We just purchased the Phillips 5500 and took brew group out to clean - it was full of wet and dry coffee sounds. Both in the brew group and the machine. Doesn't seem right. Is something wrong with the machine? Is it something we're doing wrong?

I waited from 9/11/2021 to get my 5400, finally its is here. Where do I get strips from? I don't have any, none in the box or packaging? I'll guess and set it to #3.
Hi Harry, thank you for reaching out with your question. The strips should be in the box, be sure to thoroughly check it. Please let us know if you can find it.
How do you turn this thing on? We are on our second unit and it’s the same thing. The videos I seen people just press the button and it beeps. Ours we press and nothing. We hold the button down. We’ve pressed it multiple times. We’ve tried different ways. The button has no vibration or feel/feedback to it. After a few hours we’ll try again and bam it turns on. Do we have a defective unit… 2 in a row?

If this doesn't work, could you please reach out to us on Facebook or Twitter? Please, send us a private message informing the model number of your machine, so we can help you there. We hope to hear from you. Thank you!
I have to use the palm of my hand instead of my finger to turn on. A lot of people have had the same problem with the on/off button. My bet is it's a problem with the capacitance touch circuitry.
Thank you for your video, is it normal for the machine to go through a short rinse cycle every morning after I press the on button and I’m ready to make coffee?
Purchased this for $1300 USD from William-Sonoma, but less than 3 months in, it stopped working. It was great while it worked. Hello. Today I´ver ordered one EP5447/90 to Spain and I cannot wait until it comes!. I have one doubt, in my city, the hardness of the water is not so much and I was planning to use the water from a "brita style" jarr, but having the Aquaclean filter installed makes unnecesary using this "Brita" jarr? Thank you!
Hi Juan, thanks for your comment. Congratulations on your new coffee machine! Indeed, the Aquaclean filter is usually enough at correcting water hardness and minerals. If you, however, weren't completely comfortable without an additional filter, you can use the Brita jar as well. We hope this answers your question! Feel free to reach out to us again if you have any other questions or inquiries. We'll be happy to help. ☕ 🙂
Hi I've got a question about the 5447/90. I bought mine yesterday, did the installation, but when brewing a coffee, my coffee keeps staying watery, even with the fine ground settings and a double shot.. am I doing something wrong?
Hi Nigel, thanks for your comment. We're sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your EP5447/90. Let’s see if we can get your coffee just right. Here are a few things to check: 1. Make sure you’re using fresh coffee beans. Stale beans can result in a watery brew. 2. Even though you’re using the fine ground setting, try adjusting it slightly finer if possible. 3. Ensure you’re applying consistent pressure when tamping the coffee grounds. Too light or too heavy can affect the extraction. 4. Check if the machine is heating the water properly. The ideal brewing temperature is between 90-96°C. 5. Make sure the machine is clean, especially the brew group and filters. Residue can affect the coffee quality. If you’ve tried all these steps and the issue persists, we kindly advise you to contact our customer service team directly for further assistance. You can reach out to us through one of our Social Media channels or the support page on our website. Our team will be happy to assist you further!
Thanks for your question. The lower the grind setting, the finer the coffee beans are ground and the stronger the coffee will be. We hope this helps, but let us know if there are any other questions. Wishing you a pleasant day.
One recommendation to Philips is to improve the installation manual because deciding the water hardness from that was dubious for me. They should at least give pointer what black and grey dots are. For me I got one red and depending on if you are left handed or right handed you could either interpretated it as water hardness of 1 or 3. Please fix that in later versions.

@Philips Hello, How often do I change water filter ? And how many times I have to change water filter before I want to descale coffee machine ? And how often do I use oil removal tablets ?
Hello, Reinis. Thank you for contacting our Philips Global team. We're glad you asked this so you can keep your machine running at top performance. Regarding your question, after 95 liters of water have flowed through the filter, the filter will cease to work. The AquaClean status indicator drops to 0% to remind you to replace the filter. As long as the AquaClean status indicator is shown on the display you can replace the filter without having to descale the machine first. If you do not replace the AquaClean water filter in time, the AquaClean indicator goes out after some time. In that case you can still replace the filter but you first need to descale the machine. When the AquaClean status indicator drops to 0% or when the machine reminds you to replace the AquaClean filter. It, is recommended to clean the brew group with the Philips coffee oil remover tablet monthly. We hope this helps! Feel free to ask us anything about this product by sending us a direct private message. Thanks!
Yes Reinis, you only need to descale the coffee machine when the machine indicates that it needs to be done and the Machine Descaler (CA6700/98) is compatible with your machine. We have added a link to the user manual for you below, as you can find many more tips and the descaling procedure from page 19 :- to.philips/6053JTzo9 We hope are answers have been useful, feel free to reply if we can help further!

Is only me, or the coffee strength doesn't change at all? I make it at minimum of the bar, and I cannot say it becomes any weaker than when is at mid. And consumes too much beans, way more than I would use if I make it manually, without cofee machine. Okay, I add more into it. How I make weaker cofee at all? I regulate only the "aroma bar" on the very machine, bringing it to bottom (just one step above the value that would require powder instead beans). Is that not enough? Need to set something else? That grinder up there?
Thanks for your question, Georg. If you'd like a less strong cup of coffee, you can indeed, next to selecting the lowest aroma setting, re-adjust the grind setting to a coarser setting by turning the grinder setting knob inside the coffee bean container to a bigger coffee bean. You need to brew 2 to 3 drinks before you can taste the full difference. If you need further assistance: you're always welcome to send us a message on Facebook or X or to contact us via one of the options mentioned on to.philips/6054bDQ9A. Have a good week!
@@Philips Okay, but I do not understand, and cannot find anywhere, what makes "low grinder settings". How I know when they are low, and when they are high? I want to make it as high as possible, for as weak as possible coffee. If too weak, will readjust but first want to taste most weak. Is there anywhere more detailed tutorial how to work with that grinder?
Hi Georg, on page 14 of the manual you can read how to set the grinder settings of your coffee machine: chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/to.philips/6059bGbqv Hope this helps.
@@Philips Thanks for the reply. But that doesn't help me much. Nothing graphical or visual, is basically what I see in this video. Set the grinder higher, set the grinder lower. But how? How I know is low or high? No such info. Hoped there is some visual tutorial how to work with that knob, how to read the scale and so. For some might be as intuitive as to turn the wheel when driving car, for me is not so. First time in my life I own machine that have grinder at all. I managed to rotate it somehow, but I have no idea where to is high and where is low. I believe this unit needs much more detailed explanation.

Hi Hasan, yes that is very much possible. 😊 Check out the following webpage to read more about making iced coffee with your machine: to.philips/6059HfZ2F
@@Philips It doesn’t say that you can make iced coffee directly with the machine. It just says you can brew coffee as you normally would (with a machine such as the one in the video) and then put it in the fridge to cool down. That’s not the same as making iced coffee WITH the machine. Can you point me to the instructions for that?
@@melissab1868 I would assume that if you want to make Freddo Cappuccino, you fill a glass with ice and then make a cappuccino over it. A trick would be to give it an extra shot of coffee because it should not be too watered down.
Hi, the LatteGo is a fully automatic espresso machine, fortunately we have the L'or Barrista. Which is a great coffee machine with pods. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
Hi, thanks for your comment. The 5400 series doesn’t have a dedicated feature for making cold coffee beverages. It’s designed to deliver a variety of hot coffee drinks, from a robust espresso to a creamy latte macchiato. However, if you wish to enjoy a cold coffee drink, you can certainly make a hot coffee with your 5400 LatteGo and then cool it down to your desired temperature. For instance, you could make an espresso and then add ice to create an iced coffee. Alternatively, you could refrigerate the espresso to make a cold brew-style coffee. Additionally, you might also be interested in exploring the 5500 LatteGo, which does offer the convenience of preparing both hot and cold coffee beverages with a single touch.

Thanks!
Does Philips Saeco Espresso Machine Descaler CA6700/98 is suitable for Philips EP5441/50 coffee machine ?
@@Philips So that means I descale the coffee machine only when AquaClean indicator goes or reminds you to change the filter ?
Yes Reinis, you only need to descale the coffee machine when the machine indicates that it needs to be done and the Machine Descaler (CA6700/98) is compatible with your machine. We have added a link to the user manual for you below, as you can find many more tips and the descaling procedure from page 19 :- to.philips/6053JTzo9

When will this model be available in Australia???
Hi. Thanks for reaching out and your interest in our product.
Hi Georg, on page 14 of the manual you can read how to set the grinder settings of your coffee machine:
chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/to.philips/6059bGbqv
Hope this helps.

Can cold beverages be done with this ?
Is there any option for pods or k cups
Hi, the LatteGo is a fully automatic espresso machine, fortunately we have the L'or Barrista. Which is a great coffee machine with pods. If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
How can we make a latte with decaf finagled coffee?
Does this machine make cold coffee?
For the next batch of this machine, make it have a milk container that cools down so that you can put 1 liter of milk
Otherwise, the device is excellent

Why does my espresso come out Watery? I just bought this machine
Hi there, John. Don't worry, your coffee machine is not faulty. If this is the first time using your LatteGo, it is normal that the first brewed coffees are watery as the system is still adjusting.
Try to brew a few more cups of coffee in order to optimize the extraction of the coffee with the compactness of the ground coffee. Hope this helps! 🙂 ☕
@@Philips thank you for your answering. I tried more then 30 cups of coffee and still come out watery I adjust the max on arom and still come out watery. Only sometimes the coffe comes out normal but after comes watery again. Could you help me :)

I thought the LatteGo container had a lid to keep the container in the fridge. Does it have a lid?

WHERE AND HOW SHOULD I PUT BEANS TO MACHINE? CAN YOU GIVE NORMAL MANUAL WITH YOUR MACHINE!????
Hi, thanks for your comment. To fill your 5400 LatteGo machine with beans, please lift the lid on the bean container located at the top of the machine. Pour your coffee beans into the container, and then close the lid. It's important to use only coffee beans, as ground coffee or other substances can damage the machine. Regarding the manual, every 5400 LatteGo comes with a user manual that should provide all the information you need. If you've misplaced your manual, you can download a new one from the Philips website. For further assistance, you can also contact our customer service team directly. We’re happy to help with any questions or issues you may have.

cant even find where to buy the 5400
Hi there, Jennifer, if you provide us with your main country of residence, we can have a look for you!
This espresso machine is a failure. Mine broke the funnel in the middle and that's why the same effect. The mill fell from it. Replacement PLN 199. Later, water was dripping from somewhere. control board. They could not fix it anywhere because Philips has its component descriptions. Of course they didn't give me the schematic. I will add that the espresso machine broke two months after the warranty. Replacement of the entire board PLN 600 in the service. After returning from the service, I noticed a strange behavior of the display, sometimes it turned on, sometimes it didn't and I had to pull the plug every time. Return to service and replacement of the display.
I warn everyone about this brand.
