I use the original Friedman BE-OD through an Orange Micro dark with the matching cab, anyone who hears it can't believe the sound and tone and clarity I get out of my setup, I paid 89.99 for the pedal and 249.99 for the Orange Micro Dark setup, love it you can't beat it for the money and sound you get.
You should try running it in front of the amp clean. Running it in the effects loop is cool, but it would be nice to see how it sounds in both situations.
I don't understand why people run pedals into the effects loop, especially distortion or overdrive pedals - I like to blend the distorted tones with the preamp tones.
@@hinjurock They do it because you get zero color from the preamp of the amp. Obviously the power amp still plays a role but the tone is coming from the pedal.
I really appreciate that you showcase how the pedal cleans up with the volume knob on the guitar. I wish more reviewers would do that because I play almost exclusively with one tone and use my volume knob for a clean tone. Thanks Ola!
Sounds great Friedman is actually probably the best producer of amps and pedals on the market. I've yet to hear anything from them that sounds anything less than amazing.
Aside from room mic sound or whatever is going on, you can tell its much less saturated and metal sounding than your usual sound and that’s an achievement to make Ola play other stuff than the usual.
Dang that blue channel mellow stuff has me sold on this! Such a great clean break up / od sound! Thanks for really stepping out of the box for a real showcase of this preamp. 🙏🤘

Agreed. Since the wood got up on the wall, the cab mics have been picking up a lot of room sound. I think he should put all that sound dampening material from the wood wall behind the curtain on the other wall. Would help tame that room and wouldn’t see it due to behind the curtain
@ 2:40 I was sold. The "thunk" is there, but the way that the Friedman circuit lends such a musicality and dynamic to it all. Real S**T, much better than most of the s**t out there...
I've tried the one channel version of this pedal and I KNOW it sounds better than this review, hopefully your local shop has a BO-OD pedal (Deluxe or not). Keep an eye out for this pedal guys it really sounds great.
Totally, but that is due to the effects loop run I think. It just isn't a real preamp, and it needs one to sound really good. Tested one into a Marshall DSL clean channel and it sounded kickass.
@@1989eol This is interesting since the Revv G series pedals that havw a similar concept yet they sound great into a power amp. This does not sound great.. in this clip at least. I would love to try one in person.

Watching “Ola testing shit” whilst taking shit. I’ve grown strangely accustomed to this ritual, to the point I’m not sure if I can.... go... without hearing a crazy Swedish man play guitar and burp occasionally

Milo9 Usually that's done in a multi-mic setup as that far out loses a lot of the high end as is heard in this video. Single mics are more balanced sounding a little closer in towards the center.
T-75 is a bright speaker to begin with. So he probably found that to be the sweet spot for that. Single micing is done where it sounds good. There are zero rules just guidelines to go by. 😉
jrtme There is one rule: If it sounds good, do it. ;) While the mic placement is personal preference, Ola's mic placement in previous videos has been spot on. That's why the change and resulting loss of highs and clarity stood out to me. I had just wondered if he had bumped it by accident as happens far too often with miked cabs.
Hi Ola I just bought a 4K TV your videos look so beautiful but my internet connection sucks at the moment so I have to watch in 1080p 😢 still looks awesome though I guess. Keep up the good work your videos are great :) 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love this channel 👍. I am a total outrageous beginner and got a long way to go. Leaning towards heavy metal because I have need for loudness. What I am currently using is Fender Mustang LT25 a programmable modeling amp which I believe is awesome for a beginner like me.
Most impressed by the clean work. I wouldn’t even use this pedal in a 2-channel fashion; I’d utilize the pedal’s first channel as the clean tone all the time. Too much character there not to.
