I absolutely loved the part where Luigi just comes running around the corner, was so unexpected lmao
I thought it was kinda cute though, not going to lie. Maybe Luigi is his favorite Mario character (which would explain Luigi's Mansion 3 music being heard throughout the video) I suppose that's why he shows up in hidden places in his videos.
@@vespacito3950 I loved it, it was genuinely adorable and unexpected lol
7:33 at first i thought that luigi was just another player being controlled by someone else
then i looked closer and realized that you actually animated him walking towards you. you absolute madman.
It thought luigi was an NPC
SMH can play back the animations in real time, and you can bind that play button to any key in your keyboard using the Source Engine console without having to bring up the SMH GUI, so it's seamless. Notice how immediately after grabbing Luigi with the physgun they unfreeze him so that he'll actually ragdollize and come along. That probably took a few takes to get right.
This isn’t an arg mate
@@Lil_Ducky43Hmmm
Nah I realized what he did immediately
Render video. Forgot to disable resample. Every single time.
I never even knew that was a thing tbh. Explains why some of my videos were bizarrely blurry for no reason.
Is there a way to change default settings or create a template with that already disabled?

Thank you for telling people about "disable resample." So many people forget/don't know about it and simply turning it off improves video quality drastically.
Also to note: newer versions of Vegas have the option to disable resample in your default project settings, so that makes it even easier than having to disable resample on every video source.

Disturbing but highly intriguing
Mukuro moment
your anime is disturbing, tf2 animations are GOLD
Face poser. you can do some CRAZY shit with it.
its really weird. the faces of team fortress 2 are like really generalized. there's flexes for pain or big pain, basically everything is like standarized. its pretty wacky and its bit weird when ur used to shit like half life 2 faces which has ton of detail but dont have as much generalized expressions for them
Weeb moment
This is just…so much info for me. I may never make them as good as people like you, but goddamn I’ll always enjoy seeing the silliness behind Gmod animations. Thanks for this Rus!
This tutorial has helped me a lot in GMod shenanigans, and I've learned a few more things along the way:
-If you want to be able to change faces without messing with posing, look into the timeloine feature. It lets you have frames that are only for pose and only for other things, so they aren't connected.
-I had to rewatch this a few times to get what the add/remove frame smoothing was for. Ease in/out is for the speed of the movement, while Eltorro's trick is for the position and rotation.
-If you want to edit a bone you can't select (such as fingers, part of limbs, or jigglebones), you can through the tree view in the context menu. Personally, the finger poser confuses me and seems restricted, so I'll likely just use the ragdoll mover for it.
I love the ragdoll mover, even for moving props and such, but it has some issues.
-The thingy doesn't appear the very first time I select a bone with it, but re-selecting that bone seems to work.
-It completely stops working on bones that go in the ground, so I would really recommend avoiding that.
-The scale mode looks a lot like the position mode, so watch out for that too (you can reset bone scale and rotation in the menu). This happens to me a lot because I often middle-click with the tool equipped while in other menus.
-Sometimes, bones are just very hard to select on a model. Eltorro likely has the right approach, using the RDM for the spine and such and the physgun for arms and head, but the tree view is perfect if you prefer RDM's precision.
How to animate the arms and legs right after body? First i was animating body and after this i wanted to animate the arm, just like Eltorro64rus did in this tutorial. But arm was stick at the start pose on all frames. That means that after changes arm returns to start pose
@@VenoM-gz7vi sorry for the late response, but you have to move the arms and legs before you record the frame.
Damn, this brings back some memories... Mostly of Gmod crashing..
This made me think that i will never animate something in Gmod, too much work, im lazy. LOL
woah
Oh it’s you
I like how your banner is still tf2.
I don’t have gmod. How is it?
7:32 was not expecting Luigi to come in like that, that was smooth and creative af.
He looks like he's some sort of assistant or apprentice, and he's just excited to be there to help eltorro64rus. Weirdly wholesome in a way.
I guess you can say he did a "Gooda job!"
Ay that tip for smoothing is great for more than just gmod animation.. Imma remember that on spectator recording! This tutorial shows how much of a work of art these vids are! Mad respect!
I can see the amount of experience I need to even be close to achieving what you do, like jesus.
Ikr?
Back in my day we took screenshots. Now the community has made Gmod into SFM.
yeah but at least you no longer have to painstakingly animate every single frame and only to be almost done and notice a small but noticeable mistake in the middle of the animation and have to do it all over again

"Brilliant is in simple"
it takes a genius to make the non-simple simple
Not only simple, he also made it amusing
Great insight into the effort, patience and knowlege - not to mention talent - put into these animations. Makes you appreciate them all the more.
Thanks! I will definitely use these tricks. I am still improving my animations daily but now that I know how to smooth, it will be MUCH better. Thanks man😊
Seeing this tutorial just reminds me of how far Gmod animations have come, from the pinnacle being considered just throwing invisible thrusters on a ragdoll and going wild to THIS.
Also, remember kids, SAVE. You think his saving here is overexcessive, but if you ever work in any professional field, or have a creative hobby, or even just play games, for the love of god, SAVE. You never know when a random application crash, blue screen, or power outage is gonna happen. And you don't wanna be ripped out of like 2+ hours of work just because you decided to put off saving for later.
I normally go to these kinds of videos for inspiration, I right now suck ass at making gmod animations, I just fail to make thing smooth, but each time I see a gmod video by Eltorro or CrazyScout I feel like I can do something better. And after I fail, I watch another video, again and again, Until I finally made a gmod video that is at least decent.
The man got some serious patience to do this and not stop 1/3 of the way through
Exactly, if I tried it, I would stop 1/33 of the way through lol
He probably has made a lot of cash from these
@@Zer01211 prolly not
idk abt gmod stuff but i make alot of vegas shitposts for my friends and honestly the only thing that gets me through half an hour of making my schlock is thinking "this is going to look so fucking dumb when i finish it i cant wait"
I made my first v_model shooting animation and I did something wrong, raged, and deleted absolutely everything. Still mad that I did that. It was an amazing animation and I haven’t been able to recreate it.
Remember to not give up on things like this. You’ll wish you did it once you delete it.
After seeing how much time you put into these animations I will greatly now appreciate them more.
This is so fun to watch, I figured the work was EXTREMELY tedious but it seems to need a lot of patience and creativity instead. This looks quite fun to do!

Your work is absolutely incredible! I always forget that you use GMod, but I would hesitate to say it's SFM. Keep up the good work!
I've experimented with some animation recently and watched some videos that explained animation very well.
Now, I have the perspective that all animation can be boiled down to establishing ideas, knowing the hows and whys of various types of movement and timing, and knowing when to pull back. That especially applies to animators like you who make straight-up insane and impossible movements that amplify the comedy but aren't too distracting or don't ruin the flow of the animation. I've also been learning that animation itself isn't all that complicated, it's just very time-consuming.
