After watching numerous reviews on this thing, I pulled the trigger and picked one up. One of the best decisions I made EVER!!! It's absolutely mind boggling how dynamic it is, especially on the blue channel! 🤘🤘🤘
Would be helpful to know exactly how you ran this to make the video... just going by what I can see i'd guess you're direct into the BE-OD Deluxe input from your guitar, and the BE-OD's output is going into the FX Return of that Orange head? Then the speaker out of the Orange into to either an IR loader like a 2-notes Torpedo or an actual mic'ed cab? Some clarity would be appreciated.
Friedman said the two channels can have the same amount of gain if you want via the internal switches. They aren't voiced differently. They are exactly the same with different gain levels as far i concern.
Nice video. Would you say the single pedal version has the same sound as the higher gain channel of the dual pedal? The (single version vs the dual version) have a little different controls, (as you know) so I was wondering if you can duplicate the same sounds with the smaller single channel version. Thanks and well done video. Phil NYC / Jersey Shore Area
Nice demo bro. I hear a lot of videos demoing this pedal and they didn't sound to good. And I'm thinking to myself, how come I have 1 and it sounds awesome lol. Your demo sounded great bro. Ty
I use an EHX Overlord which I love but been thinking about changing it up. Would still like to use a dual OD, anyone know of a good shootout video featuring various good dual OD pedals similar to the Overlord and Friedman here?
@@RiffsAndBeards I played a gig last night with Pod Go into my amps(Vox night train) return, with the Friedman amp as my preamp. It sounded great. Would you think the pedal would sound better than the pod gos Friedman preamp?
What annoys me is I recently bought a valve preamp pedal, AMT with the mini tubes , and every review I've seen of this sounds so fkn good I just want one !!! RIP my wallet !
Great sound! Question... will this sound good straight through a Carvin DCM200L power amp? Might I need an EQ before it hits the power amp? Trying to downsize from lugging 100 watt heads to gigs Thanks, Eric
This is cool , but still happy with the original....as for the mids, I just use my mxr eq and add 3db or so in the lower mid frequencies and I get perfect tones.....great demo!
That sounded great. It looked like that was plugged into the effects loop. Correct me if I am wrong, please. I am looking for a solid pre-amp to plug into various amps, and I'm not 100% sure what I wan't yet.
Tosin himself even has both of them on his pedalboard, he uses the Friedman for his rhythm tones and the Pathos for some of his leads. I think it’s safe to say they’re both fantastic pedals, just with different flavors.
Less compressed sound. more open and less smooth lol. Cs guitars and wampler did a video here on RUclips to give you more details if you want to understand further
Have you used that pedal in front of a distorted amp or only a clean signal? I am really looking for a dual OD/Boost to put in front of my Mesa Trem-O-Verb. I am currently using an always-on tube screamer, an AC Boost, and a Rat to extra crazy gain, but i'd love to just have one pedal. Any recommendations?
I know other people said it already... but where’s the rate or roast episodes? At least once a week would be nice. Just a suggestion. Every day this is the first RUclips channel I check for new videos
Hey Ryan - great video. Thanks for posting. Just wondering - is the lower gain channel just a way of switching gain on the fly in the middle of a song or is it different? I heard the difference on the video but at the same setting. Is the sound going to be the same on the higher gain channel with the gain set lower? Thanks!
Personally I don’t understand why you would need three different types of eq use for one rig. If you Guitar has an EQ, your amp has one, and a preamp has one. I feel like it’s a bit too much. With that many filters and one guitar signal it may sound kind of often weird after a while.
Fluff had the pedal going through the amp fx loop, can't use the amps eq when thats happening, all the eq shaping will come from the pedal alone which is the preamp, if you do it like that
It doent have that boomy lowmid when palmiting whitch can also be good especily when increasing the thigth control whitch i would think of it as how much low end you want to distort
How did you deal with being a husband and father who also was trying to build a career? That's where I am now, my "for now" career is about 65 hours a week but it lets my wife stay home with the kid. When I get home though from a 12 hour shift I need to go in my office and try to build my skills so that I won't work this soul sucking job forever. My wife has a problem with that and has become a suffocating nag . I just want to kill myself
WRONG. The two channels are voiced exactly the same. The only difference is the amount of gain. If you dial up the gain on the crunch channel and back off the gain on the lead, the two can sound identical
When I got to try this at a gear show this past summer I was blown away at how much better it was than the original. So versatile and organic feeling.
You thank us for watching, but we thank you for posting!
hi joey
Dave Friedman has the Midas touch. I don’t think that guy can build a mediocre product.
4:06 min = Yes, it CHUGS !
Oops, wrong channel ...

I have the original BE-OD and probably don't NEED this one, but man oh man if this thing isn't SWEET.
This vid convinced me to buy it yesterday. Excellent review, sir.
Christ this pedal sounds amazing!!
I traded in my MXR 5150 pedal for this.
No regrets what-so-ever.
This pedal is AWESOME!
i did as well. the evh was real nice, but the BE OD Deluxe is amazing
BE-OD Deluxe>BE-OD>5150>Revv G3
BE-OD is an amazing pedal. I couldn't get a decent sound from the 5150
@@daghetto101 sorry what does this mean?
@@kirieley It means the BE-OD Deluxe is superior to all the pedals he typed after it.
To me, this is the first demo showing that the pedal can go into more "modern hi-gain" territory. Nice job!
Channels are voiced exactly the same with less gain on the lower channel. -Dave Friedman
The best sounding OD pedal ive ever heard
Wow. Sounds great. It really can do it all.
finally a mids knob
that works
But no tight knob , only a tight switch... Personally I think it's better having a tight knob instead of a mid knob.
Gotta say, this may be the catchiest demo track you ever did, in my opinion! Want a full edition!!!
I think this tight switch position (down) 4:12 sounded better than this (up) 4:06 which you ended up using.
My be-od will be here today!!
Great pedal I love the single version but I hope to try this one
When is rate or roast coming?
fluff we need answers
what aren't you telling us

Love my Dirty Shirly and BE-OD into 2 DSL 100's same time , it takes days dialing Harmonics low then full . Wow 💥
Old video, and it sounded great, but WTH was the pedal running in to -- the front of the amp or FX loop? :D

Tight OFF is where the men live!
VERY GREAT VIDEO,
WICH DO YOU PREFER ...THE KSR CERES OR THE FRIEDMAN BE OD DELUXE
MANY THANKS...
Sounds awesome Fluff.
Nice video. What's your setup, sir? Amp? Channel? Other effects?
Is it just me or does this sound more like an actual Deizel VH4 than the Deizel VH4 pedal?
11/10 for nu metal ISH riffs from 1:42-1:50
0/10 for playing nu-metal.
No, you have been wonderful and we have been fluffed.
your mixes sound fucking amazing
Are you using it as preamp or in front of another amp?
That fukn sounds great
Excellent job there Dave F
Hey Fluff! Can this be used with a the Two Notes CAB M as a headphone rig?
I NEED that pedal, so much !!!!

So what's the signal chain yo? You going into an interface? A tube amp?
Hellphoenix Studio his orange is on under the pedal I’m guessing he’s using it
Great review man! Thank you 🙏!
I'm not obsessed, you're obsessed!
04:07 The best tone until this
What is the position of each trim pot?
That mix!!! Omg was awsome
Wish there was a Dirty Shirley and a BE OD as a dual channel version!
Is the be-od deluxe as noisy as the be-od?
This thing sounds amazing. Would it sound this good through a blues jr vi?
Shanto XD Manoukian yes it would I have a fender hot rod deluxe three and it’s ridiculous. Tip run it through the front end of the amp you’ll thank me
Anyone know the song he's playing for the mix? Or is it just something he jammed for the demo?
i use my thru the orange rockerverb 100 mk3 also its badazz
U used this pedal in fx loop?
Your intro music do you have a download link for it? I would love to hear that on repeat at the gym, slow and heavy!!!!
I use an EHX Overlord which I love but been thinking about changing it up. Would still like to use a dual OD, anyone know of a good shootout video featuring various good dual OD pedals similar to the Overlord and Friedman here?
You need to review the sonicake black hammer
Hey Fluff,
How are you running this pedal?
Orange clean channel or fx loop?
Cheers.
Would you dare to play this pedal out in a live gig?
Can you use this into the return of my amps loop to replace my amps preamp?
Yes!
@@RiffsAndBeards I played a gig last night with Pod Go into my amps(Vox night train) return, with the Friedman amp as my preamp. It sounded great. Would you think the pedal would sound better than the pod gos Friedman preamp?
Hi, can we plug this pedal direct in audio interface and use two notes Wall of Sound ?
I just bought one of these, but I don't see a battery compartment. What type of AC adapter do I need to power it? I'm confused - lol
9v or 18v. But I'm sure you know this by now lol
Dude, whats up with the Greenday riffs?
Hi
Do you recommend running the output as you have it in the video.round 2 o'clock?

what are thoughts on the amptweaker pedals ( tight rock and big rock pro) ?

Same as the original but most importantly it has a mid control!!
The mid control definitely makes a huge difference. Too bad you still have to take the thing apart to get to the trim control.
