Love the fun you all have talking about money - it diesn't always have to be an intimidating chore. This show feels like an invitation to normalize fun about money! Thank you!
A topic suggestion for a future episode. I worked in HR and I always hear about someone putting 8% of their income into their 401k and the company matches 6%, so they think they are putting in 14%, but that’s not always true. In almost every case the devil is in the details. Some companies only match a % of what the employee contributes, and in many cases, the company contribution is capped at a certain amount. Many folks hear a company contribution %, but don’t look at the details. This would be an important topic to discuss.
Not to mention the lawsuits Carvana is dealing with because people weren’t getting the titles for the cars. Carvana can’t sell cars in some states anymore
My dad has been trying to save peanuts to leave me basically my whole life. And a) he’s TERRIBLE with money so there’s not a lot anyway and he’s 70 B ) I would MUCH rather have had his time growing up but he wouldn’t give it. And now regrets missing my life. C) it’s sad to watch him pinch and skrimp and save when I WANT him to enjoy now. Leaving your kids a pile of money should not be your #1 priority. Leave them a firm foundation in Jesus and a heart full of memories.
Airlines can fix overhead bin space by simply ensuring every person only puts one item in the overheads. The rules say one up there and a handbag or computer bag at your feet, but then 50% of people seem to bring on a bag of duty free and put huge handbags up their too. So if someone struggles, the air hostess should just go through nearby bags in the overheads say "whose is this?" and if anyone answers twice, they get that item either checked in the hold or put at their feet. Easy...
I agree, that and ensuring any luggage over height/size requirements must be checked. Everytime I go on a plane I see this is why there's no room for peoples overhead and why everyone is pushy to get on the plane first
I want my laptop bag in the overhead. All overhead space should not be for people’s big bags. I check a bag and should be able to use that space as well to keep my foot area clear.
@@adbbbbbbbbbbb I have no issue with your one cabin bag being that, if you checked everything else. What I hate is people that bring a bag for the overhead bin, a laptop bag, a handbag, a duty free bag and then wonder why someone else can’t put their one bag overhead. George I use that sweetened condensed coconut milk 🥥 too bud! Good stuff. We use it with organic chocolate chips to make fudge! ESP at Christmas 🎄 try it!! 😁

When her & Kanye were building their house, they seemed to go slower than expected, and they talked about budgeting for it ❤ I think the rest of the family (besides maybe Kourtney) kinda gave a side eye 😏
George, Rachel is going to have far more than 20 mil when Dave kicks it.... And I think you're low-balling yourself too. You'll have more than 5 mil. Also "I'm like a boyscout/girlscout" 😂😂😂 I laughed out loud!
Random factoid since they brought up The lime drink being called lemonade. In Spanish there's only one word for both limes and lemons and it might be because when limes are ripe they are also yellow and sweeter. So The Spanish equivalent word of lemonade would be the same whether it was made with lemons or limes.
So late to the party, love the show! My brother is a the second and my husband is a Jr. It is different. If you call a the second Jr or a Jr the second you will probably get a weird look and a "that's not my name." I could see my brother getting in an argument, my husband not so much.
I like how George is always lowkey bougie. The bougiest thing is the way producer Lindsey speaks though. I love it! Greets from a guy who wears boat shoes and collects Espresso machines!
The wisest thought that is in everyone's minds today is to invest in different income flows that do not depend on the government, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver and digital currencies (BTC, ETH.... stock, silver and gold)
Your emergency fund is too bridge your finances in an emergency. An overly large emergency fund often means you're not putting enough towards other goals.
You want to do expenses because in case of an emergency you would have all your expenses covered while you get some stability back. And the 3-6 months is to help with any variability in your income. Such as income, 1 income household or 2 income household, and type of job. Some jobs provide more of a consistent income vs others may vary more month to month.
Your income should be more than your expenses. Savings and investments aren't expenses, so that SHOULD be 20%ish less right there if you get laid off. Most people have other expenses that they could cut or wouldn't exist when unemployed (gas, childcare, takeout, subscriptions etc). You might also get unemployment or severence payments, which can make 3m stretch to 4 or 5 or more. You also don't want a ton of money sitting around doing nothing, so it's not ideal to have more than you actually need in a 4% interest savings account instead of investments that average 10.
You guys gotta lose the skin before blending it or it will most definitely get bitter after a few minutes, and please, choose either sugar or condensed milk. Both will lead you to diabetes😂
He said in an interview with George recently that he probably was one now, total net worth, not cash worth. He also said being a billionaire wasn’t a ‘goal’.
Not really the group I’d want advice from because their path is not very attainable. Like, I don’t need money advice from Messi, because I won’t ever play professional soccer. The only way to become a billionaire in a single lifetime is for an owner of a business to really blow up. But anyone can become a multi millionaire, just by investing small amounts for 40+ years.
I think that you should set some guide lines what the money is for and what you value in your trust because 86% of people lose the money in 3 generations or less. In my trust it was written in it that the goal was to have a house. If you value a life without debt why not put that a goal of this trust is to have the beneficiaries be debt free for their entire life. If it is a large trust you could have half go to goals you set and half go to what ever the people getting the trust want.

Why does a Christian organization celebrate alcoholic drinks? I like the content, but not the premise. As a child of an abusive alcoholic, I know what alcohol can do to families. I don't understand the draw.
Anything in excess can be damaging. Jesus' first public miracle changed water into wine so alcohol in and of of itself is not anti-Christian. Alcohol did affect a few families we know during the pandemic shutdown. For that reason, we were mad at alcohol and abstain from it. Your pain is understood. I prefer the mocktails because drinking on the job and without your spouse seems a little odd 😉

Why does Ramsey say 3-6 months of expenses not income? Does it matter which one you use?

It depends how the net income money is spent each month. How much to meet expenses should income stop?
