Price is insane, 46K for the basic package and their dealers still have mark ups and additional accessories that are not optional. It’s a 50K+ for a kid size truck. Hopefully they won’t be able to sell lots of them for those ridiculous prices.

@joseg.5937 bro are you some kind of idiot. This isn't new for Toyota. Even the 3rd gen tacomas were massively overpriced and had markups and unnecessary add ons. And yes people will pay for Toyota. That's why all midsize truck sales combined don't even beat the tacoma in sales.
@joseg.5937 you have to be dumb. This isn't new for Toyota. People will pay for this truck the price doesn't matter. Thats why the tacoma sells more than all other midsize trucks combined.
I have a 2022 tacoma sr5 v6. Just drove from Texas to Florida averaged 26 mpg over a 12 hr drive. 22mpg in the city. That 4 cylinder should do way better
You can get JBL audio, heated seats/steering wheel and wireless phone charger on the SR5...but no power seats or dual zone climate control. Power seat/dual zone climate control isn't even standard on the OR. It's weird.

@paulm6481 tf you talking about? GM Financial doesn't finance people with bad credit....Toyota Financial does, in fact Toyota is one of the easiest brand of cars to get.
I’ve always wanted to buy a Tacoma. Not actually needing a pickup and having a family kept me in family sedans for the last 25 years. Now that the kids are grown I thought it time to make the Tacoma purchase happen. Um no….not at those prices. Actually, all pickup trucks seem to be priced way higher than they should be. Instead I just bought a 24 Sonata N line for 35K and couldn’t be any happier.
I like tacomas a lot too, I just don’t like how they’re so common, like everyone has them everywhere I go. But if I were to get one I’d go for the Sport trim.
Excellent video and great analysis on the value of the trims! Even the low MPG wasn’t too bad for what type of vehicle that is, my 2023 Tiguan gets about 10-11 MPG on short city drives where it doesn’t get to warm up properly 😂
I don’t get the complaints about price. A Chevy Colorado Trail Boss is 41k and you get halogen headlights, no cruise control, basically 0 safety features, plastic everywhere on the inside. I don’t know if everyone thought a brand new truck from the ground up was going to be cheap, new platform, engine, interior, transmission, everything is new plus all the safety features, those don’t come free. I mean a fully loaded Camry can push into the 40k mark easily, fully loaded Corollas are 30k-31k, I mean a fully loaded Prius will solidly run you about 39k-40k. So idk why a pickup truck would be cheaper. All midsize trucks are more expensive. A GMC Canyon tops out at 75k. The only “cheap” midsize truck is the Frontier and that’s because it is a re-skinned version of the same truck that was sold for 10 years.
I agree with the author, forget a SR5 package, go up in trim. I ordered the SR5 as it comes; I will install my own ITBC from off my 2021, and the other stuff wasn't worth $3700 to me.
Ngl… the Colorado might really gain some market share in this generation. It looks way better and you get more for your money. With this new Tacoma powertrain we’re kinda starting with a clean slate in terms of reliability.
The price is higher but i dont think ppl understand how much better these are, plus it has a twin scroll turbo for a wider powerband. This isnt a kia turbo 4, toyota uses really high quality stuff and the 4 cylinder will be easier and cheaper to repair than the v6, think about the labor in a v6 tacoma front timing cover, a 4x4 is like 18-20+ hours labor, the 4 cylinder will be 6-8 hours labor. The turbo 4 makes way more low end power it feels like driving a v8. Overall I was super impressed after test driving one.
Is it just me or pick-up trucks look awesome with long beds(of course xcluding performance ones like Raptors,Trd-pros,at4s,ZR2s etc)??.I love em with long beds TJM😂
All the trucks in this segment are close in price. Not like you'll get a long bed Colorado for cheaper. Long bed Colorado doesnt even exist so you'll get a short bed similar spec midsize for a similar price.
Any thoughts on the back seat size? Or maybe one of your other Taco reviews talk about it? I'm leaning towards the 6th gen 4runner over the new Taco to get a roomier back seat experience.
I cover the back seat space in my full review (linked at the end of this one) but yeah 4Runner is probably gonna be better if you want a nicer back seat.
The GMC Canyon Elevation trim with 430 ft lbs and a modern interior looks better than this. If I could afford the TRD Pro it would be another story. Also, how long will I have to wait to get one? Probably 6 more months at the slow rate they are being produced.
46 grand for a low end compact is ridiculous. If they at least added 6 inches to the rear so it could actually be mid sized it could at least be competitive

@@sawyermartin4434Thank you. These commenters are often full of it and dumb ignoramuses.
Always chiming in with silly quips, easily debunked with logic. "Fully loaded" my butt.
Typical annoying broTaco owners, you see sht posting on Tacomaworld and Reddit.
$46k?! Get bent Toyota😂
Over priced, gas tank is smaller than other trucks, back seats extremely small space/not comfortable . Inside cabin is noisy for the money.
Better check your math or your right foot. For christ's sake that's worst than a Sequoia. You're the only reviewer claiming 17-18mpg for a 2024 Tacoma on the internet. Everyone else is in the 21+ range for mixed driving.
I don’t like the screen. It looks like a kid toy 😢
Ridiculous price for an SR5
The Tacoma toxicity is real holy cow this community is sour.
Not a good buy, check back in about 10 years
