I bought the old one. No regrets on money saved! Works great, got tons of fish already
Nice work. Well documented. Garmin should pay you to show the real world improvements. Nothing beats actual in water comparisons.
Sick comparison, didn't think I'd be watching a new ice fishing video in the latter part of May!
Dang Jay this might be an investment for next season! As always you rock and thank you for sharing!!
Jay,
You make it easy for guys like me that need some info , Thank You !
I have the 32 and ordered the 34. Definitely going to mount the 32 on the transom for sharp shooting and have the 34 for ice fishing and mounted on the trolling motor. Seems like a really cool setup. Just gotta get the 185 shadow ordered first 😃
do you need a black box for each transducer, or can you run both of of one?
@@bigfishbrau need a black box for each, so 2
I’d like to buy a new unit from GARMIN, but it’s soooo confusing on what screen to use , which transducer package to use and which holder works with what screen you choose ? Maybe a video on how to set up one of these for ice fishing and also for your boat ??
Livescope is good for that first hole dropped to find where the fish are to save you from wasted time and battery. I still used my flasher 80 percent of the time when ice fishing. ONE THING I will switch to the new Livescope in a heartbeat IF Garmin makes great improvement to the flasher in their livescope. That would be a great selling point for me. Right now, their flasher in the livescope is just useless and garbage. GARMIN, if you are reading this, improve your flasher, where people can actually differentiate their target instead of cluttering lines of colors.
That tan line 😎
Thanks for the review Jay. Great side by side.
Always a good day when jay posts 🎉
Jay thanks for the great video. As always you make some of the best videos in the fishing world. My question is, if your looking for one unit to check for fish (ice fishing only) in the surrounding area is the Livescope or MEGA 360 the better choice.
Definitely livescope 💪🏻
Sitting on this for sometime. I have been waiting for your review
Watching this makes me miss ice fishing. I can’t wait until next season already
Jay makes the best comparison videos. I'm planning to upgrade but didn't pre-order. I'm in no rush for it. I'll just get it when it comes available in store.
cym I'm about to buy livescope.. was just thinking about starting with the lvs32 do u think I should just get that or go right for lvs34? I fish 98% musky so picking up small fish isn't huge for me ill be looking for bait with it but even bait for tge most part us pretty big
@Ryan Eveley yeah for your purpose the 32 should work just fine. But if money isn't an issue I would definitely recommend the 34 over the 32. You won't regret it but if money is tight then you'll still be happy with the 32. But the thing that makes a big difference is your screen size. Bigger is always better. 10" min. There's more pixels in the bigger screen so the picture quality is way better.
thanks .. ya I have a 9" for my garmin . a bigger screen for my helix but I definitely want garmin live .. maybe ill just get the 32 and get another head unit this year too . I wanted to go with a 12 anyway.. thanks for your time
Great video! I'd love to see how to use it mounted on a transom (real world applications).
He did one video last year I believe with Sam
Great video Jay, really good comparison! 👍
The LVS 36 is a Game Changer. I'll be buying one as soon as there available. I just don't know the Price Tag yet 😅
I should not have watched this. Wallet says no. Heart says yes.. Damn you Jay.
Thank you. The side by side was very helpful.
Thank u for ur honesty
The burning question is...... When do we get a new boat overview video? 😁
I had them both and believe me, it's night and day, just buy the LVS34 but one big caveat do not pair it with a ecomap instead pair it with a gpsmap 1022. the clarity is amazing.
nice, finally in Manitoba
Jay Siemens, thank you so much for this video. - as always super excellent!! I want to mount the LVS34 to the back of a Ranger 621 FS Pro -with the screen towards the back motor as well.
Is this possible and do you have any videos on it? I'm super cautious on how and where to get this done -since Ranger sold to the big media marketing Cabelas/BassPro with high school kids running the outdoor departments.
None the less, if this is possible, I will be bringing it to an old Ranger dealer for professional installation. Thank you again, sir!
Thanks for the review. I am in the market for Side Imaging and forward sonar. You mentioned that Garmin makes the best Side Imaging. What transducer would the best SI transducer be? I assume you would be using the Echomap Ultra 106sv for SI and then it could also be used for Livescope LVS 34.
HD imaging
The gt56 is the best imagining transducer on the garmin lineup. You can get a 106sv+gt56 combo everywhere. There are 106sv+gt54 combos as well, but the 54vs56 is noticeable
Thanks, very helpful information and sure helps with purchase decision making.

Hi Jay, thinking about buying the Garmin 34 ice bundle. In your opinion, having a a nitro zv19 walleye boat, should I go to the 60 inch pole mount or would the 72 inch be better? Thanks!
What is the number on the tripod arms only . Want to add to my boat mount for ice fishing rather than have a seperate one .

Do you have any video out yet of your LVS32 mount on your boat and how you are using it on the transom?
This is fresh or saltwater ?

Great video and information. Thank you
I just picked up a used panoptix. So how different is the LVS34 from the PS22? Is it worth making that change if I'm only going to be in like a max of 20 or so feet for perch / walleye?
Sadly with Tech like this they already have the next 5 Transducers developed waiting to release them annually to just keep stringing us along.
Drop 2k on this one and Drop another 2k on the next one 12 months from now and so on...
Great video as always. But, I still stand at live imagining is bad for fishing and fish populations! Going to greatly increase numbers of fish caught...plane and simple. At some point we have to stop the tech involved in fishing. I think we have reached that point. My 2¢.
Jay, does the 34 Plus work with 6” ice holes?
Can anyone advise. I just got a boat and I live in Hawaii. I don’t know much about fish finders except that I need one badly lol.
Garmin UHD 93SV LVS32 Livescope transducer with a touch screen unit is for sale for $800. They guy who is selling it says it can read over 10,000 ft of depth. (Not saying the live scope works at that depth but he’s claiming it will read that depth) Is that true? I want to catch opelu bait fish for trolling but also be able to see what kind of life is on the bottom for bottom fishing. Is this a good setup? And is $800 a good deal for used equipment with no warranty? I’m looking for guidance. Thanks 🤙🏻
I know Garmin has another style of livescope transducer I believe it is the lvs-12. Have you tried using that for reviews
12 was the original, then came the 22, now 32 and the latest 34. I have the 22. It's amazing seeing what the 34 does compared to the 22 I have. I'm probably going to skip the 32 and go right to the 34 because of the cleaner resolution and no dead spots like the 32 has.
Top vidéo thanks!!!
Can You use the 34 with the 106 that came with a 32 ?
Or will I need a new monitor ?
What is the interference noise level induced when you simultaneously use the two transducers? Could the results have been better for each of them if they were not exposed to the other one's signal?
Currently there is a $550 USD difference between the 32 and 34 livescope packages. Do you think that difference is significant enough to justify buying 32 over 34?
I think so, yes. Again, it would be personal preference and individual situation. For me in the scheme of things: $20K fish house, $8k atv, $20k boat on and on...another $550 for 50% increase in scouting range and improved target bottom separation. I am in.
Wondering... how large was the used softbait? Inches?

I just bought the panoptix livescope and was wondering if it’s better to have it attached to the transom or on a move able mount to look around with it? Any opinion is appreciated!
Depends on the species targeted and your style of fishing. Do you pitch jigs and bobbers? Probably should mount it on the trolling motor or pole to scan. Personally that is more of my style. If you're more about boat control and casting at a certain direction, go with transom.
Problem with upgrade is that each transducer will work on specific model only
That is incorrect. You can use either transducer with the GLS10 module.
