Red carpet & sheep skin seat covers making it almost like a pimps car. Just need white fluffy dice hanging off the mirror😂

the y60 has been my dream car for ages - currently rebuilding a pajero 1999 for offroading, while I do like it - every time I look at it I can just imagine rebuilding a patrol y60, I will get there one day!
Anything to be best friends with Ron Burgundy
Bullbar kool Tommy, going to suit the theme of the truck and polish it up, will look awesome. If you're going to use it to winch with, you may need to strengthen the bar somewhat. Why not gusset the joins with 3 or 4mm alloy plate? Might be a bit of stuffing around but worth the piece of mind and will hopefully act as a bit of insurance for a period correct bar.

Roll out the red carpet for Ron Burgendy! The woodern steering wheel smells of mahogany. Still on the fence for the bullbar could look good once cleaned up, With all these retro mods, any Gq "safari" inspired decals coming?

I've done the same job on my GQ, but with sound deadening on the floor and closed cell foam under the carpet. Aside from the massive difference in noise, if you don't at least put some underlay under the carpet, the carpet forms to the ribs in the floor and looks horrible. I put a serious sound system in mine so the dynamat type insulation made a massive difference to making the truck quiet, especially up the firewall.

Can’t wait for the low rider suspension, that makes the front end bounce. If you don’t go out on the maiden voyage where a sheepskin coat and a very bright pimp suit from the 70’s I will be bitterly disappointed. Really enjoyed this build mate 👍

This build is coming along nicely....you gone this far you should try getting a deal for some car builders or another sound deadner solution....running those tyres is all your going to hear over that new stero....I like that your bringing crome back should look good that bull bar once it's polished.

Wicked episode mate, it’s looking great. I pretty much only build 84 to 96 hilux’s and 4runners but this has me thinking of doing a GQ build. They are a great platform. Here’s to 100k this year 👍

Most original GQ build on RUclips. Retro-shaved-sleeper.
Polished ally bar might glare out with the headlights on but worth a shot. It could work really well cut down and polished as an ally OEM+ bar. Would be cool paired with polished ally snorkel and rear bar.

When i had my GQ i was forever trying to work out how to swap the position of the headunit and the AC controls. Knowing that piece is now available is making me think of getting a GQ again.

Absolutely loving the build, one of the best I’ve ever seen. My only annoyance is that I’m guessing it won’t be used for proper 4bying, but that’s just me. Either way, fucking keen to see the end result

WARNING: I hope those are clean rags under the workbench mate. If they are dirty or oily rags they can self combust and burn your workshop down. Also digging the new RL logo.

Before doing the main coat for the floor under the carpet, is that white paint a primer used to put over the wire brushed rusted spots and then once that dries you put the urkiprotec main coat

What about those chromed wheel covers that spin independently of the wheels, make it look like your movin when your stopped?
Make sure you Velcro your dash mat down otherwise over time it can wear down the fresh black paint from vibrations. Looking great though and would love to see a diy set up in the back with the dual battery system 👍

I did the sheepskin fluffy style covers once in my VL. Comfy but damn I got sick of the static shocks on the car body when I got out.
