Wow! TONS of tips with this tut. Love it. Thanks for doing this!
Everything you need to know about basic editing. Great!
This was super valuable to me. Thank you!
I'm learning a lot, thanks for your time to show us good adobe pp cc lessons;), I can't wait for the new ones.
You are amazing and such a great teacher! Thank you for this, I learned a lot ☺️
Awesome! Can't wait for the next episode!!!
thank you. this was clear and enjoyable. you are good at this. :)
quick note: chapters in the description would be nice and make it easier to navigate through the tutorial if you missed something, or you know a few stuff and want to advance to others (just type the duration after and it will create a link - for example "6.insert and overwrite functions - 5:54")
Excellent demo. Thank you. raphael nyc
thanks very much for the hint on the playback on the 2nd monitor... since now i did it exactly wrong and was always kind of annoyed ... love it!
Thank You...from an AVID EDITOR learning Premiere.

These Type of vids are not available on Udemy Paid Courses. You are great person. JizakAllah
Having a problem with pre-roll. Press - or + on Numpad and edit box opens allowing me to enter a number but as soon as I enter number (say 6) the box closes and nothing happens. Can't enter double digits (for seconds or anything over 9 because box closes without the need to press the enter key. Any ideas?
it helps. thank you :D
Thanks 🙊
when i edit, the playback has some dropped frame, i know it won't affect exporting the video, but it is just annoying when reviewing the whole video and specially when i am doing time lapses it skips frames, do you know what i can do to fix this?
Thanks for the video! At 9:48 you show us how to insert using the comma shortcut. But I have a song in my timeline, and the the insert shortcut keeps splitting my audio tracks - Despite the fact that I have source patching activated for my video track Only. My Audio track is still being affected. How can i perform an insert without having my audio track split as well? Please help! Thanks.
Not sure what's going on there. Turn off source patching and de-activate the track (to the right of source patching). Or you could lock the audio track.
what you mean by add period? short cut key of period?
Yes. in 5:35 he says period is a shortcut for overwrite
Hi, how to REMOVE all In and Out Points in all video files. Thank you
Select all the clips in your project panel that you need to remove the INs and OUTs. Hit CTRL+SHIFT+X on a PC and OPT+X on a Mac.
@@chinfat thank you so much!
The options to clear ins and outs are greyed out for me? Anyone know how to fix this?
thanks
Is there a way to choose/see the exactly length of the In/Out Points?
I've asked this question on message boards, Facebook groups, and forums and I've never gotten an answer. Maybe someone here can help. Why even bother with the source monitor? I started out with Windows Movie Maker (where you basically edit on the timeline and program monitor. I've always found the Source Monitor using in and out points as an extra (or several extra) steps. I drop clips straight on the timeline and cut my footage there. The source monitor is there for a reason, but to me it escapes me.
I also work like you. Hardly use source monitor.
Hi why is it when i drag or add a video file to my time line (between 2 files) the file always over lays the file next to it. When I use the insert tab the file don't get inserted,(why i don't know) so i simple drag the file to the time line which works but like i said it over lays the file thats to the right of it, the file won't push everything to the right like it should.
+HOTR Drag the file into the timeline over the spot where you need it. Before letting go, hold down your CTRL key (PC) or CMD key (MAC) and you'll see arrows pop up on the in point of the clip. Then let go, and the clip will insert, shoving everything to the right.
+chinfat thanks so much for your help! Why won't it work the way you do it in this video?
Not sure. Check your keyboard shortcuts under the preferences and see if the comma is setup for an insert edit.
Random Q: How can we edit videos when the original files aren't available? For example, the RUclipsrs who create parody videos and edit films or other media together, such as Honest Trailers or CinemaSins. Is it possible to edit in the original video quality if the only thing we have is a link? Vimeo or YT or whatever
+Alex Black Yes. Most people will use a website to extract HD video from RUclips. If you Google convert2mp3, it will bring up one of the better site. You just copy and paste the URL from RUclips in the their website. It will extract the video and download it for you. Be sure to select MP4 format and 1080 HD.
I'm on pc.. and At 6.56, u r describing about using comma, period,or even dragging out the image to the timeline.. None of this is happening on my pc.. What to do??
+DibyaJyoti Ghosal I believe under FILE, you'll find the selection SHORTCUTS. Select that and see if everything is on Premiere Pro CC default shortcuts. It might be on Avid or Final Cut Pro Shortcuts.

i press the period (.) key and i checked my hotkeys it is set to overwrite but it doesnt move it down in the timeline for me! why isn't it working? thanks!
legit everything is the exact same I really don't understand why this isn't working and its driving me crazy
ok the issue was I had not highlighted the video track V1 This is now working for me! The only other issue I have now is "q" and "W" are suppose to trim the fat as I go through my edit cutting to the out point or towards the in point. But instead it is doing nothing :( The hotkey is called go to in point go to out point. is this not the right name for the shortcut I am trying to do?
my insert and overwrite is not working as well as the shortcut what am i gonna do
You may need to go to your Keyboard Shortcut layout and see if you are on the Premiere Pro keyboard default. Do you know where that is?
@@chinfat i dont know. i just started learning. any help. ?
@@jeanricadelgado Are you on Mac or PC?
