    Thank you so much for this video! this was one of the problems on my practice test where I just hit a wall and flat out could not solve. This video was quick and informative. If I get a question like this on the real thing I'm sure to get it correct! amazing content, thanks again!

    Thanks for another great video.
    For the roofer question, one roofer is x and the slower one is 3x. Wouldn't 3x be faster not slower?

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  4 года назад +11

      Let's say the faster roofer can finish the job in 5 days. That means:
      Faster roofer = x = 5 days to complete the job.
      Slower roofer = 3x = (3)(5) = 15 days to complete the job.
      Clearly, it takes the slower roofer three times as long to complete the job.

    On number four, I don't understand how you got 6 2/3 from 6.666 repeating

    • @GrammarHero
      @GrammarHero  4 года назад +3

      For the ASVAB, you have to know how to quickly convert fractions to decimals via long division. For a lot of common fractions, however, it's easier just to memorize what those conversions are. For example:
      1/8 =.125
      1/5 = .2
      1/4 = .25
      1/2 = .5
      1/3 = .3333333
      3/5 = .6
      2/3 = .6666666
      Here's a link to a chart of those common conversions: www.factmonster.com/math-science/mathematics/common-fractions-with-decimal-and-percent-equivalents

    If it takes 5 people 12 hours to paint 3 identical
    houses, then how many hours will it take 4 people
    working at the same rate to paint 5 identical houses?
    (Assume they work at the same rate.)
