    Hey man! Bit of a late response but I only just got my first '98 GU Patrol so I am slowly working my way through the essential DIY mods :)
    Thanks for sharing, this is great stuff!
    I did pretty much the same (Part 1) as you, perhaps my drill hole was a couple of mm closer to the original and I used the original bolt, however, my barn door no longer entirely shuts... have you come across this before?

    can you perform snatch recoveries from those shackle points on the rear bumper?

    • @JTactical
      @JTactical  5 лет назад

      Sorry for the late reply. With the right shackles a snatch recovery would be possible... But those ones are only rated to 3/4 tonne.

    • @jacobsmith-jj1uf
      @jacobsmith-jj1uf 3 года назад

      The right answer is no, those are tie down points or tow points. They will not be rated for a snatch.

    Nice job, I've had the door swing back on me so will be doing this mod.. The roof rack, are the mounts part of the rack please or is this a tray to fit onto roof bars? Thanks

    • @JTactical

      I'm not sure... Maybe?

    • @cjsingo
      @cjsingo 2 года назад

      I tried to replicate this on a y61 patrol today with same strut length, not the same clearances available to mount the body end bracket so my strut was reaching shortest point and bottoming out before door fully closed unfortunately.. will have to conjure up a work-around.. cool idea though!

      they definitely dont, you can hear the door pop open much louder after hes done because theres more pressure on the hinge, that hinge must become shorter and i think he has to slam it to get it shut
