    The only machine that could ever beat Gordon Murray's F1. A monster so destructive it left entire championships shattered in its wake. Powered by a beating heart that would propel Pagani to the stratosphere, The CLK GTR was one of the last great supercars that opened the gates to the era of the hypercar.

      Could only find 1 flaw in the speech [Hence this section :) ], The B is a "ringle S" so they pronounce it a ss.
      Don't really know the origin of it but is could be to get rid of the dreaded written SS in German writing (as a NONE German I can be very wrong indeed) !

      @_n-Dee_ Год назад +115

      the german pronouncement of
      "ß" is like a "ss"
      false: StraBenverion ok: StraSSenversion.
      the simple S is pronounced like Zzzzz
      the ß/ss in the middle of a word is pronounced like a comon sharp sssss
      Attention: the beginning of "St..." is pronounced like "Sht..." and in german sounds like "ShtrassenVersion" (StreetVersion)
      eng: sh ger: sch
      PS: french is more difficult :D
      ..just to clarify hopefully in other great videos to come.

      @@_n-Dee_ no sorry, you're wrong ^^ double consonants like "ss" mean that the vowel before it is spoken shorter. Since there is *only a small "ß"* (in many fonts at least; there is no use of it because a word can't begin with it), it is sometimes *replaced with a double S in block letters,* but this would lead to a wrong pronounciation following the German orthography. The ß actually means the exact opposite, so the vowel before it is pronounced longer.
      as -> as
      ass -> às (very short a, longer pronounced s)
      aß -> ás (longer a)
      but there are many exceptions to this, for example after following a vowel mutation (au, eu) this mutation is pronounced short again.

Mercedes and Porsche exploited that to extend the splitter and create more downforce, but that allowed massive front lift if the nose lifted too high at speed.

      The early era of GT1 was special and raw compared to modern standards.
      That being said, look at top-level endurance sportscar racing today. In the US we have Porsche, BMW, Cadillac, Acura… and abroad (with similar rules) we have Ferrari, Glickenhaus, Peugeot, ByKolles, with Lambo and Alpine joining next year.
      That’s a WAY deeper field than BPR GT or FIA GT ever had… And I’m totally here for it 😁

      @Andrew Robertson both good points from y'all. I haven't kept up much with the new Prototype racing at all aside from just seeing the new cars (which look absolutely mad, and the Cadillac is one of the meanest sounding cars ever) but it does seem to be the closest to that Era of racing we have. Although admittedly I have been obsessed lately with V8 Supercars and how incredible the racing and competition is within it.

Back in the mid 90's, I had a 1/18th die cast of a McLaren F1 LM GTR, and a Mercedes CLK GTR. There was two 911 GT1's, the 996 is the one everyone sees, and was homologated. I much prefer the look of the older 993 GT1. Please keep up the good work. Thank you.
