Ralph Carter. What a great role on Good Times he had. The writers gave people (white people. I am white) an education that we didnt normally hear, especially, on television. An amazing man. I grew up watching Good Times. This goes to show his parent(s) were his handlers and NOT the industry. They keep him grounded and he is the product of his environment and above.
I grew up in rural town of only white people and I was fascinated with Good Times. I used to do all of my chores, so that I could watch the show. I would sing along to the opening lyrics even if I made some of them up, because I didn't know them.
Unfortunately most white people only know about black people what they see on tv. Go and meet some black people, maybe make a black friend and you'll find we have more in common than you think.
I met Ralph in line at Subway in 2003 - he hugged me and said a prayer for my mom, who had recently died. What a gentle and loving soul.

An amazing man. I grew up watching Good Times. This goes to show his parent(s) were his handlers and NOT the industry. They keep him grounded and he is the product of his environment and above.

His voice almost sound the same when he was younger, if you listen to it.
I grew up in rural town of only white people and I was fascinated with Good Times. I used to do all of my chores, so that I could watch the show. I would sing along to the opening lyrics even if I made some of them up, because I didn't know them.
Unfortunately most white people only know about black people what they see on tv. Go and meet some black people, maybe make a black friend and you'll find we have more in common than you think.
@rrr ccc Exactly what was "poor taste" about my comment? Maybe you should make a black friend, then you wouldn't be offended by the suggestion.
