Built The First Sliver a while ago using a modified version of your Sliver Hivelord list. Gotta say, homing sliver into Cloudshredder Sliver and Manaweft Sliver allows for cascade to almost make profit, which is kind of insane. Fun deck, glad to see this one on the channel!
i know im quite late to the deck tech here but thank you for this I've had the first sliver some more slivers and some decent lands that don't go into my other decks from modern horizons that have been sitting around for ages till now
6/14/2019 The First Sliver’s last ability only applies while it’s on the battlefield. If The First Sliver’s own cascade ability lets you cast another Sliver card, that Sliver won’t have cascade.
Mmm, I have a guy in my play group that plays First Sliver, and I know how powerful it can be, but this deck is a little underwhelming because there are a lot of 2 and 3 CMC slivers, so you would most likely only get 1 or 2 triggers per cast, even with the higher CMC slivers. I know that most slivers are 2/3 CMC, but there are high cost slivers that do the same as the cheaper costed slivers that would still work just for the cascade triggers
Sometimes efficiency is better than explosiveness:) It's a shit life if you can't cast any creatures after the First Sliver is removed because you decided to put in a bunch of 6 drops in your deck.
Another "upgrade" to the lands is gateway plaza, rupture spire, and transguild promenade. They all need to be paid 1 when enters but they tap for any color. And the plaza can be fetched with the circuitous route
I just wanna say that I enjoy your videos and the work you do! Next I wanna say that some of the deck you have done in the past I have followed on building and I still have. The sliver deck you did sliver hivelord I still have and just changed a little but here and there. I now run a different commander and less field wipes but it basically has the skeleton design. I say skeleton because when I build decks, I like to start of on a list and then transform the decks to how I would like to play. But my friends love the deck, sure the hate slivers but because isn't not top tier expensive deck they like it. So I wanna say thank you for showing us fun and easy deck list that many play groups enjoy. :)
I built a "no slivers" sliver deck after I pulled a foil First Sliver from a pack of Horizons. Basically, tutor for Conspiracy and cast anything. I pulled it off the first game, won, and promptly disassembled the deck.
Have you considered making videos where you play test some of the budget decks you've made? I think seeing them action would be amazing. Thanks again for doing what you do and keep up the good work.
Definitely recommend trying out Quest For Renewal in this deck, if you have Quick Sliver and the mana Slivers out you can dump half your deck onto the field before the turn even gets back to you
Yea l, I’ve got a pretty tuned Ur dragon deck so I can easily just swap all the ramp, draw and mana base to this deck if I want to play something different. I’ll just have to pick up the slivers, and I’ll totally be getting the Secret Lair with those sweet, sweet art! Did my first Kickstarter for the play mat, it looks super cool! Good job as always with your videos!
That mana base has got to be so hard. No wonder I seen all of that ramp there. In my 4 color and 5 color decks, I am atleast fetching shocks, even using the Mirage slow fetches when I don't have a spare khans fetchland around.
Quick suggestion "possibility storm" just cause it's fun and with slivers it can be a bit much considering you can go from one drop to 5 or six then cascade one by one back down 0 if you're lucky
Heck yes brother I just started build this commander cause well...I have alot of slivers and this would be my first wburg commander freaking reading my mind like a wizard ty mitch
Cascade seems like a fairly budget friendly type of deck given that a lot of budget is just playing cards that aren't as efficient mana wise, dropping a six mana sliver doesn't seem that good until that sliver cascades. Got a bunch of cascade cards in Commander Legends and now some reprints of some slivers is making me really want to build this deck.
I intentionally don't run any 1 mana spells in my first sliver deck except virulent sliver so basically guarantee I get it early in the game. If I cast any two mana sliver or cascade into one, then I know I'm getting virulent and that way I can typically take at least one player that turn or the next. Unfortunately since it's not true infect, the clock isn't as fast as I'd like, but it still works. Another fun little-known card that I run is Ancestral Knowledge which lets me stack the next ten cards in my library so I can make sure I can cascade through a few creatures and not jump from a 5 CMC to a 2 CMC and miss the 3-4 drops or cascade into a non-sliver.
Made a First Sliver changeling deck, LOVE it! Would love to see a changeling take on the first sliver. It’s by far my most expensive deck, as I normally aim for a pretty budget build, but the majority of the expense is in the mana base.
Syphon sliver and Boros charm are also really good, I'm just not sure what I'd take out for them however. For a deck that wants lots of lands, Edge of autumn is pretty bad. if you draw it after turn 4, its dead card, you can't cast it. I suggest kodama's reach instead. it does cost one more to cast, but isn't conditional. I love this deck, I've wanted a sliver commander for a long time and I was thinking about the new Silver overlord they are reprinting in those lair boxes, not sure if I'm gonna get one, but this is just fine.
I think Morophon should be somewhere in here, likely as a reasonable upgrade. It combos stupidly well with Hibernation Sliver and The First Sliver. Not to mention, it's not only an anthem effect, not only basically ramp, but also just about all the color "fixing" you'd ever need.
@@Goldenracer2 This is a comment from three years ago, when Morophon could be gotten for $5 to $10. Just check the price history.
