❓What’s your #1 tip for editing in Premiere Pro? Let me know 👇
I'm a beginner and about to try to start shooting music videos and editing. Do you have any advice for a beginners camera on a budget with good quality?
Is adobe premier better than Davinci Resolve 18 and what is the difference between them because am still stuck with editing on Resolve.. i'd also like to know if you could add music from apps like epicsounds to your youtube videos..
I’d like your manual please. Where’s the link?
I've been using Premiere Pro professionally for about 5 years and the number one tip I can give is USE THOSE LEFT AND RIGHT ARROW KEYS!!! Editing is about being precise and making things look natural based on the context of the video. The arrow keys supremely help with getting levels of detail that separate pros and novices. This seems like a no-brainer tip but it's still a good one in my opinion.
THANK YOU so much for this comment. I was really struggling with how to precisely cut a millisecond from my video and was so close to giving up then I came across your comment. Not a no-brainer for me 🙈
By far, the best tutorials on RUclips. Concise, understandable and very well made. Easily the only tutorial channel I don't skip through.
So awesome to hear it, cheers! 😊
Okay, I'm gonna be honest and proudly say: in my opinion, this is the BEST trainer on RUclips... and trust me, I've watched zillions of tutorials in many, many fields (Graphic Design, Audio, Ecom, Photography, etc.). No fluff, no unnecessary talk, SUPER straight to the point. Liked and subscribed, of course, and thank you SO MUCH, Justin, for saving me so much time, and keeping me engaged from the very beginning till the end!
You're welcome - great to hear that 😃
Agreed!
This is the best intro video ever. Very organized. I knew absolutely nothing about this software, but spent all day watching & taking notes. Now I feel like I understand how to get started. Seriously, you have a gift for teaching that not many have.. and I say this after watching dozens of videos that really frustrated me. Thank you very much. I so wish you taught coding/programming, haha.
Cheers - so awesome to hear it! 😃
Agreed! I did the same! You made something that I have never wanted to do, easy to understand. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge freely. And you did that without stuffing it full of desperate appeals for likes or follows. To everyone on RUclips and social media - this is how you GET likes and follows! (By doing something useful without bogging it down with loads of requests for likes and follows! It happens naturally!) Thank you. You’re the only one I have even explored donating to and this is my first video of yours I have watched. If I benefit from more, I may consider sponsoring your content with the paid for “thank-you”s.) 10 thumbs up!!
Definitely a great video!
I am blown away. If anyone cannot understand this tutorial. Then something is really wrong. Awesome explanation.
Sometimes life is simple. When I look for a tutorial and I see a Primal Video thumbnail, I click, I watch and I like. Such a helpful video once again. Thank you!
You're welcome, so glad you found the videos helpful 😀 - Hazel, PV Team
This is so helpful! more informative, and the explanation is clearer while also being concise than my college lectures about video editing on premier! definitely earned a sub
Thanks - great to have you here! 😃 - Hazel, PV Team
This is the clearest explanation of starting up on Premiere Pro I've seen so far! Thank you!!
Sounds awesome, you're welcome 😃 - Hazel, PV Team
Absolutely amazing! And I really love how creative you are with the thumbnails.. much love ❤️
Thanks - so awesome to hear it 😊
Thats one reason I clicked this video!😂 gotta love a great thumbnail
love the way you give all the keyboard commands & repeat them throughout (eg. ctrl Z) you're a very good teacher, this is very clear & easy to follow! (ok im sounding like a bot now xD ) Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome - glad you liked it! 👍
Learning key commands was a game changer for me!
I'm so happy to have found this. I'm trying to edit my first video ever, came into it not knowing the first thing about editing. I paid for something called Tomorrow's Filmmakers which did a good job on teaching basics of camera work but when it comes to teaching Premiere Pro, I have to say your tutorial is SO much better than theirs. After watching yours I feel like I can navigate the thing. Thank you!
So awesome to hear it, cheers 😊 - Hazel, PV Team
This is the exact tutorial I have been looking for. Thanks Justin
You're welcome - glad you found it here!
I didn't know you could reset your layout from the menus! I've accidentally closed a window before and couldn't easily get it back, ended up restarting the program. Thank you!
The best video editing tip I've had wasn't for PP specifically -- it was advice to edit from finish to start, because your last take is always the best. Saved me so much time. In fact, I think it was from your channel!
You're welcome - glad we're able to help! 👍
This information was so helpful. Took away new tips on how to do specific things I was struggling with.
Awesome - great to hear that! 👍
Sir make tutorial as a series on all video effects one by one by explaining option under every effects in details with examples... Peoples are making tutorial but not explain the option under every video effects has...
A RUclipsr named “Justin Odisho” has videos called “Every Effect Explained” for Adobe Premiere Pro so I’d recommend checking out that playlist!
@@Amerikinz14 thats who I was about to recommend! He has great videos
Thank you for makin a proper tutorial. I can't tell you how many tutorials are horrible yet people praise them in the comments. Most tutorials just narrate their work process instead of defining it like you do. The only thing I will say is that you didn't define what a layer is. It might seem intuitive to people who have worked with the adobe suite or modeling programs, but in reality it's not intuitive at all. The concept of layers is based on placing different elements that bring a whole together. In video it refers to sound and image, where the sound beneath the image brings sound to the video. There is also effects and even superimposing one image on top of another image. The concept of layers is perhaps even better understood as a kind of collage where different planes/elements are positioned one on top of the other to generate a complete finished image or video in 2 dimensions (for Graphic Design and most Videos) and 3 dimensions with Virtual Reality videos. As obvious as that may be, I think it would be good to define it first. It would make your tutorial even more perfect. Thank you for your work.
You're welcome, we appreciate the feedback - Hazel, PV Team
The comnt section is very positive and downright encouraging! Love it!
Awesome - glad you feel good about it 😊
Coming from zero knowledge about Pr, this made everything so clear. Simply a didactic homerun!
Thanks, glad you liked it 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
Thank you so much, Justin! You are the best instructor - you are so clear and concise
So awesome to hear it, cheers 😊 - Hazel, PV Team
For whatever reason this is the first video to get how q and w ripple deletes work. Thank you.
No problem - Hazel, PV Team
The Ripple edit function it saves time I been editing for six years plus now thank you for sharing.
Glad you found it helpful 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
This was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Thank you so much for the step by step! 😊 I was able to follow, take notes, and apply!! You have a great gift!!! THANK YOU!!

You just got a new subscriber, it's just as others said, you're talented in getting the information across and to the point effectively, thank you very much.
You're welcome - great to have you here! 😃 - Hazel, PV Team
I turned on captions, turned off sound, and set the playback speed to 0.25. IMHO this makes this tutorial 10 times better. (And have your Premier project running on a second screen!)
Cool, hope that helps 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
@@PrimalVideo Thanks for a great tutorial. Everybody learns differently. It was smart of you to ask for tips and feedback.
I just watched this through, I’ll take a practice, I hope it goes well🙏🏾
Great, all the best 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
I'm late to the PP party - so this video has been extremely helpful for me to get up to speed. Your content is always spot on - thanks again.
You're welcome, cheers!
This so helpful. Unfortunately I don’t have one but this video will help out to have one
So glad it helped 🙏
Premiere Pro newbie here. I have some experience with Photoshop and Audition, so I thought I could meander my way through. I was STRUGGLING. This video helped explain some simple, yet key concepts that I was missing my just diving in. THANKS JUSTIN!!!
You're welcome - so glad it helped! 🙏
THANK YOU! This is perfect - everything you need to know, and nothing you don't, as a complete beginner.
Thanks to this brilliant video plus one from Vince Opra about captions, I went from being completely bewildered to making good video edits with captions in a few hours. The only thing I got stuck on was when I managed to accidentally change the cursor from the selection tool to the razor tool and then couldn't grab anything on the timeline, and it took me a while before I realised I just needed to click on the selection tool again. Thank you a million times for this excellent content.
This is definitely the best tutorial Ive seen so far! I have been fighting to learn asobe premiere pro for a couple weeks and I think I increased my knowledge 75% in this one video! Now I can maybe finish editing the first video for this new channel tonight! Woohoo!
Sounds great, all the best with your edits 😊 - Hazel, PV Team
@@PrimalVideo thank you so much! Video #1 is uploading now! You guys rock!
Fantastic video. I was so confused about which app I should use to start with my videos, so I chose Adobe and followed your guide. I can say I'm on it :) is about the time I can add it and daily work, for I can be super good at editing videos. Thank you so much for your fantastic video!
You're welcome - glad you liked it! 👍
by far the most helpful tutorial ive found, created my first video with your help. thanks

You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
Really Great Video. Thanks. I have been using an old 2013 Mac Book with iMovie for years. After the last Mac OS update, it has gotten to slow. A new Mac costs too much money, so I have been trying to learn Premiere. This really helps. Two more things I have to learn. How to do picture in picture and how to blur a section of the video to hide something.
Thanks, so glad you found it helpful - Hazel, PV Team
Thank you justin!
You’re welcome!
This has been so helpful thank you! Does anyone else have issues when getting to the adding music part? As soon as I adjusted the volume of various parts with keystone, it started glitching and the music wouldn't play properly. Advice please!
This is insane man!! no one is teaching on youtube like you, to the point and believe me lots of paid courses are very very boarding. after a month i found this tutorial and this is a painkiller for me right now and thanks man ☘

BEST MOST Recent Beginners Guide out there right now for Premiere! Thank you for doing this
I do not have the "effects" option in my bottom left corner window. I just have Project and Media Browser. How would I add all those other options? Like Effects, Library, Info, Markers, like you have? Thanks
You're welcome - good luck with your edits!
@@PrimalVideo Any idea how I would add those options as you discussed at 13:15? All I have is Project and Media Browser on top of that section. Thank you!

The panel on the left side of my screen doesn't have the effects option, or any of the other ones, just the project and media browser
I'm new to editing and have been using premiere pro for just under a year, after using it at uni for short films etc. Any tips for someone who is trying to get into editing on a more regular basis?
I am going from FCP to Premiere and this has been helpful so far but there are parts of you video that don't correlate with my interface. I don't have and option for "Effects control" for example to add a zoomed in shot?

New here! This is so helpful, thank you :) Is it possible to adjust the speed of a MOGRT either in After Effects or Premier Pro? For example, I have a number counter MOGRT but I want to actually slow down the speed at which the numbers are counted. I know how to extend the duration of the clip but how about slowing down the FPS in a MOGRT?
4:11 Is how my brain felt trying to learn all this I’m brand new to adobe never used before lol
Well done for this amazing insightful and precise video tutorial. I watched and step by step paused it to practise. I now feel like a pro already. You definitely have my subscription to your channel. Thank you
