For me I prefer HRV because:
1. Its price is more appealing. I can go with the highest trim with HRV (EX-L $28,150), but for the same price I cannot even get a lowest trim CRV (LX $29,500).
2. I just want a vehicle for regular use with my wife around the suburbs.
3. I may not need that large cargo as of a CRV. At least a HRV's cargo is much larger than a Civic or even an Accord.
4. The engine is simpler so it should be better for the long time maintenance.
5. It will be my first car so a smaller size would be more friendly to me as I'm not that experienced, especially when parking.
6. I like the exteriors of both. The front of CRV looks more grand, but I'm ok with the front of HRV as it looks kinds of cute.
I think if someone wants to buy a CRV, he or she should be more concerned on:
1. Power.
2. Comfortableness for long ride trip with multiple passengers.
3. Large cargo.
4. Trust the turbo or hybrid technology of Honda (actually I trust too, but I prefer simplicity).
Turbo issue😂 on cr v
My concern is the long term reliability of the hybrid and turbo models, so my preference leans toward the HR-V as the simpler design.
exactly anyone can go to a dealer and do a review, iam more interested in a real owner then just a show-n-tell, wish the pricing was fair nationwide, they are not!
@@fishycomicsyeah I just bought a used 2023 hr-v sport with 16k miles for $26,000 and the cr-v was like $29-30,000 for 55k miles😅 here in oregon
Turbo engine already proved itself not reliable. However, I think hybrid will be good, I don’t remember some major problems from Honda for them, not just CR-V but everyone they made and it’s a 2.0L, usually solid engines
@@acenewholland564I’m more concerned about how slow the hr-v is. I have had my Honda accord 2020. No problems with engine.
@@TommaurerMaurer the last generation of HR-V were correct for performance and had good gas mileage. The new ones, however, tend to disappoint on these elements sadly (also they lost magic seats, I heard some disapproval about it)
I got the hrv only because I didn’t need a larger model. Love it.
What trim level? Is the motor loud? Enough power?
The HRV is a perfect city car for retired seniors. We bought a white one 3 weeks ago. Happy owners. 😄😄
I believe the HRV is a tad smaller. I have a 2020 CRV Hybrid EXL. Whenever I'm near a HRV, doing a visual comparison, CRV is a tad bigger. No complains about my CRV yet.
They removed the lane changing camera on the newer Hondas , which was the best feature of Honda and made it slower.
They are doing that on some of them because of the chip shortage.
@@bettysmith4527 , also the price has gone up I believe.
That was one of my favorite options on my Civic hatchback...it was much easier making that right lane shift
I wish Honda would put a hybrid powertrain into the HRV.
YES!!!
They did, they are selling hybrid hr-v in Europe. Don’t know why not in US
Hmm, maybe soon?! @@jetli80
I really like that the HRV is naturally aspirated. Wish the CRV had an option.
I went from an 18 civic with the 1.5 and 42 highway MPG. With this car I spend $40, instead of $30 to fill up. I drive 1,000 miles or less a month so it is really negligible for me, I prefer the naturally aspirated tried and true simplicity. To each their own.
I agree. That’s why i went for hr v. Not a fan of turbo issue😂
A tire repair kit!?!? Wtf
Thanks for the review!!
I wish Honda would put a spare tire into the CRV hybrid.
Thanks. I've wanted this comparison. My problem with both are the available colours. I wish Honda hard colour offerings that included an orange or yellow.
Wondering about the driver room . I’m 6’3” and 250 lbs
What about getting in and out? My folks need something that doesn't require lifting yourself in and out. Is the seat height (from the ground) similar?
Getting in and out of my hrv is fine
I’m not a fan of the hybrid for two reasons. One battery reliability and the second is no spare tire. My only concern on the HRV is why take a step back on the MPG from the previous generation HRV. I like the size of the HRV but again the only thing missing is the MPG. I would prefer a non hybrid CRV
The HRV is beautiful. I just picked mine up. I am a bigger guy, small family. The power is fine, tons of room, beautiful interior, sexy look from the outside.
HRV is very good to drive. Mpg is not that much an issue in actual use. It can reach civic mpg as well specially in highways and a bit of city driving. I have FWD
Wife said the HRV was easier to get into. Lower ground clearance.
I will choose the CRV Hybrid just to avoid that 1.5T, for matter of fact, going to Honda Dealer soon because our local Jeep dealers do not have the Wrangler I want.
Lol😂 why go for wrangler? Reliability issues
Get CRV
Thank you for your video. It was very informative of both models. Wish Honda made the HRV hybrid. 🤗
In europe hrv has hybrid
CRV. Hybrid, storage capacity, mpg, car looks/ design, motor/ hp...
The USA hrv is the European zrv and the european hrv is the Vezel
I would like to see HRV in hybrid. I love the size of HRV!
Debating on CRV EXL 2024 or the Tesla
Definitely the CRV EXL hybrid, electricity price is going higher and higher.
Also if you love poor build quality with uneven gaps all over, thr high risk of fire, you can go with Tesla.
Also with the new battery technology coming to the market, a Tesla is a poor choice.
@@DZ-cm5xw lol! Depends on if it comes like that. Risk of fire is kinda scary though. Tesla's are actually cheaper and the electricity price is lower right now. The CRV EXL has had problems I've seen. Although Tesla isn't too far behind with there's lol
Tesla has three very undesirable features:
1. Insurance rate, depending on where you live and driving history, Tesla costs twice to three time more to insure.
2. Repair cost. Due to the mega press construction, even small damage can total the car. Also Tesla are extremely expensive to repair and normally take a longer time.
3. Resale value.
HRV sport 2024 Honda is a gas guzzler
My 2023 hr-v sport somehow came with the blind spot warning in the mirror
Lewis Gary Jackson Steven Martinez Lisa
The HRV is anemic. The 2 liter is dangerously slow.
No it isn’t. It’s not dangerous at all.
I just bought one, nothing wrong with the power. I have a Civic Touring if I wanna scoot around. This is for work commute's in the winter, driving kids to school. It is perfect..
Not really. I am ok even on highways
Dude, everyone knows that the lights flicker because of the camera
LOL No, dude, they don't. Many people ask about it.
Dude, no.
I didn’t! I went to the dealer and drove these yesterday and wondered why the ones he had had crazy headlights lol.
Nope
What about bank interest rates in 2023? 8% interest on a brand new car, no way! The interest is 12,350 $ the amount you pay the bank on top of the price of the car when you buy a base model Honda c-rv without 4x4. Calculate bank interest for your favorite model. What do you think!? I for one cannot accept such a thing from the banks. I am no longer interested in buying a new car.
Yeah wait til next year.
@@Mark-pb8kj , what will happen next year , the interest will be 16% or 20% ? 😂
I pay in full for the last 6 vehicles. I will pay in full for the CRV too. I do not like thieves working in banks. You get the money, pay it off. Why feed fat bankers. They really enjoy using your money for golfing, fancy restaurants, nice vacation, huge house with a mistress on a fancy vehicle. Bankers do not like me paying off so fast. TOO BAD.
Instead of buying the latest technology and restaurant eating, save that money up.
