Before I found this channel I didn't even know what a N52 engine was. 25 hours of videos later...I own a N52 and am hurrying to get it ready to tune. Great content.
I got my N52 tuned earlier this week. My 2,5 215BHP now has increased torque to 280 Nm and 235 bhp. The car is a lot quicker in the midband 3-5000 RPM during acceleration. It is also a lot stronger so I am pleased with the tuning.
A year ago, I didn't even know what an N52 was. Now 11 months later, I own a E61 523i and have done alot on it with help from this channel, I thank not thank you enough.

Got them about 2,000 miles ago and oh my god they are so crazy, the sound is amazing and the pulls now are so much harder. They bolted up super easily. If you want to do a prototype tune for mine with catless I would be down to have you tune mine just let me know if that’d be possible. Pops like crazy but I want to be able to tune for only certain rpms and also my car has 213,XXX miles and still runs extremely strong. Did active headers, full straight pipe as well as charcoal delete, mishimoto intake boot, and k and n filter like you my car sounds amazing and I love it man. Everything you have ever mentioned bout these is true g props to you and helping keep me updated 🙏🏼

I don't get where everyone says the 328Xi coupe with N52 engine is slow by any means. the car only weighs 3500 pounds which is a little heavy but it is a nice solid car. But I've been in them with manual transmission and I thought was a really engaging and special car that was not slow by any means. But it needs more HP !

Years later and I'm still laughing. When I was in high school I had a 1989 Mustang GT. Fantastic car (I'm old, I got it when I turned 16 in 1991). Faster than just about anything else in the parking lot at school (graduation class was 977- so that's saying something!). My 128i was a tenth faster 0-60 and a couple tenths faster in the quarter mile. I understand that everything is faster now than it was in the 80s and 90s... But needing to do something to make the car feel less underpowered? It has plenty of power. More is always better. But as they came from the factory is quick enough to have a great time.
I have a South Africa spec 125i coupe with DISA. Did the BimmerLabs free tune and that enabled my DISA and got a lot more power (like a 130i hatch). Now that’s 265HP I think. Is your tune fundamentally different? I also did a decat on the stock headers. Big note: I run E70+ stock standard on the car as I own an Ethanol company. Do you do Ethanol/FlexFuel tunes for this car?! :D

@@repliica9204 2008 328i here, had mine about 6 months, its needed a radiator($600), some air ducts and filters and I recently did a power steering reservoir and belt, the cars running well now except I need a new battery. Expect to be under the hood every couple months.

Good question that was summarily dismissed as foolish for merely asking for evidence of unproven claims, whilst Dean is very knowledgeable on this topic the way he handled such a vital question raises more questions in my mind than answer. We still need means of calculating any power gain.

Just bought active Autowerke catless headers and if you do an install video that would be amazing, I’ve been spraying down my exhaust bolts on the manifold to make sure they come off smoothly with pb blaster. I am very excited and somehow my cats lasted to 211,XXX miles 😂💀 they need to go though

With the n52, your options are the following.. 3 stage intake manifold, catless headers, air intake (or charcoal filter delete paired with a K&N filter), cat back exhaust, and of course a tune. This whole set up should get you 40-50 hp to the wheels. If you really wanna spend BIG dollars, than you can get the ESS super charger for about $5-6k. Honestly, if power is what you want, get a 135, or 335.
From valvetronic gasket yes it can get in the spark plug holes and all over it I have shown that on one of my recent videos from a leaking valve cover gasket.
Hey, I got an 523i with the N52 (177HP). I did heard about the disa conversion. Which kind of disa do I need to get? The 525iOL disa? And if so, which DME/ECU do I need, the MSV70 or 80? Do I need to code anything if I change it? My aim is to get to the 218HP the E90 325 has for example. Thanks a lot
Are you using the n52k ecu in place of the n52? So my 6 has 258 hp? can that be taken to 272 with the 3 stage and the right files or am i missing something here?
Late response, sorry. Been researching this and all the dyno charts I've seen show the N54 manifold gains torque everywhere over a stock manifold, but it's only better than a 3 stage way up in the high rpms. A 3stg manifold provides larger gains anywhere under about 6500rpm, and the N54 is better above 6500, especially if you raise the limiter to over 7k. N54 is best suited to a manual trans and a short final drive ratio

A company is making them for me special for the channel I’m not allowed to give out details just yet as I’m not paying for them so prices are not set yet they need my old ones to copy them
you will not have engine light with this ECU EML light is programmed OFF this ecu has been made specific for N52 so you can do all steps to get full power without lights and failing smog , emissions , MOT
@@BMWDoctor Dean the catless headers make the n52 much louder, with a oem rear section it is ok but with an aftermarket exhaust and the headers it sounds pretty agressive. For some it can be too much. I love your hard work and the videos Dean. Thank you from the US.

No need for turbo mate trust me 3 stage is enough and but you will also need the ECU to benefit from the 3 stage or it won’t work

Tell me how can leaking oil from valve cover gasket or valvetronic gasket can end up in cylinders
