She truly was simple minded. Not a beautiful thing. Her character still immature after 5 seasons. Not becoming to be simple minded at 26. She became increasingly annoying

@@KatieLL I agree. I'm surprised the writers weren't replaced. It went downhill after season 2. It could have been a brilliant show. The insecurity of Brenda and Rhoda was tiresome too.
I never understood why it is supposed to be so great to marry a doctor? People think they need to marry to be truly happy. Actually, marriage works best when each person brings their best to it.
Doctor equaled financial security by most people's expectations.

Such a pity they never got to develop the relationship between Rhoda and Dr Gilbert due to cancellation. He's like Joe, Stoic and dry albeit a little more reserved- Rhoda. quirky and unconventional with a good heart!

The whole plastic wrap workout, works. Its a last resort for pageant contestants last resort for water retention. Wrap the legs and ride a stationary bike or exercise like she was doing.

Witty Widow the late70’s was when perms took off. I remember I had one. As for the clothing.... disco and shiny things were in too.
I don't think they did that. I think that's just how they looked. That perm did nothing for Rhoda though. What's sad is, Rhoda, Brenda, the mom and dad are such good actors and writers did a crap job. It could have been an awesome show. Benny and that Tina were horrible and the story lines started getting really bad. I'm surprised they didn't fire the writers.
Why did they say Brenda was fat ? She wasn't at all. She looked fine.
@Witty Widow the worst was Karen Carpenter with the perm. She was so thin it effected her face and she looked terrible with curly hair.

Regardless of how this sitcom did eventually fail., The continuing neurotic and insecure behaviors of both Brenda ( so immature) and Rhoda, became increasingly annoying for me. I skipped episodes, and had to take a break from Ida😅. I remember why I never did finish watching back then. It seemed so ridiculously immature.
( married in 78 at 21 (lasted 37 yrs, before his death 9 years ago). Anyways, it it still exceptional compared to the filth of the reality shows and garbage that we are exposed to in this time. It’s a shame that we can only watch reruns of all the great sitcoms from earlier years. That’s all😊
