  • The goal of this video is to help you decide which Garmin Livescope system you should buy/if the new system is worth the upgrade.
    I compare the image quality and range of the old livescope (LVS32) and the new livescope (LVS34) in a few different scenarios and discuss the advantages that each system has.

      Thanks! I don’t usually run the range as far as I had it in the video, but wanted to see what the different transducers were capable of and how they compared in the exact same scenario!

    I think the bigger unit has higher resolution as well. It would be interesting to see the same video reversed the 9 inch with the 34 and the 10 inch with the 32.

    • @blakekniesfishing501
      @blakekniesfishing501  9 месяцев назад

      Yes it does. I did my best to account for this by extending the forward range and depth range on the bigger graph. Thanks for watching!

      @blakekniesfishing501 do another test with the 34 on the 9 and the 32 on the bigger display.
      I want to know is there a benefit to running the 34 on the lower res 9sv UHD.

    Gret Job!! Thank you for the detailed comparison. 😊👍👍. I’m on a small 11 acre lake that’s 20’ deep on average with plastic 10’ Uncle Buck’s Pond Prowler boat and trying to decide which to get. I do want to see under docks which are 5-8’ water depth. Interested to know which you think. Thanks again for the comparison!

      I think the 32 would work fine for that. Thanks! Much shallower than 5 foot I would think the 34 would work quite a bit better but the 32 will work good for what you are talking about in the 5 to 8 ft range!

      Yep, would be best if I had another 12” screen. I tried to account for this by extending the range on the larger unit but it isn’t perfect. I did run the 32 on the larger unit for a while before I bought the 34, and I didn’t feel like it really took advantage of the increased resolution on the bigger unit.

    This is awesome now redo it with the 32 on the 106 and the 34 on the 93... the resolution of those screens is vastly different. I thought you were running a 126 and a 106 that would have been a fair comparison 😊

    Thank you for your video. I have an LVS32 and just order the LVS34 System. I think I will keep the LVS32 for Perspective Mode Scoping and the LVS34 to close the deal. Would you run the 32 from the console and the 34 from the bow? Please advise.

    • @blakekniesfishing501
      @blakekniesfishing501  9 месяцев назад +2

      I would mount them both at the bow, since one will be in perspective they will show you different views of the cover and fish. That probably depends a little on how you fish and what you fish for though. You will also have the interference that I have in this video but they will still be usable

    Definitely can read bottom brushpiles with the gain turned up higher. Sure there will be noise but with a trained eye, i can read past the noise. However the lvs34 does make it easier

      I would say there definitely are advantages, especially with the increased range, but bigger screens definitely help to take more advantage of the increased clarity. You will notice a difference in clarity on the 9 though

      Only a slight pix/ft resolution advantage on for the 34 based on the way I adjusted the ranges. In my experience, the resolution on the 32 isn’t good enough to take advantage of much more resolution anyway. Thanks for the input though.

  • @BC_Fishing
    @BC_Fishing 9 месяцев назад +1

    12” ultra vs 9” UHD is a little bit of a bad comparison. The UHD unit doesn’t have the same power and screen resolution as the Ultra.

    • @blakekniesfishing501
      @blakekniesfishing501  9 месяцев назад +1

      Not a perfect comparison due to the difference in screen resolution. However, the sonar processing takes place in the gls10 black box so the processing power of the unit will not affect the image. I tried to adjust the ranges to account for screen size but the 12 inch unit still wins out on pixels per inch. I will say though that I ran the 32 on the larger screen for a while and for me, it didn’t gain a whole lot from the higher screen resolution, until I got in deeper water over 25 ft or so.

      Yep! I extended the depth and forward range on the 126 to attempt to account for the difference in screen size but still not perfect. From my experience though, the 32 doesn’t benefit as much from a higher resolution screen as it doesn’t have the details as well!

      Two different generation sonars on two different generations monitors, with set parameters that no one will ever use, gain is out of adjustment, noise rejection definitely out of adjustment. Get some lessons from Pro Crappie anglers. No one and I mean no one can use livescope like pro crappie guys. Not even debate able.

    • @blakekniesfishing501
      @blakekniesfishing501  6 месяцев назад

      @@WiredForFishing Yes, the goal of this video was to compare the different generations. Also a lot of the noise in the images is because there are two transducers running at once creating interference. No way to avoid this if while running them simultaneously. The same thing happens when trolling close to someone else with a livescope while fishing. I have heard that the crappie anglers are incredible with it.

    • @WiredForFishing
      @WiredForFishing 6 месяцев назад

      Livescope is like art. We have deep thick Eurasian Milfoil on my home lake. You can see fish you never knew existed with lives scope, the technology is amazing. Different settings for different lakes and structures are an absolute must. No one and I mean no one uses Livescope for beyond 75’ it’s just worthless beyond that range. Maybe in big open water trolling, maybe. Generally speaking Livescope shines in less than 30’ of water with less than 50 feet of distance. If you fish dirty chocolate milk like Grenada lake I can only imagine how good it works there. Haven’t been back to use it there. In the Northeast in clear water it’s a necessity. There is a way to reject the noise between two units, in close proximity. Much of this depends on the base starting frequency, and if you turn both units on at the same time or not. Try turning one on facing port and one face starboard, 30 seconds apart. You can also cock the transducer brackets a couple degrees vertically toward each one’s side and that seems to help.
