stick it down to the cab floor. Theres some ideas for you

I love when you say "But on this truck...." because I've said that ALOT with my 77 Buick Skylark that I have daily driven for the last 15 years. When I'm at work and saying "I need to fix this on my car this weekend" the other mechanic always throws in "well to do it correctly" and I always up up saying "I'm not doing a 500 point restoration on it, it's a 45 year old daily driver with over 200,000 miles on it. Duct tape, Super glue, or Zip Ties, fixed is fixed, why am going to throw $50 at something when I can get the same thing for $5?".
Good video. I did the same thing but what I did to keep seat cover from sliding around I simply applied a spray adhesive on the back an applied cover smooth and tight worked like a charm

I had a 83 Chevy Silverado. The seat springs gave up. I turned the seat over, removed the springs and put slats of wood in instead. It was a perfect replacement
I would like to see this thing in different stages of budget resto. Season 1 is getting it running and looking pretty nice for the 2k budget. Season 2 can be more engine and paint based. Eventually you have a super nice c10 that u didn't spend a crap ton of money on.
Hey also, if you want your interior painting to hold up really really well use IPA solution to clean it, do it three times over then use an adhesion promoter, then spray it. It will work amazingly.
I put a set of black bucket seats out of a 2008 Nissan Altima that were electric and heat took a little bit to figure out wiring but look nice in my 83 swb think I paid like 35.00 at wrecking yard and like 5.00 in nuts and bolts
I have no knowledge of trucks whatsoever. I am however in the market for a truck and have had my eye on a C-10. With a budget of like 7500 what should I be expecting and what should I watch out for when buying this truck.
Bed rust is a big one, also rockers, cab corners, and floor plans go out pretty fast. I paid around 7 grand for my restoration which was in depth but wasn’t perfect by all means. Mine was all a k10 so I didn’t have to buy any suspension parts

we got a wrecking yard that charges 25 to 50 a seat and they have some nice set ups but u would be in heaven at my place have a bunch of pu from 63 to 79 all types chevy and fords i have a 79 chevy pu with Cadillac suspension from factory sits real low for a stock truck some day i'm going to build it i got most of them for free seems like the free trucks i get are way better then the one i end up buying i collect any rig from 79 and older if it is cheap or free have cars and trucks lots of chevy i like to build them from ground up so i hate rusted trucks i tend to just part them out for other projects

Use a hot wire for alot of the removal, then a orbital sander for fine tuning

when you have cracks like that in the dash you could feel them up with super glue an use a activator sand and paint look even better

I've used that fabric paint on my jku wrangler cage padding cover that was sun faded it works well..the truck is looking good man, ..

You can also pull the seat cover tight towards the back and sew to make it tight
anytime i sand anything with a Dual action sander i like to put some primer on it so it doesnt look patchy just for a bit of a better result

we got a wrecking yard that charges 25 to 50 a seat and they have some nice set ups but u would be in heaven at my place have a bunch of pu from 63 to 79 all types chevy and fords i have a 79 chevy pu with Cadillac suspension from factory sits real low for a stock truck some day i'm going to build it i got most of them for free seems like the free trucks i get are way better then the one i end up buying i collect any rig from 79 and older if it is cheap or free have cars and trucks lots of chevy i like to build them from ground up so i hate rusted trucks i tend to just part them out for other projects
