How about disassociation which is a personality disorder? You compartmentalize the trauma to spare non-victims having the nice life, they don't want to be inconvenienced now do they! Yes, victims need to vent, the only one who they can really vent to is God as being damaged means your ability to earn is also not what it should have been. So you have a way to re-victimize the hopeless, they need people who they pay to listen to their anguish!
