I gotta tell you, I have not been very impressed with a lot of the new divers that have come out lately. The one that has impressed me most brand wise, has been Phoibos. But this is a pretty sweet watch! I absolutely loved the bezel edge and the blue on the bezel and dial is gorgeous. The stamped clasp doesn’t bother me at all! The price is a little high, but only because I’m poor! I’m sure it’s worth every penny! Highly impressed! Thanks for the review.

Minor gripes were the small index markers, the price, and the lack of lume on the bezel. Anyway, I love the color and the 80 hour power reserve.
Really enjoy your reviews. You have a easy listening voice. You could be on the radio. Could you do a segment about why the second hand on some quartz watches don’t hit exactly on.
Just got the black dial version..Stunning watch for the money.. Its not a divers watch. no ISO certificates with this watch.. Amazing for the price and I am getting 0.5 a day which is incredible for the money
Appart from the clasp which is kinda cheap, the metal bracelet is really well done, solid, no polish mistakes. But yeah it is highly polished, so it's shiny.
I picked up the version with the blue -- black gradient dial a few weeks ago.. Really cool watch but the markings on the bezel were all but impossible to read unless you put the watch in a certain angle. It was really annoying so I ended up returning it. I was really surprised something like that would make it to the production version. I would think it being a tool watch that readability would be a major priority. I was pretty bummed out.
You'd think that but there's a Steinhart Ocean One 500 Titanium with a display sapphire back that is WR up to 500 meters as the name suggests. Same price point as this, Swiss movement, better in my opinion. But yea, display back does not equal poor WR.
The indices are fine. Any larger, too similar to so many other watches. I do agree about the cheap clasp. For me, deal breaker. As for being highly polished, let's face it the majority of people who buy dive watches don't dive))))
This watch is amazing with accurate time keeping and 80 hours power reserve. However; the bracelet needs to be more professional with 20 millimeters width having double clasp, machined and solid brushed links. The bezel numbers need to be readable, as they are very shiny. The index marks need to be a little bigger and the hour arm to be a little longer. Tissot needs better lume for this advanced dive watch. Otherwise, all the other technical specifications are spectacular. Many Thanks for the comprehensive review and Best Regards.
Received mine (all blue with metal bracelet), accuracy is terrific, after the first 24 hours wearing it I'm still within a second my reference smartwatch.....who needs COSC lol. Only thing I can say, it's a very "dressy" diver. Only wearing it one day at the office and already 5-6 dudes asked me watch is the watch because it's gorgeous. First time one of my diver's provoked so many reactions..... Bought it two weeks ago from Jomashop (best price I've found), was lucky enough to avoid the customs fees...... One thing : the lume isn't very strong......but it lasts LONG. I'll test it in diving conditions when the summer comes........never felt like diving in winter (unlike some of my friends).
This is nice. The clasp could definitely be better. Have you seen the Certina DSAction Diver? It’s another Swatch Groups watch with this Powermatic 80 Movement. It’s also an ISO certified diver and has a milled clasp with ratcheting extension.
I was looking into this watch. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to get the power reserve at 80 they slowed the beats per second. If that's the case it's not as a smooth sweeping hand which is what I like. Wondering what's the difference between this watch and a seiko regarding the second hand movement?
als 1 great observation and great question as well. Personally I’d rather have a Seiko like the Sumo I own with a 6R15 movement and even better the new 2019 Sumo with the 6R35 movement and 70 hours power reserve. The Sumo I own has 50 hours power reserve and I’m fine with that .
Yes the Powermatic 80 aside from other things has a high-tech escapement that tends to be more accurate and they slowed the beat rate 21,600 just like most SEIKOS but as far as quality it still is Swiss Movement keeps great time very thin and very very accurate and dependable I have two Powermatic 80 watches and they both keep within 3 seconds a day.. just a side note I really do like movements with a smoother sweet but fertile watches there's so many advantages to the slower beat rate hope this help I know it's long-winded

I think its possible as tissot has a few, three hundred dollar automatics, and I have a nice list of swiss brands with watches for about 1,000 each, anyway hope to see more reviews
I have a pcr200 but I love this model... And they got it in black.. am I gonna buy a second Tissot hmmmph Also what did you use to charge the lume there ?
6:03, yeah but this Tissot watch has some misalignment/skewed too. Look at the text SWISS MADE in the bottom. They should have really put that centered somewhere else, it just look odd, that the text SWISS goes more left, than the MADE goes right.
Seems like 80-hour power reserve is the new standard, making those 38 or 42-hour power reserve in those ETA, Sellita and even more high end brands' and in-house movements outdated and unacceptable, especially this is available in a non-luxury timepiece. Even Ball is producing their in-house movements with 80-hour power reserve.
@@surfitli Yes, you are right. Good thing Ball's manufacture calibre still offers 80-hour power reserve at 28,800 bph. Their prices are pretty decent, very comparable to those ETA movements in affordable swiss watches.
Watching your video, I'm not quite sure, but I think the looks and the design of my new Seiko turtle "save the ocean" is a better piece ,although the Tissot win over with the sapphire crystal on it.
What epidemic sounds song is that on the video? Nice watch, I was looking for new diver sub 1000€ and final two were this and certina. Went with certina 60th anniversary
Hey Maverick, I was considering one of these, would you suggest the Seastar or a Seiko SUN065 Padi? I'm torn between the two? Great video as always! Thanks.
I have to agree with you. What lets this otherwise gorgeous watch down is that shitty pressed steel clasp!! I'm actually dissapointed that a company like Tissot has done this rather than putting a nice machined clasp on it. It would be a winner otherwise!

This could have been such a great watch but Tissot made so many design mistakes. First they have these big fat hour and minute hands and then put super tiny hour markers. They’re so small they look comical. The hour markers should be double the size. Why is the lumed lollipop on the second hand so small? It’s so small it doesn’t function. The lume is pretty weak overall. The hands are decent (not remotely Seiko Lumibrite level but adequate), but the dial hour markers are faint and fade very quickly. The bracelet clasp is cheap stamped metal that looks worse than a Seiko clasp. The amount of polished surfaces is a strange desiccation. The ceramic bezel is too reflective making it near impossible to read the bezel markings in most lighting. The best version of this new Seaster to get is the one with the black bezel and gradient blue dial (like an Oris Aquis) that comes on a rubber strap. The Certina DS Action Powermatic 80 is a much nicer dive watch with full ISO6425 certification and a quality bracelet with a ratcheting dive extension for only slightly more than the cost of a Seastar.
