    Just traded this for the Escalade and for the reason you pointed out… space. I’m a BMW guy through and through but the X7 was not spacious enough for my active family. Performance is great, and if you don’t need a true 6 passenger SUV, then you’ll be happy with this. But if you want luxury and functionality, the Escalade wins every time.
    Side note, the Escalade was supposed to be my wife’s… she hates it and is now driving my M5 😭😭

    Similar build to my wife's 2022, except she chose white/blue interior. She loves her Audi's and BMW's. We do wish they had an optional 20" wheel. Early December we went out on a coffee run after our workout and she hit a Texas pot hole in heavy fog. Both right side wheels were bent... To our surprises the thin lightweight wheels weren't cracked and the tire didn't slip a bead. Called the dealership and they set us up with their authorized repair shop. Neither one of us had ever seen the machine used to re-round wheels! Took only 30min and we were on our way. Did order the 21" wheels!!! A must.

    Joe I’ve been waiting for your review of the M50i version of this, having seen your videos (multiple times) about the X5M, X5 M50i and X7 xDrive40i. I ended up ordering a 2022 X7 M50i set to be delivered to my local dealer in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait! The performance of it really is mind boggling; not only the acceleration but the ride quality and cornering. Silly!! Anyone in the market should drive this car before they buy a GLS, Escalade,

    I own both a Cadillac and BMW and what I can say is if you want performance with a little bit of luxury, buy a BMW. If you want luxury with a little bit of performance, buy a Cadillac. I own a 2020 BMW X3M COMP and a 2021 CT4-V. Great review as always and that X7 is a beast of an SUV. My Comment is of course comparing the X7 to an Escalade. The new Escalade is super luxury and tech. I am digging the limo override features. BMW did this with many of there cars back in the day. My father owned a 745i with a Radio in the rear arm rest and passenger seat controls.

    Hey Joe and Lori (and everyone else who read this comment) first of all, how are y'all.
    And thanks you Joe and Lori for bringing 1 of the 2 main large Luxury SUV from Germany. The BMW X7 is BMW biggest SUV and it main rival is the Mercedes Benz GLS. Now you are Review the X7M, (which haves 523 hp), but it's not the "Ultimate" BMW X7, that title haves to go to the BMW XB7 Alpina (which have a crazy 613 hp in a 3-row luxury German SUV).
    But what full size SUV would you choose, 1 of the "Germans" (BMW X7 or Mercedes GLS), or the "Americans" (Grand Wagoneer, Wagoneer, iconic Cadillac Escalade, the Chevrolet Tahoe (or Silverado), GMC Yukon Denali).
    Disclaimer: they're more SUVs, but these are the more noticable full-size SUVs not Midsize SUV like the Durango or Audi Q7 and when I say BMW X7M= BMW X7 M40i

      Depends what you use your vehicle for. Most people that purchase an X7 will not be using it as an off roading work truck so AWD is great for snow... I don't know of any Escalade owners that take their trucks off road... if an off roader is what you are looking for, you are better off with a pickup.

    Thank god this bmw is all wheel drive because watching anybody on throttle in the rain these days gives me bad anxiety 😭… I was recently Involved in a fatal accident in my mustang where I was racing a corvette over 100 mph on the freeway while it was raining when I suddenly lost traction, spun around in front of an 18 wheeler which almost ran over and killed me, and then I luckily managed to spin around one more time out of the way of the semi and hit the median instead. That experience changed my life because a tow truck driver behind me (who witnessed that accident take place) told me that I was incredibly lucky to survive an accident of that magnitude… he apparently has seen it happen a lot before and was surprised to see me walk out of my wrecked car without a scratch on my body. I don’t ever go more than 10 mph over the limit on the freeway anymore and never even think about racing anyone anymore. Y’all stay safe out there ❤️

    The X3, X5, and X7 are BMW's bread and butter. Say what you will, they nailed the "upper middle class" vehicle perfectly. You really can't say anything bad about these. They are exceptionally well built, with a ton of features, interior quality you simply can't get on any car other than maybe their fellow Germans and Lexus, and the dynamic excellence that is BMW. I don't really care for SUV's but if I had to go SUV it would only be BMW, the F-Pace SVR, or the Stelvio Quad. That's it.

THe MB and the X7 are really nice, super expensive to maintain but really not on size with the American SUVs. The X7 is really well though of by BMW for sure and you can’t go wrong. BMW’s are legitimately only meant to be used for 5 years, which is well within the upgrade timeline of their customer base. The engineering is often cutting edge and incredibly complex which makes for fantastic cars, but ludicrously expensive to repair. 5 years is when things always start getting issues with German luxury.

    • @aidenp5768
      @aidenp5768 2 года назад +2

      @@HCG That’s not even true, stop spreading false bs. People love tuning them, being hard on them during their break in periods, cheap out on gasoline which is very important in these, being late for service.. also on top of that BMW parts are generally expensive because the engineering and availability of them. These parts aren’t just made to work but work better than most cars on the road.. a simple part like a control arm is extremely beefy to handle the way it does. To get 530HP nothing is cheap under the hood. Cheap and reliability are also commonly mixed. Today’s BMW S63TU2 is a much better and reliable engine than it started a decade ago and the B58 6 cylinder option also proved itself being in literally every bmw lineup, Toyota is even usuing BMWs engines, B58, B48 and Diesel engines.

    • @HCG
      @HCG 2 года назад +1

      @@aidenp5768 I've spoken with a BMW engineer on two separate occasions about this. Are you really trying to say that's not what they do? Obviously it doesn't mean as soon as 5 years hits the car is trash, it means they build their vehicles with the mindset that their average customer will buy or lease a new car at least every 5 years. As a result, they can add significantly more complex systems and features that other, more reliability focused manufacturers would never add. That's the objective truth.

    The 2 German full size SUV’s, the BMW x7 and the MB GLS are still considerably smaller in size than their American competition, the Navigator and the Escalade. Small leg room and cargo space. They also don’t come with a LWB option. However, their looks and level of luxury are unmatched.
