- We caught up with poker tells expert Joe Navarro after he taught a session at the recent WSOP Academy Main Event Primer to get his thoughts on how people's faces can tell you everything you need to know about them, especially at the poker table.
I am also an expert in non verbal communication. If a guy goes all in and then craps his pants, it is a very accurate sign he is bluffing.

I prefer the freeze which tells me they are scared of being called. If they are loose and flopping around they are probably not bluffing.
My buddy rocks his leg when he has a good hand. I make big lay downs against him all time. He just doesn’t realize it. lol

@@GuantanamoBayBarbie2 We only play for pennies or maybe $10 buy-in, when some other buddies come to play. I don't care about the stakes, it's the intellectual challenge I enjoy. And reading him is part of the challenge.

I suck at spotting tells. I play much better online than in live games. Really need to work on it. I've looked at some of Caro's stuff, but I can't seem to spot most of it. I'm a visual learner, so I don't learn well from books. Any good DVD's on the topic besides Caro's old one?
IMO, best tell us the glance a player gives to his chips right after the flop or subsequent card is exposed.
My second fav is when a player will fiddle with his chips after any card reveal. It almost always signals they don’t want to see you bet and a very likely to fold to any bet.
What I learned from this video:
Play poker with dry lips...
When the body is is under high pressure, the eye pupils constrict. (They get smaller!) This is not CIA stuff, this is Physiology. This is the best way to spot a big bluff poker players. On the other side, dialated pupils (They are bigger) always show comfort and contentment. Remeber these at the table.

I don't understand why this has Poker Tells in the title. Sure, psychology, body language, and facial tells apply to poker, but there's nothing he says that pertains to poker specifically. I found that a little misleading.

Has anyone invented real time facial recognition for poker tells or other things in 2018? You could wear it at the poker table alomg with real time memorization of all cards, positions, bets history, etc it would be like playing a very good bot at poker? Would make poker very uninteresting? Like playing two Watsons at chess?
There's poker cheating devices out there right now which you know who wins... Positions, tells or whatever doesn't matter when you know who wins lol

I'm not sure if this is a tell or not, but I remember once I had diarrhea while playing poker, just about made it to the bathroom in time. I thought I'd taken care of everything and return to my seat. A few minutes later I bluff all-in on the river and I notice something brown on the chips, I looked down at my fingers and to my horror I'd hadn't washed my hands properly.
My opponent is tanking and I'm staring at my chips in the middle of the table hoping for a fold while thinking how I desperately want to get my diarrhea off my hands.
Eventually the guy calls and while he's stacking my chips he notices something revolting on the chips and asks the player next to him for a napkin. He wipes my diarrhea off his palms and the chips he's just won (I could see he missed quite bit of the liquid excrement) and carries on playing like nothing happened and continues eating his sandwich.
Meanwhile I'm so embarrassed I rush to the bathroom and wash my hands properly this time and rejoin the game while doing everything possible to avoid getting into a hand with the player who has my shit on his chips.
Eventually it becomes futile though because my poo-tainted chips circulate around the table and every single player has their fingers covered in my brown skidmarks.
Within about half an hour the poker game and the table looked like an abandoned shit farm

I played poker for 7 years til my wife served me with divorce papers. I would play for 3 or 4 days without any sleep so my brain became calibrated mathematical it you will ... At one point I've got pocket Aces back to back to back 3 times in a row. ...but that was just the beginning I then noticed patterns, shapes, and I cross reference numerology and sacred geometry and how a deck of cards is so synchronized and harmonious with mathematics.

@pistolschlapper Someone has marked you as span ONLY because what you say is true. Ironically I can also see in his face that he is holding back, and that it looks like he is not telling the truth. There are a few truths of course in his lies.... Clue number one, does he enjoy what he is doing? Does he numb himself and separate himself from the lies (which he may convince himself are true).
