Just imagine Tissot putting this movement into the Gentleman or the PRX. They'll fly off the shelves.
A gmt prx would be awesome
Assuming the size is kept tame.. they keep putting out these massive watches.
That would be awesome, I would so buy that
@@dvsmage if you noticed the caseback, it would EASILY fit in a 40mm piece
I would love it!!!!!!!! imagine it on a PRX 42mm as the chrono
They released this one at 46mm when the time comes and they decide to do smaller 43mm everyone will be happy and hyped. Market psychology at its best.
I like the Seastar design but the are huge
I like this watch, it remind me the Oris Aquis with its round shape. But I was waiting a 40/42mm release to make it decent. 46mm? I need to be Arnold to wear that thing. Also the open case with such under scale movement is horrible.
They need to make smaller version of this 😭😭😭😭
Love this watch! I've had mine for about 9 months and it is my favorite everyday watch.
I picked one up today. It’s a big boy for sure. My daily is a PRX 40mm. This is substantially larger and heavier. My plan is to wear it a few days and follow up here with my thoughts.
It’s been 4 days since I started wearing the Seastar 1000 GMT. I’ve got say that it’s really grown on me. The weight is substantial. But the dial, the two way bezel, and the overall look are fantastic. It’s gotten a good amount of compliments and it makes me smile whenever I look at it.
I happened to stroll across this watch on your site and felt an instant attraction to it. Decided that I would purchase my first GMT from you because I've been enjoying your content for a while. Thank you for your detailed reviews, lifelong fan and I will continue to support your channel! I will be sure to showcase my Tissot in my new cigar rolling content 💨💨💨
Just got this one. If you have the wrist, pics and video don’t do justice to how nice this is.
Tissot has released many great designs in the last few years, so I imagine they are holding off on releasing this movement in a watch with more mass appeal. If they don’t, it will be a huge miss.
Swatch group is so weird with using this movement mainly in giant watches. I have the Mido Ocean Star GMT Hodinkee Edition, which is 40 mm with the same movement, and it's amazing. I don't understand why they aren't making non-limited editions in that size.
So smart to match the bezel lume and GMT hand lume. So smart. Now make a 39/40mm version!
A Seastar GMT sounds great!
You guys in US are welcome to those colours though 😆
I own a white PRX Panda, Tissot quality is really nice comparing to my other Swiss watches 👍
46mm is crazy
I got mine on Tuesday. It’s bulky, but I like it.
bought this two weeks ago and i love it, feels and looks like a 5k watch all day.
I like this watch a lot but I, like others, wish it was 42 mm. Still, I would rather wear a slightly big watch than a slightly small one I would like to see a milled clasp at this price point as well.
I generally wear Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster 300, Oris Aquis and various seiko divers.. I recently bought the Teal Dial Tissot pro 2000... In my view the 2000 is every bit as good as many other dive watches that cost 2, 3 and 4 times the cost.. After all it is Swiss made as are my others except of course for the seikos.... This GMT looks to be of the same high quality as the 2000... which seems to redefine the meaning of "entry level"... If watches of this quality are being classed as entry level... I would beg to ask what we are comparing them to... Many so called "entry level" movements outlast the movements that are found in much higher priced so called mid to high tier watches..For example I have a seiko dive watch that I bought in January 2000...It has never been serviced and keeps excellent time.... One of the many things that I like about this new Tissot GMT and my Seastar 2000 is the fact that they are a 46mm sized case..This makes it less desirable for those with a smaller wrist thus making the watch far less common and more unique... Having said that.. The Chinese, Japanese and other far eastern folks have mostly smaller wrist sizes but have no hesitation in buying and wearing the 2000 and probably the GMT when available.
Amen! Well said, totally agree with you!
True. They confuse entry level to well priced..
There's nothing entry level on its specifications when it beat others on timekeeping.
Teddy I love your reviews so much that today I ( Amir) bought this very watch from your website. Thanks for the great reviews brother. FYI, you never tested the GMT function but you did speak of it, but it's cool, next time.
This just may be my next watch. Beautifully done Tissot.
I hope this becomes a regular series production model!
How many of them will be made? I have ordered mine recently. I love this watch. And my wrist can handle 46mm.
I've been looking at this watch lately. Nobody that I've seen has a count of pieces made... just a "Limited Edition" tag.
Always loved the Tissot Seastar, but the case size has been a provlem. Really excited about the newly released 40mm Seastar. Would love to see your review in it.
Teddy, forget the watch, how nice is your jacket!!!!! The green is gorgeous, you are one stylish dude!
Love that it’s a travelers gmt and that it has a bi-directional bezel, but just don’t understand the thought behind building it on such a large case.
I don't understand the size choice but it does work for some people. Just feel like a 44 would've been a more reasonable choice overall.
Nice watch, Powermatic80 is solid, but a PRX GMT would be spicy.
Why 46mm? I’m sure it will fit others large wrist but wouldn’t offering it at 40-42mm could satisfy more customers? Hope the smaller sizes will be offer in future.
Would be cool if it was a "regular" size. I'd say 42mm at the max. 46 is just unwearable for most people imo. I just don't understand why Tissot keeps releasing these extremely big watches. It seems like every single one of their models are a little bit bigger than they should be (even the PRX or the Gentleman, that I love, but would love even more if they were just a little bit smaller at 38).
A solid step in the direction for Tissot but the size is wrong. A 46mm diameter and thickness over 15mm sound like a joke nowadays especially from an established watchmaker
Looks like great overall value.
Hey Teddy! Thank you for another great video! I am from India and I find your channel very fascinating. I just have this one question..It is going to be my first decent watch buy and I am confused between Tissot PRX automatic & Seiko 5 GMT.. which one should I buy.. please guide! Thank you 🙏
Tissot prx automatic
It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work. And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
After watching this review, RUclipsr Eddie Tomman questioned the need for a 46 mm wrist watch. Here is my earnest reply to Eddie:
The wrist watch market is quite diverse and continues to evolve. My tank / battle (i.e., go-to-war) watch, a Bertucci A-5S Ballista, has a 45 mm diameter, and fits my wrist very well. As I am very brutal on wrist watches, I protect the watch's sapphire crystal using a TacMonster cover. Also, take a look at the Garmin Fenix and Marq product lines. The latter is sized at 46x15 mm, and the former is offered in 42, 47, and 51 mm. The Garmin smart watches appear to be enjoying tremendous success and growing popularity. My general point is consumers' preferences for larger wrist watches is evolving. Lastly, I poured over the underlying specifications of many entry-level GMT watch models priced near or below the Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80 GMT watch, and didn't find a single model that surpassed all or most of the Seastar's impressive specifications (Davosa Swiss Automatic Ternos Professional GMT TT 16157109 42mm Pentalink, Marloe GMT Night, Seiko Prospex World Time [48.5 mm] Automatic [SBED003], BOLDR Venture GMT Field Watch, Bertucci A-2TR Field Pro GMT, MTM Black Cobra 44 [44 mm excluding the crown!], [MIDO Ocean Star GMT], and a few others). Some of the more expensive brands, a few of who's GMT offerings caught my eye are Ball, Tudor, Seiko, and Formex. In closing, countless modern wrist watches exceed the conventional 42 mm diameter.
Cheers!
Such an underrated brand!
I don't understand Tissot sometimes. This is not the first time they've released an affordable "true" GMT, that would be the Chemin Des Tourelles GMT which at this point in time, you can still get for around $ 400.00 if you find a seller; it's essentially using the same caliber. Makes me wonder if they used the Chemin GMT as a trial of sorts to incorporate the movement into a more popular watch type.
This movement needs to find its way into the PRX the Gentleman and the COSC Ballade. They would all sell.
I would not want this 46mm watch to be in any smaller case size. Its size is what makes it stand out. You don't want it to look like a Rolex that is approaching the size watch that women wear. It was bad enough some guy blurted out to me, nice Rolex, he didn't really have the eye for detail anyway. My wrist is 7.5,it fits perfectly because the lugs are short and it doesn't extend over the wrist at all. This watch is stunning in person. I owned a Tissot T-ouch expert Solar Titanium. That is a big watch also, but fits perfectly on the wrist, just like this Seastar GMT
Teddy, does it use the same movement as the Mido GMTs?
Love Tissot!
I find this beautiful and the price is pretty much OK for the brand and gmt variant.
And considering it has a True GMT movement, the watch is an amazing value for money
To be honest, ETA should work on the font of the date wheel.
I don’t like the looks or the size (especially the thickness), but that is amazing value!
That thing is a behemoth lol sweet looking though. Tissot is really making moves as of the last few years. I only have one Tissot, but it's a PRX PM80 and I gotta say it is fantastic. Imagine a GMT PRX 40mm or under lol that would be interesting. What would the gmt hand look like? 24 hour marks can be done on the dial, but the hand design 🤔
Sorry just thinking out loud lol
MONTHS later how do you feel about the 35mm auto?
Bonito reloj Tissot. 🤩🤩⌚️⌚️⌚️
A little big, and a little expensive for a Tissot. 40 to 42 mm case size would be better. And, under $1,000 retail, maybe under $800.
Since this is a limited edition, is this a good watch to purchase and then just hold on to for resale?
Oh no, if I bought it, people would say I cannot afford a sprite.
B-but it’s limited!!
Are you going to make a video on the new tag solargraph? 👀
Assuming you have the wrists for it, do you like this or is the Mido still king for
Hi Teddy!, What are your thoughts on this one vs the MIDO ocean star GMT that you have recommended so much?.
@Teddy, on your site's page for this watch, second pic shows chrono pusher buttons (it's probably misplaced picture).. which watch is that?
Love this watch
And PINNED bracket links - well that's where they cut the production costs...
YUGE
That lume… 🥵
I thought that the time of oversized watches is over. Here it's unfortunately also otherthick. Would have loved to have 40mm.
I really like the seastar line, but the dial sizes are ridiculous.
Any reason that would not ship to the UK if I place an order on your site?
can you compare this watch with longines zulu time gmt plz
Has anyone had problems with this specific model? I've had my GMT serviced already because the GMT had wasn't moving correctly. Now after a couple months its not working again!
Man, I’m so glad that when I’m diving, I can see what time it is in Switzerland. It’s more useful than timing my oxygen!
Some people want a daily watch that is waterproof yet still offers gmt capability for greater everyday functionality.
I wish we'd move away from the dive watch look concerning GMTs. Longines Zulu is a breath of fresh air
Great looking watch. But, way too big,... Why are Tissots so large?
46mm? Where am I gonna wear this on the bicep?
no turtleneck? How am I expected to watch an entire episode without a visit from a turtleneck? :-)
Love the watch and color scheme, but it's just too big and I have an 8.25 inch wrist
At 42mm this would be on my wrist. Instead I went with a Seiko sharp edge GMT.
Need Smaller size in their line up
I like bigger case size but 46mm, hmmm
I really like it
Yes that's too big for my wrist 46mm 😂😂
It’s too big for most wrists.
Was scrolling quickly and thought it was a Sprite lol
It would it be in my collection if it was 43mm or less.
So, do I get it or not? ;)
Too large for my tastes and 7.25” wrist. Is the bezel really 120 clicks? At this price it should be 48 clicks (24 x 2) to accurately accommodate the 1/2 hour time zones. I have yet to hear of a 96 click (24 x 4) bezel, which would accommodate the 1/4 hour time zones. Interestingly, Timex has placed an unusual 72 click (24 x 3) bezel on their Intelligent Quartz GMTs, but at least these watches jump their GMT hands in 1/2 hour increments and allow for fine adjusting the GMT hands for any differential, such as 1/4 hour zones. 120 click (24 x 5) bezels are a cheap specification. So far, I have yet to see a worthless 60 click (24 x 2.5) bezel on a GMT.
To big to thick forget about it the prx is the gem
It might very well be a great watch….but I cannot stand looking at that “T” on the second hand. So, I’ll never know.
46 mm? 😂
It’s a little bit obvious for me You don’t need to have a Rolex to have a nice dive watch -but I’m thinking of a young man who wants to show off or an older man with a younger girlfriend. I have no doubt they will sell a lot of them,If I did have the wrist to carry this off, I would be wearing a MIDO ocean star GMT.
46mm? Anything larger than that? 😂
Nice job making it 46mm, Tissot. You fucked up there
I swear Ali express brands have way better braclet and clasp than Tissot.
46mm? Jesus, what is this Invicta?
such a nice looking watch until I see 46mm??? What? I'm out.
Why do they make it so big 😭😩
Doesn’t come close to the looks of Ocean star GMT.
Tissot have some great innovations at a great price point. Sadly too large fo the mainstream. I own and wear a 36mm vintage PR516 two register chronograph with a Lemania 1277 base movement which dates to 1969, a time when Tissot sponsored rally car and formula 1 racing. Unfortunately, their heritage has been lost in the modern era and I find the reissues of their back catalog completely unwearable due to the size. They need to go back to the drawing board and relaunch the brand. With a heritage as rich as Heuer and Longines at that similar price point, they should tighten their marketing and design.
Purposeful-looking watch. 46mm 😂
They just get bigger and bigger !
Who will bring out the first half-meter clock-watch, to be worn across the shoulders, Tissot or Seiko or Bulova ?
Gotta say when I first got into watches properly, and was on a budget, Ilooked pretty hard at the entry level swiss divers from Tag, Longines and Tissot, and they're all fairly unnattractive desk divers with flat details and sweetie wrapper colours and textures, cheap polish and usually too big for even my 7" , I've come around a little on the B&W Conquest and appreciate the specs have improved but these are designed for tye mass market and have very little to offer in design terms to us the nerd community, not that the sales numbers reflect my disobliging view😂
Beautiful but huge for a GMT, sadly. I’ll pass.
Size is ridiculous on this one..
46mm? It is just ridiculous.
Way too much writing on that dial for me
*A monster of a watch. I cannot look past the counterweight on the seconds hand. Not attractive, in fact a distraction.*
Giantic size and heavy! What for? Surely inconvenient for everyday use.
True GMT function is nice but the bracelet.. that bracelet is unacceptable.
You always criticize lume and bracelets, but never, ever provide any justification for doing so, i.e. specify why either or both lack the quality you see as ideal. As such, your reviews lack a certain authority.
Waaaay too big
