Only your opinion could answer that from your own perspective, because it would seem you're in the minority with that view, given that Em is the best selling rap/hip-hop artist of all time, with over 220 million albums sold in the U.S. alone: the next closest is Drake, with 170 million albums sold.
'Sides, I didn't say he'd been a continuous raging inferno, but there's also no question that he's done nothing but improve since he first hit the scene. His earliest stuff was wacky and shocking, even unique, but when you compare the depths of the lyricism and meaning in tracks like Rap God, Godzilla, and Killshot (just to name a few examples) to his earliest work... well, there just /isn't/ any comparison.

Eminem is definitely worth the deep dive on. Yes he was controversial, given the things you said in the vid about him "not allowed to say that these days", you might find him a bit hot and too true for your taste, but he always thought for himself and stayed true despite people trying to force their opinions on him (and the rest of the world), and didn't let the cancel culture fad stomp him out. Although his alter-ego Slim Shady was the most potent and polar part of his music (even gimmicky at times), he always had a message.
Eminem started out very quickly as one of the best rappers (not just white, but of all, because we also don't see color) when he came out. He has only been getting better over the last couple decades, and has been to date the top rapper in the world. It's debatable opinion wise, but not if you're fact based. No one can touch him. Some of those names you mentioned he has said were inspirations for him. I was a Beasty Boy's fan since DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince days, way before Will Smith became a movie star. Yeah ik, that dates me a bit.

The computer generated Eminem is actually a reference to a British show called Max Headroom from the 70's and 80's. Back then there was no CGI so the lead actor assumed the role of a computer generated A.I. and they used practical effects to make him seem like a computer program. He was played by Matt Frewer,, who would later play the role of Taggert in the hit sci-fi T.V. show Eureka.

Em is literally a Genius - totally off the scale!🔥Lyrically, no-one from any genre can match his immense vocabulary - he's a walking dictionary and thesaurus. His rhyming schemes, flow, subject matter, his storytelling abilities, he's so autobiographical with his material not to mention his rapping skills. He is an enigma - a labyrinth of puzzles within a riddle - that's why he's THEE GOAT!🐐
Yet he remains humble, constantly paying homage to his peers - very few Artists do that. The less capable rappers who keep trying to undermine him are simply haters! They should praise him for his accomplishments and contribution to elevate rap instead of tryin to bring him down. He's the undisputed #RapGod and a MASTER of his craft! 👏
Also Eminem cannot be 'cancelled' - he doesn't give AF - he won't censor himself🤣
Check out 'Stan' (the uncensored video - you'll find his uncensored videos at "EminemExplicit"), 'Lose Yourself' (won an Oscar!), 'Not Afraid'', 'Cleanin Out My Closet', 'Godzilla' (the official video please - it's amazing!), 'I Need A Doctor' with Dre, 'Spacebound', 'Sing For The Moment', 'The Way I Am', 'Cold Wind Blows'
*AND PLEASE REACT to 'Darkness' - IMO it's his MASTERPIECE - just WOW*
More Em PLEASE - I'm here for it! 👏
PS The 'character' he plays on the TV screen is based on Max Headroom - from decades ago - google it👍

Your generation missed so much. The thing is, you will never understand a fraction of the references he makes because of the time period. It makes it 1000X better to know the history. Yet, it's still fire to you. That's how good it is!

Just the part you thought was Agent Smith is but it's also a character from the 80s,Max Headroom, that has some fascinating history behind it, is easter egged in pop geek culture today is at least a 2 semester course. And I'm not bragging, theres a lot of people on here that could, I'm saying it to point out how brilliant he is, how deep and well thought out his stuff is

The most insane thing I have ever heard someone reacting to rap music say is, 'Since when was Eminem this nice?' Eminem is the best rapper to ever do it. It's statistically and technically a fact. He is the best EVER and he has been remarkably consistent. He had a dip during his drug addiction, but other than that he is consistently incredible.

He is holding the world record for spitting out 7.5 words a second!!
And I listen to Em since the 90's.
He really is the biggest rapper of all time.
People don't see it today... but if you could go back 20/25 years you would see for yourself how big he really is!!
Yes.. he was better back then compared to today.
But that's also because he has grown up.
But if people piss him off today you know what happens.. he still has it...
Look what he has done to MGK.... went from rapper to a pink dressed pop punk Barbie!!😂😂😂

The fast part of this song is an homage to J.J. Fad, a female rap group. Not only does he talk about them before jumping into that fast-flow, but you can see a still shot from their "Supersonic" video on one of the screens in this video. The cadence, speed, and some of the syllables are direct copies of part of "Supersonic", but then Eminem gets crazy lyrical beyond the original. If you listen to the original, Eminem is only going slightly faster, but what he's spitting is much more complex and lyrically dense. Here's the original J.J. Fad "Supersonic" video, which was amazing when it first came out: ruclips.net/video/Ti1bFMBd6V4/видео.htmlsi=s2E4iAc-YBgBSepF

I can’t get too upset, because I myself was born in 2000, but I picked up Slim very early on in my childhood. He got me through some tough times, and his 90’s raps were perfect. As to your question about Ray J and Fab, that was a real event. Fab commented about Ray at a party hosted by Mayweather, which later got around back to Ray and it created a level of beef worthy of 24/7 coverage on TMZ. To most of the world, it was just a little scuffle in the 90210, to to the rap community, it was some actual shit, because these guys came up in the same era and these guys were ready to pull pieces they got that pissed off. Seriously. Me and a few buddies of mine love going back and watching old TMZ runs and catch all that culture drama that shaped the community and the artists it surrounded.
