    • @mruss2237
      @mruss2237 3 года назад +1

      Been here since 94 as well… (Im actually one of the few born here… moved away in 83 then back in 94 when 14). Being here so long I’d bet you probably don’t worry about the hurricanes too much either, nothing short of a Cat4/5 anyway. You know by now that even if aimed right at you it can turn last minute and miss almost completely. Honestly the biggest concern for me, being in Tampa/St Pete area is first the traffic, especially when snowbirds are down causing all kinds of issues. I see Deadly/severe accidents numerous times per week… second is all the drugs bc I have couple kids. I know drugs are everywhere now but Florida is saturated since a lot of it comes into country through the state. Gators don’t even make my top ten and I see them all the time. Now, if ppl saw from above how many sharks are constantly swimming around them when they’re in water at beach, most probably wouldn’t go in. At any given time there’s likely atleast one shark close and big enough to cause real damage if it wanted. Not to mention bulls and tigers are pretty common here. That said, I go in water all the time and am more worried about rays than sharks.

      I did not see a single elderly person on my last trip there. What I did see, having to share an UBER ride, because to get your own UBER, you pay for "Premium" which is like $50 to get a ride to the pool. People living in hotel rooms, because that is the same price as rent. It's not some sleepy old folks home. That was what I went for, to get some R&R, but it's really just an over-crowded city. You need to leave the USA now, to get a quiet place where your money will buy you a purely recreational experience. Just my sample size of one, thanks.

    Oh man, the guy in Florida robbing the Wendy's with an alligator story was the best I think I have ever heard because of how enthusiastic and funny this guy thought it was that he put it into his show and made it last so long .I never laughed so hard. There are some people that were just born to be a comedian and this guy was born to be a comedian hands down.
    I saw one of his other bits on here and he definitely was funny, he was talking about his tattoos then. His storytelling and delivery and he tweaks his voice and he laughs at himself in the story that he's telling because he knows how funny it is and I get so much enjoyment out of watching that and laughing with him that I can hardly breathe. I miss this type of everyday comedy of how stupid people are. LOL !!! You can't make this stuff up.
    What blew me away was the ending that there was no drugs involved or suspected. I lost it. I laughed really loud and hard. I noticed that there is no mention of alcohol but still super funny. This guy would be a hysterical friend to have. You can laugh for hours people watching or reading the news LOL hahaha

    I drove from Georgia to California a couple of times back in the 70s. It was about a 36 hour drive (with another driver) and three days of it was spent driving through Texas. At least it sure felt that way. That state goes on forEVER!

    10:53 Actually central Florida is cattle country, and our cowboys are known as Florida Crackers because they used to crack whips to control the cattle on drives. Every year we have people who ride the Cracker Trail which was the old cattle trail. So, yes, we have cowboys in Florida. In fact the King Ranch, the biggest ranch in the world located next to Kingsville, Texas has a ranch here in Florida.

    Being a Florida native (and wife is a Michigan transplant), I can appreciate the humor of these comedians. I can also tell you much of it is not exaggeration. The alligator story is true and occurred in late 2015. Joshua Douglas James was later arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill and unlawful possession and transportation of an alligator. When he appeared in court for the first time, the judge set his bail at $6,000 and ordered him to stay out of all Wendy's restaurants!

    He is right about old people in Florida. I'm a Nursing Assistant and I had clients way over 100. I had at least five in the same facility. Ages, was 113, 111, 110, 107, two were 105, 103, and 102. And quite a few in their 90's. We called them 'long livers.'

    "A thousand miles of suck"
    🤣
    That's one heck of an evocative expression.
    But honestly, Texas sounds like like it.
    Didn't they 'forget' for two years to tell the former slaves that they were free? 😬

    • @Shakaye52
      @Shakaye52 3 года назад +4

      Uhhh no, actually Texas is the place where the news of the emancipation proclamation actually reached the south. No body ‘forgot’ .. nobody knew… and once the news hit shore in Galveston the slaves there were freed and the news spread across the state. People in Texas have celebrated Juneteenth since that time… now all the rest of the country is acting like they just invented a new holiday.. no so much

    • @Shakaye52
      @Shakaye52 3 года назад +3

      I was born and raised in Texas and my town and all the neighboring towns had Juneteenth celebrations ALL of my life. My father had a large group of black employees and he always gave them the day off and there were parades and parties in the black communities in our area. I never said it was an official holiday but it was a holiday in the black community and it was celebrated through out Texas in many cities and towns well before it was a day recognized in many states.
